Mohammed should train small business owners how to run their businesses well! From beginning to end the process of working with him and his team was a pleasure.

We found HESS through Pepco's Home Performance energy savings program. Mohammed was responsive, arrived on time for the audit, and made sure to ask us about what specific issues concerned us. He went through the results of the audit, and gave us information on approximately what sort of credit we would get from Pepco, and what the best options were for some tricky cellar walls and improperly vented attic spaces. He included photos in the quote, as well as results of the air leakage in our home, and what percentage improvement he expected with proper insulation.

When it came time for the actual work, the men arrived on time with a smile on their faces. They worked hard and non-stop, finishing in one day, and a few hours a few days later. They would have actually finished in one day, but since the men had already been working 10 hours straight, I asked Mohammed to let them return another day. Throughout the day, Mohammed walked us through all the work that was being done and answered all my questions. He was on-site several times that day, and always checked in with me.

We're just at the beginning of winter here - so far our upstairs is maintaining a much more uniform temperature and I don't hear the furnace firing up so many times during the night. Prior to the insulation we had quite a few hot spots/cold spots, depending on the season.

Mohammed has made the Pepco rebate process easy to manage so far, handling all the paperwork, and giving me estimates along the way as far as what he thinks we'll get back. It looks like the rebate will cover about 4/5 of the cost - that's a win!

While searching for an appliance rebate program I came across HESS. Upon inquiring I was contacted by a knowledgeable sales person who explained there services and the rebates available. We scheduled an inspection. Mohammed was very detailed oriented and compiled a comprehensive analysis with thermal imagery to support his recommendations. He was able to identify the most probable locations for air leaks and suggest a fix. We reviewed and accepted the proposal in a video call.

His team arrived as scheduled and implemented his energy remediation plan. Our home provided more than one structural surprise which required a followup by Mohammed. He did not hesitate to jump in and get his hands dirty. Upon review he suggested an alternative approach which made sense and reduced the cost to us.

Most of the work done is out of sight. I'm confident it will improve our air quality and home environment. It's a pleasure to deal with a professional who recognizes the importance of customer service. I recommend HESS.

We received our audit in 2019 and decided to complete the work with Home Energy Saving Solutions over a year later. Mohammed handled all the paperwork for the rebates and even went to bat for us when the rebate came in lower than expected. His crew was extremely friendly and professional and quick. They reinsulated our attic and basement, a considerable amount of work, in just one day. The rebate program, Empower Maryland, is a great deal for consumers, it may feel a little daunting, but Mohammed and HESS will walk you through the process so that it’s very straightforward.

We haven't had a chance to test out the new insulation in the winter, but so far our upstairs is maintaining a much more uniform temperature and the A/C has definitely not been working as hard. Prior to the insulation we had a room that was 4-5 degrees hotter or colder than the rest of the upstairs depending on the season.

Mohammed has also made the Pepco rebate process easy to manage so far, and his estimate was within 3% of the final rebate we will receive. I've been incredibly impressed with his communication throughout the whole process and would recommend HESS for any energy saving or comfort issues with your home.

Edit: I wanted to add that we had Mohammed back to do some additional work when we were having our A/C replaced and he was great in working around the installation schedule. Through two winters and summers our upstairs has been much more comfortable!

Mohammed is an exceptionally knowledgeable man about home energy issues and won’t suggest something for your home that’s not needed. Since getting the work he recommended done, we have noticed a definite improvement in our house’s comfort level. It’s not as drafty in these past few months compared to a year ago.

He is also very responsive to follow up questions. We needed a copy of the receipts of work done to our house, months after the work was done, and he emailed back the receipts within a day. Amazing!

This company too as a whole is very professional and organized. They made the process easy from start to finish. They took care of all the necessary paperwork to get a substantial (75%) rebate from Pepco. We only had to pay the difference up front. We didn’t have to pay the full amount and then wait for a check from Pepco in other words.

If you think your house could benefit from more insulation and would like a consultation in this regard call this company (and be sure to ask for Mohammed if possible!). You will have to pay about $100 up front (and then any insulation costs after) but it’s worth it. Again they take care of all the paperwork so you don’t have to. The final out of pocket cost was quite reasonable.

Excellent business. We had them out for an energy audit after having pipes in our house burst. We ended up getting insulation in the problem area addressed and also sealed the attic and encapsulated the basement. The price is very reasonable with rebates from the electrical company and federal rebates program for home efficiency improvements. great service, prices, communication, and workmanship.

Home Energy Saving Solutions LLC did a clean one day insulation for my house of about 5000 sq ft. The price the very fair, and there was no push by the owner of the service company.

Mohammed and his team were great. He came out for the initial inspection and explained everything so thoroughly and took his time looking through our house that was built in the 50s. He went above and beyond explaining things to me and what has changed since my house was built in the 50s. When they came to do the work they sealed off our belongings and cleaned up after themselves- you almost couldn’t tell they did work except for the major improvement in our home’s energy efficiency! It was also way more affordable than I expected given the Pepco rebate. Definitely recommend their team!

Mohammed performed an audit for my house back in October of 2018. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The report identified some key area’s I knew needed to be addressed, but at the time I was undecided if I wanted to have the work completed. Fast forward 6 mos. later Mohammed happen to reach out to me via email to let me know that there were additional energy savings rebates. After a few back and forth emails and realizing I would receive more than half the cost of the project back in rebates, I decided to move forward with the recommended insulation and sealing work.

The Hess team arrived during the allotted time frame and began the process of setting up, making sure to cover the floor surfaces where they would be working. The workers were very professional and courteous. They completed all work agreed to in the contract and little more, they showed me all areas they had insulated and sealed. The work completed caused a 60% improvement air change rate and I can tell a difference already. I haven’t had to turn on my AC as often as I did this same time last year. I highly recommend working this company.

I wholeheartedly recommend Home Energy Savings Solutions and Mohammed! This is the first time I’ve written a review for a company, and they truly deserve it. My house, built in the 1950s, lacked insulation and had many gaps, causing the furnace to run constantly in the winter and the AC to run non-stop during the summer. Mohammed came to our home to conduct an energy audit, and I followed up by adding insulation to the attic, sealing gaps, and encapsulating the crawl space. As of January 2025, my heating bill dropped by nearly $80 for December. I also received an energy report from Washington Gas showing that my gas usage is 25% lower than that of efficient homes (it used to be 50% higher). Mohammed was always available to answer questions and quick to respond. Plus, we took advantage of several Maryland rebates, which Mohammed handled seamlessly. Thank you again!

Mohammed taught me a lot about my old house during the energy review. He also discovered there was old vermiculite asbestos insulation in my attic (that had not been noticed in my earlier inspection). His crew later on insulated our attic and did an excellent job. Would def. recommend.

I am so happy we did this project. We bought our home 1.5 years ago, and the summer upstairs last year was unbearable. We knew we needed to do something, but weren't sure where to start. Someone suggested to get an energy audit done. Home Energy Solutions came out, conducted the audit, and provided us with a plan of improving the comfort in our home, while saving on energy costs. The team came out yesterday and were very professional and courteous. They did all kinds of work in our attic that had insufficient insulation as well as an air duct that vented into the attic. Kind of scary that we were breathing in attic air. The work was completed in about 6 hours and they cleaned up after themselves. We noticed an immediate improvement. The temperature upstairs has dropped and we are now comfortable. I cannot recommend Mohammed and his team enough!

I found HomeEnergy Saving Solutions (HESS) on the Pepco website. I was installing a new HVAC system and wanted to have my home inspected for energy efficiency. Mohammed inspected the home and tested it for air leaks. After air sealing and additional insulation in the attic he retested and we had a 19% reduction in air leaks. He also determined that the heat pump that we were installing qualified for a rebate from Pepco. He saved us a good bit of money. The house is now warmer and more comfortable and the HVAC system runs less time. I highly recommend Mohammed and Hess.
