I am the new GM for 1150 K Street Condos, and one of my first tasks when I started in April was to work with RESCON to get a mitigation/remediation job completed that was held up by an uncooperative unit owner. I will tell you this was a doozy of a task, but once I communicated with Samantha and got all the details and experienced her knowledge of the situation, it was easy to see she would be the catalyst to getting this job completed and off my very full plate.

Not only was she patient while I went through the channels to get access to the unit, she guided me on what steps we needed to take to collaborate with all contractors involved to get the job done.

On top of all of that she was just a pleasure to work with, her personality witty and responsive blended well with mine and we tagged teamed this job to completion.

Though I hope not to have an issue like this again; it would be my absolute pleasure and first choice to work with Samantha and RESCON!

Fantastic service, will choose again! Chad, Harry and Alex were very communicative and friendly. RESCON fixed a hole in our kitchen ceiling from water damage. Oscar who did the work and painting did an EXCELLENT job, he even fixed the edging of the ceiling paint and it looked better than before the water damage.

Just as the company motto says, damage to your home is stressful and interrupts your life. They could add it’s also emotional. We’ve lived through construction projects in our home we’ve owned for 30 years. It was never a pleasant experience. Of all times right before Christmas, we had a plumbing issue destroy 1/3 of our home. When you have to live with your house turned upside down it’s stressful, there is no way to avoid that, but working with Harry we had nothing to worry about. He knew exactly what need to be done to restore our home, observing all of the major and minor details. He also knew exactly how long it would take. Harry’s crew was on time every day, polite and eager to please. The construction on our home took about 6 weeks so we did spend a good deal of time together and that really says something. The end result is our home is perfectly restored and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you Rescon!

My experience with Rescon as they continue to work on a repair to my home has been lengthy and drawn out. The service we’ve received is not personal, and our overall customer experience has been unacceptable. We’ve been given a lot of excuses, met with lack of flexibility from the project manager (Samantha), inconsistent communication, and many late arrivals by contractors used by the company. We’ve had our project delayed, and then back on just to have a contractor come out and is unable to do his part of the project because he was not advised on the work he would be completing which made Rescon look incompetent. I really don’t want to write a negative review but I want others to know what they may experience when working with this company. I’m not sure if this is because of the project manager or a reflection of the company itself however if my home is ever damaged again USAA will definitely need to send a different company to complete the repairs. Hope we finish this project soon because my son has been unable to use his bedroom since October 2021. Just had higher expectations.

In my opinion, RESCON tried to cheat me, but I caught them before they could. RESCON wrote an estimate based on specific work that had to be done. The estimate said that due to the nature of mold they might encounter additional work that would incur additional cost. Then to start work they sent me an agreement that said something like, "due to the emergency nature of this work we don't know what it will cost so we're charging you time and materials." I called to ask why they consider mold an emergency, and why they gave me an itemized estimate with an expected dollar amount then switched to time and materials for the work order." To clarify, the work agreement did not say, "We will do this much work for this much money, and get your approval for additional work if necessary." It said, "We're just going to keep working until we say we're finished, and then charge you however much that happens to be without getting your approval first." The difference is subtle, but huge. I thought they made a small mistake by sending me the wrong work agreement so I called to ask them to send one that allowed me to approve any work beyond what was in the original estimate. Instead, they said something like, "We've dealt with people like you before. You'll probably fight us instead of paying us." So they sent my deposit back and refused to do business with me. They kept the estimate fee that they charged me to do the initial estimate. I believe that this specific office are a bunch of crooks. I ended up going with SERVPRO in Virginia. They didn't charge to do the initial estimate, and they were much better to work with. They still weren't perfect though.

READ the fine print before signing anything with anyone!

RESCON water mitigation services was arranged by my insurance company to address mitigation needed for a water leak. RESCON sent a crew within an hour or so to begin cleanup and returned the following day with a large crew to complete demo of damaged flooring. I would give RESCON 5 stars for initial response and water cleanup /demo time. However...

I feel as though the company is overly ambitious in their demo as they bill by item removed. My husband stopped them from tearing out our kitchen cabinets, after they broke a toekick board. Had he not stopped them we would be without a kitchen for months until restoration work is scheduled.

The crew also put a hole in the middle of one of my walls, and when I provided photos to RESCON and inquired about addressing the hole, the company responded by saying their management agrees they cannot determine who is responsible for the damage, but as a courtesy would send someone to patch it. They patched the hole, however didn't paint it to match the surrounding wall. I can't recommend a company who sends large crews of 10+ people into someone's home then shirks responsibility for damage, offering to partially bring things back to pre-damaged condition as a "courtesy."

The cost, although in my case covered by my insurance, was enormous at over $9k for a large crew to clean up water, then spend one day to remove baseboard, floating wood flooring, and underlayment as well as set up very loud air moving equipment to dry the area after which they removed a couple weeks later.

Rescon came to the rescue for mold, wet damage and roof repairs done by a storm last year from the current insurance company. This was my first claim that I ever made for my home. James and Harry made sure that the job was done and completed in a timely fashion. They both went above and beyond to make sure I got the best customer service that Rescon offered. I was able to develop great relationships with all partnering parties. I will recommend them to others. I will call on them again. I look forward to working with Rescon in the future even if it's not a claim. Thank you so much! My family and I are happy with the service. Tonya Jackson

Rescon was contracted by my insurance company to repair water damage from a faulty refrigerator that damaged hardwood floors, carpeting, and a basement ceiling. The repairs required the removal of two floors of furniture, with Rescon also handled, From the very beginning, the entire Rescon staff made the process seamless and as painless as possible. They had maintained excellent communication throughout the repairs, and worked with us to ensure that we were satisfied with the end product. I was very impressed and appreciative of their whole team, and wouldn’t hesitate to contact them again.

I wish zero stars were an option.
Our insurance company recommended Rescon when we had a fire on our property and needed repairs and replacements. The communication has been generally abhorrent, the attitudes condescending, and the work poor quality. Each repair has taken numerous corrections due to Rescon doing what they want, rather than listening to us, the homeowners. Rarely is there any advance notice someone is coming to the property, and we are more often told than asked when they’ll be needing to meet with us. We’ve refused to sign as work completed as the items in the estimate they submitted for insurance payments haven’t been completed, and Rescon is becoming more challenging to work with. As we attempt to escalate to reach a final resolution, we receive only gaslighting and attempted manipulation from the organization, becoming less professional the higher up the chain we get. 5 months since the fire and we continue to “disagree” with Rescon about what has or hasn’t been done as they press harder for us to sign the paperwork so they can get paid- going as far as to make comments like “where do you think the money comes from. We fronted all this and now we need to be paid” as though their bad business practices are our problem.
We highly recommend you look elsewhere for a contractor and project management team that will treat you with respect and concern. Rescon is not that place.

I would like to give a huge Thank You to Samantha Nicholson (Sam) for her timely, professional and efficient commitment in providing oversight to the installation of my kitchen ceiling, painting of my kitchen and family room, and installation of my vanity and floors in my master bathroom. Sam made this project seem easy; she kept me informed of when the crew would arrive, when products would arrive and discussed next steps throughout the entire process. But what I appreciated most of all was her professionalism. Outstanding customer service from Sam and the team of people that assisted her. They went above and beyond to ensure I was completely satisfied. I am extremely happy with the completed project! Thank you Sam and Thank you RESCON!

Thank you RESCON team for coming out tonight to mitigate my water damage. This team arrived within a very short time of being assigned. Deontae, Quinton and Tim were very professional, thorough and ensured all of my questions were answered. Outstanding!

RESCON was contracted by our insurance company to repair our living room ceiling and laundry room after we had water damage from our leaking washer. We were on a tight timeline for repairs as we had family coming into in a few days. Harry answered our call on a Saturday while out of the office and provided outstanding customer service. By Monday, Harry and his contractor completed a walk-through of our home to visualize the repairs that needed to be done and by the end of the day on Tuesday, our ceiling and laundry room were in mint condition. RESCON did an outstanding job in a short period of time. I highly recommend RESCON for anyone seeking help with restoration or home repairs!!!

Rescon was great! Megan (amazing) worked tirelessly with us to ensure things were moving along and to minimize our disruption to life. TK was always responsive and helpful. When he was on site I knew we were in good hands. I was pleased that we were able to stay with Rescon the entire time from pack up to reloading everything back in. Pack out was done efficiently and the repack team (Timothy, Juan and Melvin) went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and had everything where we wanted it. Wally and his team got reconstruction done in less than 2 weeks! Everyone at Rescon was polite and professional. Always quick to respond and resolve any issues. This situation was a nightmare but Rescon was there with a cup of cocoa and assurance that everything was going to be ok! I hope to never go through something like this again but if I do, Rescon is my first call.
