Was delighted by my work with Build Design Center on two residential baths. Emre K. was the designer and offered great ideas to bring my vision to life. Onur B. was the project manager; he ran a great crew, was responsive and adapted quickly to my requests, including a last minute change order. Thanks to the whole team; I'm really pleased with the result.

Got my kitchen remodeled and was very happy with the result. Nadide and Becca made the design and layout easy! Their attention to detail and involvement in the design decisions was great and helped make things run smooth.

BDC did a great job on my kitchen and primary bath remodel in a DC condo. From the start of my conversation, Emre was very responsive setting up appointments and hearing and understanding my wants and needs. He provided the options and selections to make my dream come true for a spectacular finished product. Atabey project managed the condo association approval, permitting and demolition keeping me apprised of the activity and open issues. When DC finally issued permits (with a nudge from my councilwoman’s constituent services team) the project got started very quickly. Onur took over the project while atabey was out on paternity leave and took it over the finish line. While the knowledge transfer may have been a bit more detailed, we were able to overcome that quickly. Onur is very personable and very responsive to email and text messages. While the project took a bit longer than anticipated, the quality of work was good, Onur clearly explained the challenges and kept the team focused so that the follow-up punch list was relatively short. Scheduling to complete the open issues was easy and timely. Overall, this was a great experience resulting in a one of a kind result.

Cann Construction has honestly been an excellent experience. They were recommended to me by an architect friend, and they absolutely lived up to that recommendation. They are incredibly professional, responsive, and delivered result. Of course, like any project, there were a few delays and minor misunderstandings along the way, but what stood out was how smoothly and professionally everything was handled. That level of communication and accountability makes all the difference.
What impressed me most, though, is the after-service. Any time I’ve had a small issue, they’ve been quick to respond and resolve it without hesitation. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to use them again.

Bella & her team are amazing! They were wonderful during our renovation and project. Made the process so much easier and their work is gorgeous.

I had originally decided to move past this until I recently saw a social media post and then saw our project on the Cann Construction site. I realized that I would be remiss if I did not share our negative experience if a company would be so bold to prominently display and proudly highlight a project that went so terribly wrong, coupled with they did not ask our permission to post our home on social media or their site.

We were referred to Cann Construction from our architect and they were not our only bid, nor least expensive, but the referral, plus Bella’s initial follow through, passion for the project, knowledge, and timeliness was refreshing in a contractor. We shared our budget, but expressed multiple times that what was most important was the quality and that the pool house match our home with the design and feel. All went very well in the beginning as we struggled with architect drawing delays, but once we really got into the project, it became apparent that Cann Construction was way over their head in the ability to execute this according to how they present themselves as being meticulous and having the experience to handle the complexity of the project. Frankly, it was even basic construction that was not executed properly, which resulted in us having to bring in other sub-contractors to repair their work.

It started with a pump being placed outside (that needed to be inside) without consulting with us first of the change, then charging us with the change order to put it back inside. The installation of stone was incorrect and the only reason it is not falling off the wall today is because of us watching a You-Tube video of how it should be applied to metal lathe and just happening to be home the day they were installing to realize it was being done incorrectly. After bringing in another contractor, they realized it was being done incorrectly which caused delays in the project while they fixed it. We had paint issues, plus numerous electrical issues and failed inspections. Indoor cabinets were quoted for an outdoor project—again something that should have never happened and could have been construed as under bidding a project. The construction of the foundation of the bar to support the countertop was done incorrectly. It was only when Bella came out and the cabinets came off the wall that she realized we were correct. It took another contractor to fix this. The only element that I can say went smoothly was the tile work and that was because I was there to explain the design. To see that posted on their site is insulting as they had nothing to do with it. To add insult to injury, near the end, Bella tried to back out of the project, which would have meant us having to engage another plumber to finish and open a new permit, but she knew that no one would have taken this project on at the point we were at. To Cann’s credit, they did come back out timely and complete punch list items and correct the final issues.

I really hate to bash a business as I know there are issues and growing pains, but how this was ended, without a follow up from her, an acknowledgement to us of this could have been handled differently, even a sincere apology at the end. All we got was “in a few months, this will be a distant memory and you will forget all about this.” Unfortunately, no, we have not, and seeing it on this page brought it all back. It is sad that due to all the issues, our fear is that in the next year or two, the pool house is going to go sliding down the hill due to poor construction.

We have completed several projects with Cann Construction and have loved the outcome of each. Bella McCann, Principal, has created a company unafraid to master custom work for our clients and consistent growth year-over-year. Her team is not only skilled at construction, but also timeline focused and responsive with good backend systems in place. I feel confident that both my company and my clients best interests are top of mind for Cann Construction when completing a project together and we look forward to the next.

Bella and team completed a renovation of our home that included taking the kitchen and a bathroom down the studs, moving windows and walls, redoing a staircase, and then doing a refurb on the entire rest of the house (including paint, hardwoods, etc.). What I was looking for in a contractor was timeliness, good communication, and quality of product, and I can say they delivered on all accounts. We are thrilled with the quality of the work, and most of it came in on time. The pieces that didn't happen on time were clearly beyond their control (supply chain issues with suppliers leftover from COVID), and they were great about communicating about them, letting us know the status, and making temporary fixes while we waited.

Bella, Ivan and her team were always available by text if I had a question, and they explained things patiently and in a way that actively involved me in the decision making. Letting someone tear holes in your home is a BIG deal, and much more emotional that I was expecting. I felt like I had a true partner in that journey and not just a vendor. I deeply appreciated them and would call them again for anything!

I worked with Bella to rennovate the kitchen of my old historic home in Georgetown. She did an amazing job- literally working off of a photo from a catalogue and a few pictures that I loved for inspiration.

She even went as far as to come to my home to review the space while I was considering purchasing the home to help give me a sense of how much a rennovation like that would cost before I moved in.

One thing I grately appreciated from Bella is that she has a wonderful sense of style. While she isn't an interior decorator, she was able to find items that she thought I would like based on my photos, and present them to me for final selection. This definitely saved me a lot of money in the long term.

Like any construction projects, we ran into hiccups. Bella's team was responsive and always resolved the issue.

We had a great experience with Cann Construction who put our place back together after some required waterproofing. We are thrilled with the quality of work, how quickly it got done, and how easy it was to communicate with the team.

Bella, Ivan and their team have been looking after our house for three and a half years and we are very pleased with their service. Recently, they just did some great repair work fixing a few areas with water damage and now everything looks perfect. In Jan 2021, when we bought the house, Bella and team repainted the house top to bottom and reconstructed some rooms - perfect finished result and all done virtually. Highly recommend them for construction and maintenance.

I have used Bella with her former company and now Cann Construction, and love working with her. In fact, I had her look at a place with me before buying last year, to see what was possible.
All of her workers are top notch, they end up teaching me a lot about my jobs! They’re trustworthy, skilled, creative- just the kinds of people you want in your home. I recommend them, and I recommend her recommendations when they can’t take your job - she has always found me someone great.

Bella and her team renovated our new home on time and on budget. They got all the work done so we could move into our new home as scheduled. The renovation included electrical, plumbing, painting, tile, and carpentry work. They installed recessed lighting and chandeliers, redesigned and repainted all the kitchen cabinets, built bookcases, installed crown molding, closed up walls (matching existing woodwork) to create a new closet, redesigned the bar in the downstairs living room, installed cabinets in the garage, and painted almost every room in the house. Bella had an excellent overseer who coordinated all the subcontractors and was easy to deal with on a daily basis. She herself was also totally available via phone, text or email to discuss the project. We highly recommend .

I am so pleased with the recent baseboard heater installation that Cann construction did for me. I was able to have the electrician do the install and the same day another crew came to repair the drywall and to repaint the wall. Great service, great work and very skilled crews. For the first time since moving into my house my first floor isn't freezing cold. Highly recommend Cann construction.

I’m very very pleased with both my interactions and the work done by Cann Construction. I’ve had less than positive results with several past contractors. So I went into my basement project with a certain amount of trepidation. Bella Cann and her staff have totally turned that around. They understood what I was trying to accomplish, were respectful of my budget and gave me an outstanding results. I couldn’t be happier with both the construction process and the finished project. I recommend Cann Construction without qualifications. It’s a great company doing great work.

My family and I recently completed a significant renovation of our living room at our Capitol Hill row house, and we are thrilled with the results achieved by the amazing team at Cann Construction. I had worked with Verl Dyer, the owner of DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen NW DC some years ago when I moved into my apartment and had various rehab projects. Recently when I needed to purchase and install new kitchen cabinets I luckily found that Verl Dyer and his teams were still available as DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen NW DC. Now as in the past I found Verl and his team to be utterly reliable, transparent, efficient, and helpful. I will definitely use DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen of NW DC for future projects.

The DreamMaker team supervised by Verl did a wonderful job recaulking and fixing the tiles and polishing the marble in our master bathroom. Everything was done efficiently and professionally. We highly recommend them.
