If anyone is looking for a great Electrician who is prompt and reliable this is the place to call. I had an issue with an electrical outlet knocking power out to half my master bedroom, foyer and front porch light after I plugged in the vacuum. I went on Angie’s list and after 20 minutes I got a call. He was able to walk me through the issue and then I realized we had one more GCFI outlet I didn’t reset. Once I did we got back power. Not too many companies still do this kind of help or service. He could have just set the appointment, came out and took my money to flip a switch but he didn’t. We need more companies like this one. Thank you!!!!

Bill assisted me in troubleshooting a line-side issue over the phone, enabling me to call Pepco with everything I needed to get prompt service from them. He did not charge me, and just seemed happy to help someone out. He could have easily just told me to call Pepco and left it at that, but he went the extra mile. I imagine any work his team does receives that same level of genuine care and commitment.

My wife and I recently moved into our first home. We had Hyman Electric come in to perform a panel upgrade as well as installation of updated outlets and an exterior outlet. Jeremy and Kevin arrived the first day and could not have been more pleasant and receptive to what we were hoping to do. The entire team does fantastic work and Bill did an excellent job of keeping us informed of the plan, progress made each day, and of the overall progression of the job right through completing the work. He was an excellent point of contact for coordinating the work with Pepco and always followed up. We could not be more pleased with the work, we highly recommend this team, and we will not hesitate to reach out to them again for whatever electrical needs we may have in the future!

I've used Hyman Electrical several times in the past few years, and twice this summer (we have a 40+ year-old home with some wonky issues). They are extremely responsive and efficient. Every time I've called they have sent a technician out the same day, and the problem is usually resolved in a matter of hours. Jeremy has come out the last three times - he's a straight-shooter who will provide options without trying to upsell or pressure, and does great work.

I was not able to get an appointment with my electrician for 3 to 5 days as it was a holiday weekend.
I had lost lights and outlets electricity in kitchen and circuit had tripped. I tried at that time unsuccessfully to turn breaker back on. I contacted Mr. Hyman after hours. He called me right back. I sent him some info. and picture and he promised to call the next morning. 8:30 sharp he called and talked me through the fix. He was so patient. He didn't charge me either. I am so grateful. I would not hesitate to contact him again.

I have an older 1938 house, and have been using Hyman Electrical for almost 20 years. Their crew are brilliant. They started with a heavy-up when I bought my house in 2005.

I did not appreciate their talent until I hired a local Handyman to install a ceiling fan along with some other updates he was doing. What the handyman could not figure out after 6 hours of trouble shooting--Jeremy from Hyman Electrical assessed, corrected, and fixed in literally SIX Minutes!! I was trying to save a buck, by having a general contractor do some electrical work. It cost me so much more in time, cleanliness, and worry. But I am so happy Hyman Electrical came to my rescue.

They have also been instrumental in any upgrades we have done, including: our Kitchen Remodel, electric dryer installation, adding new outlets, and speciality LED cabinet lighting ON Dimmer Switches (which is not easy).

I recently had the pleasure of working with William G. Hyman Electrical Contractor. They installed a new service entry cable and electrical panel for my home. The entire experience was fantastic.

His crew arrived on time, worked professionally, and completed the job with meticulous attention to detail. Even the county permit inspector complimented the quality of the work. I cannot give enough praise for Bill and Jeremy. They are THE professionals of the professionals. They know old houses, they know how it should be done, and they will not cut corners like those random electricians you find from home improvement service apps. Sure I find them there initially, but the level of work they provide is nothing compared to those “handyman” services, that they claim to do electric work. If you want the electric work done right, Bill and Jeremy are the guys to call. Their knowledge, their workmanship, professionalism and customer service are the best I have experienced, and I will not call anybody else when I need electric work done. 10/10 recommend.

I hired Bill and his team in early 2023 to update my electric panel and install safe wiring when I converted the lower level of my town home to a small apartment for my mom. They did a fantastic job! I recently had a home inspection and the electrician doing it complimented the quality work they observed. Fast forward 2 years when I came home one evening and had a partial power outage in my home. No circuits were tripped. Neighbor was having a similar problem. It was late on a Sunday evening (on a holiday no less) but I texted Bill and asked if he could line up a crew to come out first thing in the morning. 5 minutes later, Bill called and guided me through a series of questions and checks I could perform safely at home which led to a diagnosis that the problem was a faulty line that Pepco would be responsible for. He coached me on how to file a report and get them to respond that night due to safety concerns. It worked like a charm! The power company came out and my problem was addressed. Bill and his people go above and beyond for their customers. I can't recommend them highly enough! Hire Hyman Electric and you will get long term high quality service and support!

We love Hyman Electric! We will not have anyone else work on our electrical work. The guys are personable, professional, quick, and flexible. Having an older home, we have had to hire multiple companies to repair. Hyman Electric was the only company that wore shoe covers, without me even asking. They respected our home like it was their own. I tried moving things to make their job easier and they worked around so I didn’t have to lift a finger. They even closed the baby gates! Other contractors either took them down for their convenience or asked me to. We are so grateful to have found such a reliable and trustworthy company.

From my initial contact with the owner Bill to the very thorough and professional breaker box inspection I just had performed by his stellar technicians Jeremy and Kevin everything was done with exemplary attention to detail and with highest level communication skills. The county inspector praised their 200 amp "heavy-up" and electrical panel upgrade. The inspector said that it was very clean work.

They ran new electrical cables to install our ceiling fans and bathroom exhaust vent. They protected our furniture and even wore plastic booties to protect our floors.

We were referred to Hyman Electric by friends. We saw the glowing reviews online and Bill was extremely informative when we first spoke. We had been in our new house for only a few months. It was built in 1952 and rehabbed/expanded in 2006. Dual zone HVAC/heat pumps were added in 2015, a generator in 2016 and we were effectively bursting at the seams power-wise wanting to add an electric pool heater when Bill recommended we “heavy up” from 200 to 400 amp service. We initially had them upgrade a circuit for our new electric induction oven, then Bill started the planning for the “heavy up”. Pepco did a field inspection then Bill wrote up the contract. Jeremy and Kevin were there right away and did the inside circuit panel work as well as the outside meter panel and connection work in a couple of days, and they were able to run our generator which eliminated a loss of power while they did their work. The County inspector commented on their great work. And Bill coordinated all the steps from initiating and managing the process with Pepco, scheduling the County inspection, to the cutover with Pepco, which Bill and crew’s wiring installation allowed us to use the generator and avoid a long power outage. Superb work overall. I thank Bill for the power up suggestion and wholly recommend that procedure and having Bill and his crew perform the job!

Jeremy and his partner (forgot his name) expertly diagnosed and repaired an issue with old wiring in a crowded electrical box and associated 3-way switch. They also described a safety and building code issue with an outdated electrical panel with Pushmatic circuit breakers.

As a result I had the panel and replaced and upgraded my service which went smoothly, timely and efficiently.

If you want to be assured the job is done properly and professionally and will pass the County Inspection then this is the place to go.
