Honest Abe installed a new mini split hvac system for us this week. All the techs have been amazing . Professional, courteous and timely. They spent an extensive time during the initial visit to assess our project needs in order to provide the best solution for our older home. I have enjoyed working with the office team as well. They have been very nice and professional as well.

Alonso and his assistant were very knowledgeable and thorough with their work. They were efficient, friendly, and went the extra mile to make sure our vents and dryer were clean, functioning, and clear of any and all issues. Overall an excellent experience!

I’ve been a customer for over ten years. Since the company was acquired by Ally Services in 2023, a private equity-backed platform, I’ve noticed repair quotes are much higher than average with no itemized breakdown (I was quoted $1000+ for a repair but called another known local company who quoted $530), technicians are sometimes late without providing an ETA (There were multiple times technicians failed to even show up and never called), and service continuity has decreased (I have have had multiple technicians do repairs for me and stated they just started working for the company). Calls also begin with membership questions (It seems revenue over customer service is the new mission). I hope they return to their previous level of transparency and reliability.

I was able to get an appointment through next day for a minor plumbing issue. Sol arrived when he said he would, fixed the issue and showed me the improvements he made. He also took the time to ask about other issues we may be having.

Thank you for your timeliness and clarity of your work and explanations. Everything was left clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend you to others. Turns out Michael I was the technician for friends of ours in the nearby community.

Hired them to clean dryer vents - a lot of scammers out there that do this so important to go with reputable company. Honest Abe was professional, competent and fairly priced.

Michael installed a new toilet for us recently and came back to check on it today. Always get prompt and quality service and have used for all my plumbing and HVAC needs for many years. Highly recommend using them.

Dishonest Abe Heating, Cooling and Plumbing:
In middle of January 2026 I contacted company Honest Abe Heating Cooling and Plumbing to order a service: a sewer pipe camera inspection. The company had a coupon for that at the time for $79. I spoke over phone with Dana, the receptionist ,to schedule a technician visit. Dana read the disclaimer in the coupon and assured me the coupon will be honored and the technician will get a note regarding the coupon and our agreement.
When tech arrived he was staying on driveway his van for about 30-40 minutes and talking with his boss. They took time to remove the coupon from their website. Tom, the tech inside my house told that Dana needs to be trained more and refused to honor coupon and do the job. He was even pushing me to look at the website, knowing that there is no anymore posted that coupon. Tom and company owner action is actually disrespect to their receptionist commitment. The proper name for the company would be better DISHONEST ABE HEATING...

Brandon and his two suppoorting team members were wondetful. Respectful in every way, from being polite and professional, to cleanliness and respect for our physical property. Brandon was particulatly knowledgeable and experienced and offered a lot of advice and information. And best of all, there was no high pressure to sign a contract. Honest Abe and your staff like Brandon are a breath of fresh air.

11/12/2025: Tayla probably knows my house plumbing better than me by now. This trip for Tayla & Andrew was to drag my 94 yo starting-to-fail boiler plumbing into this century. Fill valves, new expansion tank, rerouting of fill line, etc. Clear communication all around, worksite cleaner than when begun (yes, I always appreciate this) & all my questions answered. Fast turn around from inspection to the job, even at the start of heating season.

10/22/2025: still great, Michael I. did an auxiliary sewer line clean out. Gave me good info about the condition of 94 year old lines below the foundation. (Uh, yikes, but know what to watch for to decide when to do the replacement.) Left the job site cleaner than I gave it.

7/15/2025 update: still awesome. Tayla was out to deal with my outdoor spigots, including one not used in a couple decades. Good communication between front office & all of us. Fast, cleaned up the job site (sorry about the spider crickets & garage in general.) I really appreciate the upfront estimate & explanations. Y’all make this easy & pleasant.

(2023):Ke & Tayla were great. Upfront about cost & work required, fast, answered all my questions about operations & maintenance, left the job site cleaner than it started. I also appreciate the efficiency & communications with the main office.

Brandon did a great, informative inspection.

Greg & crew also relined my chimney & redid ventwork to code. For a noisy, messy job, they left site clean. Minimal disruption for me even though I was working just one floor up. When the pilot blew out, they came right back out to make sure it was ok & relit it.

I was very impressed with my tech Tim ,he was very knowledgeable about my furnace and helpful with determining what was wrong and how to get it fixed, I've encountered a lot of techs and Tim was by far the best I have encountered!! Thank you Honest Abe , for sending Tim!! He is the best!

The whole team at Honest Abe was great. Needed same day service for a small leak that I couldn’t find and Donna was great at getting everything set up. Michael I came out to take a look shortly after and narrowed the issue down quick. Great photos, documentation, and customer service all around. Loved the service and experience

We have been with Honest Abe for years and Brandon M has helped us several times. Brandon is very knowledgeable and always patient in explaining the work done or needed; he also showed us detailed photos of what he checked so we can see what work needs to be done. He also takes great care of the space and has everything back perfectly. It’s great to work with Brandon because we are confident in his expertise and trust he’ll take great care of us.
*As a follow up, Maykol and Alonso did our dryer vent cleaning and they were great also. So friendly and professional. Great people and work all around 😀

Over the past several years we have worked with the skilled professionals at Honest Abe across multiple divisions and properties. Recently, we have had a new heat pump installed and had the dryer vent relocated so that it could be efficiently cleaned. They arrived at the appointed time, were efficient in the assessment, and thoroughly explained their recommendations. They properly identified a fire hazard during an annual inspection. We scheduled the work and they followed through with the installation. Each time they entered the home they respected the property by covering their shoes. They worked efficiently and were able to schedule multiple projects simultaneously when appropriate. We’d like to mention Moshe who led the estimate and planning for the scope of the work. Alonso and Maykol were terrific. Eric and Brandon took great care and Chris even made himself available when a small leak appeared and took care of the problem early on a Friday evening when the work had been completed. We’d like you to know that we are pleased to be able to work with folks who truly understand “service”!

I tried to put a second stellar review up for Honest Abe but for some reason it's bringing up the review from a year ago.
I can't say enough good things about Honest Abe! They were at my house 5/29/25 and 5/30/25 to remove an old A/C unit which the handler was in the attic and installing a new one. Mocha's crew, Chris, Jack and Rob came to my house and took out my old A/C unit which was darn near 50 years old and installed a new Lennox AC unit. I am so happy!!! My house cools so much quicker and its quiet and much more efficient. Chris, Jack and Rob know HVAC and all of their hard work paid off. They are so professional, and they answered any questions I had concerning the unit. The craftsmanship shows in their work from leveling the new unit, putting gravel around the unit and bricks to border it. My Lennox unit looks fantastic!! Chris took the time to show me how to use my new thermostat too I told him I feel so modernized after having the old mercury thermostat. LOL!! Honest Abe is the best! I'm very pleased with the work they do, and they got it all done just in time for the summer heat!!  I highly recommend Honest Abe and suggest getting a service contract with them as well you won't be disappointed. I’ve used Honest Abe for all of my plumbing needs for years. Today they (Sol and another gentleman I’m sorry I didn’t get his name) did an install new vanity and toilet and it looks fantastic!! I also asked if they could snake the stationary tub and what a huge difference! Everything is running smoothly now. They are the best! Very professional! I signed up for the monthly service agreement because you never know what may happen down the road when it comes to plumbing and HVAC.
I am very very pleased once again!

Alonso and Michael did a wonderful job with our drywall repair! It doesn’t even look like there was ever a hole there. They were friendly, knowledgeable, quick, efficient, and clean. Amazing team!

1st impressions matter!! Honest Abe you left your mark! I was told by my handyman, to look for a company I could trust to service my furnace on a regular basis. He said it made sense to pay the yearly fee since I would need and rely heavily on the upkeep of my HVAC, dryer and fireplace systems. I did my research of course and stumbled upon Honest Abe. What stuck out were the high number of great reviews. Could this company be really as good as they said? My early am call was answered with a cheerful response by Donna who set me up for same day service. I received a confirmation email within minutes. After an hour or two had gone by, I received a text and email with a picture of my technician Tim, alerting me that he was en route to me and would be arriving soon for my service appointment. Hello? Special much?? I certainly felt like it!! Tim arrived and was courteous, cheerful and knowledgeable and get this, even showed my husband what the issue was and how to take care of it!! Who does that??!!! At the end of the service, we were offered the choice of paying for the visit or enrolling for the service plan, (which I wanted anyways). I mean, who could say no after all of this ??!! I certainly could not! Tim and Donna, as the first points of contact for the company, I say Well Done! Thank you for making my first experience an exceptional and memorable one. Honest Abe is customer focused and truly honest! And in times such as these, i for one, truly appreciate it.

We moved into an older home where it seemed like one thing after another was breaking or needing repair, and we have been so happy to have found Honest Abe. Everyone we have worked with in this company has been wonderful - they’re thorough, explain what they’re doing and are patient to a newbie homeowner, don’t try to upsell, prices are competitive or better, clear about diagnostic issues, take their time while also being available quickly, and create detailed work estimates. Brandon M inspected our chimney and even discovered that the recently installed water heater by another company was improper and a carbon monoxide risk. He talked me through the chimney work that was needed and taught me about the appliances the home came with. Alonso and Mykol worked several days to make the updates and large repairs to our chimney, fixed the previous company’s mistakes and brought it up to code, and explained each step to us after. They genuinely care about their work and our safety. When our boiler stopped working, Abe came quickly to help diagnose it and get it running again, and again, explained different options to us. We became members so we can utilize their skills and expertise as we update our new-to-us older home over time.

The plumber Michel I. is a real gem! Top-notch work and great personality! Honest Abe cares for your home, laying out blankets in the work area and cleaning up after they are finished. We're thankful they are in Baltimore!

Michael arrived and immediately got to work examining my problem, a Plugged sink. He explained what he would do in great detail and spent a significant amount of time making sure that the water was flowing properly. He also sent me videos of the work that he did so that I would have that additional assurance. I highly recommend Michael and Honest Abe and I’m very grateful they came so quickly.

I have a house that seems to have all the major issues come up at once. I am seem to be meeting all divisions of the company in away too short of a time and have been very happy with all of the technicians. First up was Tayla for a broken steam boiler. I was not aware it should have been getting cleaned every year. It had a few issues. Tayla took the time to explain all of the repairs to me and show me the damage. She also showed me how to drain some water from it weekly to avoid build up and extend the life. She recommended I purchase a service agreement, which I have already received more in discounts than it cost. She noted that I may not have ever had a liner added to my 1890 chimney and recommended that I have that inspected. So next up - Brandon. He took a lot of time to check out all my chimneys. He showed me where the grout had issues inside the one in question. He also took the time to inspect with a drone and provided all the pictures with the estimate. Since I was having the boiler and chimney estimates/work done, I decided that it was time to get an estimate on replacing the 20+ year old unit that had died at the end of the summer. Next up - Tim and Moshe. Both were great. My current air handler is not to code (probably an understatement) and the configuration of having it in a cabinet over the third floor stairs with the duct running up to a very shallow attic gave them quite a challenge. The spent a lot of time considering all the ways to approach it that would work best for me. I believe the proposed system will provide something that will work well for me. They made sure to include rotating it with an access panal so the new system (unlike the old one) can be serviced without trying to figure out how to put up scaffolding or risking injury climbing above stairs. You would think that would be it but then I went to flush my really expensive toilet that has a grinder and pump to get the water to the sewer line 3 feet above the toilet. Tayla recommended Sol to come out and look at it. He came and in the process of assessing it flushed it and - wouldn't you know it - it worked again. He was very pleasant and had a sense of humor for coming out to a call (included with the contract so no charge) for a repair that was not needed. Over all, every technician that has come out has been knowledgeable, pleasant and spent time explaining everything to me. I would recommend Honest Abe to for any repairs. Because it is so hard to find a plumber that also is an expert in Steam boilers, I can not speak to competitive pricing, but I do not feel that any of the charges were unreasonable for the amount of work needed and the quality of the repairs.
