Called to have some R410A refrigerant put in a Mitsubishi Minisplit. They said they wouldn't service it unless they installed the unit.

Just an FYI to everyone, not to bother calling them if they didn't install your units. This is what their homepage says; it doesn't say what they told me on the phone:

Polar Bear did a fantastic installation of my roof-top unit, complete with massive crane that brought out all the neighbors to ooh and awe. A month later, the system stopped working. They changed their entire work schedule the next day to come take care of it. A fuse had blown. They fixed it and everything works perfectly. Then I got their bill : $0.00!!!! Thank you Polar Bear!

We had to replace our dying, 18-year-old high-velocity heat pump system in a 1936 brick colonial with a tiny space and a cramped attic. I'm so glad we went with Polar Bear. They were extremely responsive, helpful, and patient in explaining all the details of our current system and the new one. Joe Kelly worked to source a unit nearby so that they could get the job done quickly and put a double crew on the job so they could get it done in a day. The crew was professional, expert, polite, and did a great job, including leaving a clean space behind and showing me how to use the new thermostat. It's not cheap to install these systems, but we made a great choice with Polar Bear!

We evaluated a number of local firms to install a new heating and hot water system in a relative’s older home in DC and choose Comfort Heating due to a combination of consultation, expertise, recommendations and a fair price. Troy Bakker is a personable, friendly expert in his system recommendation of a system and is a considerate, respectful person in helping deal with the special needs family member living in this the house that had fallen into disrepair over a number of years.

Troy identified several types and brands of heating systems, including the one we had researched – the Navien NFC-H Combi-Boiler, the one we ultimately choose. The Navien is a very high efficiency combination tankless hot water heater and hot water boiler for the whole house heating, and perfectly sized for the small space we had available for installation.

Removal of the old equipment and installation of the new equipment was fast, clean and efficient. The plumbing job itself was a work of art! Highlights Troy’s craft and expertise.

Once the Heating system was installed and operational, we discovered several other plumbing services were necessary – replacement of a toilet, running a water supply line, replacement of a very old water valve/diverter in the bath tub, replacement of a leaky valve – all the additional work was conducted quickly and with a minimum of downtime.

The work was professionally conducted, Troy is respectful of the residents and very easy to work with. The overall results fully met our expectations, and all conducted at a fair, reasonable price.

We will without hesitation recommend Troy and Comfort Heating & Cooling in all boiler repair/replacement and general plumbing work needs in the DC area.

Our insurance company recommended this place to fix a leaking pvc pipe above our shower in the basement. The plumber Troy Bakker inspected the pipe then went to his truck to call then insurance company to get us approved. He said the insurance company denied us because the pipe was installed incorrectly. We called the insurance company and they said Troy Bakker told them that the pipe was installed incorrectly. Do not do business with this company. I feel as though the guy didn't want to do the work and still get paid the $75 fee just to come out to inspect.

Troy did an excellent job from start to finish with diagnosing and fixing our AC when it wouldn’t turn on. I was able to reach him immediately with a phone call and he arrived at our home within a couple hours. He thoroughly examined our thermostat wiring and the machinery in our utility closet (and was also ready to climb thirty feet to the AC unit on the roof if needed) to determine that the fault lay with the thermostat itself. He had a new thermostat ready in his truck and installed it within minutes. He was professional and helpful throughout the entire encounter and gave us some advice for future maintenance of our appliances as well. We will be sure to call him again with any future issues!

Mr Mahmoud give me an excellent service on my HVAC unit that he installed, I just bought the place and I thought everything was working fine and this huge expense came up, his company gave me a reasonable price that is affordable to me, I will highly recommend his services to the public, Mr Mahmoud thank you for your patience dealing with my too many questions 😀about this unit and the last but not the least for replacing the “too complicated so hard to understand thermostat “ that I have to an easy one. Moe was extremley polite and proffessional. He explained everything clearly and was very courteous and expedient. He even gave us some great tips!

He gave me a 4 hour window and missed it. Then when he finally went to what he thought was my address (30 minutes late), it was an incorrect address across town. Even though he had the correct address in writing. Complete incompetence and wasted an entire half day.

Thank you for servicing and repairing my AC! The technician came out at the scheduled time, and was very responsive and professional. It took some time after a few attempts and working with the manufacturer, but overall he was extremely patient and resolved the issue. I would recommend for sure. Thank you so much!

Couldn’t be happier w the service we received by Moe and United HVAC. Did a great job, was incredibly professional, fixed our HVAC issue and triple checked that everything was running perfectly. Would hire again 100% for the next issue.

My heat wasn't working and the company immediately sent someone out to diagnose the issue. The technician determined the cause of the issue, filed the claim through my insurance, and followed up to make sure the request was processed in a timely manner. He even went out of his way to install my nest thermostat, which no other company was able to do successfully because of my complicated HVAC and heat pump systems.

Had an issue with my AC. Left a message for them on a Sunday and, Moe who is one of their technicians called me right back. He came over the same day, and was able to do a temporary fix, and he ordered the part and came the week after with his group to finish the job.
They are very honest, polite, clean and provide reasonable prices and options. I would highly recommend them.

United HVac was amazing. They are honest, hard working, and thorough. When our system went down we had another company servicing our hvac. We were given what we perceived to be a high quote. When we called United HVAC they sent someone immediately. Diagnosed our problem, clearly communicated what was wrong and then had a great price to solve our issue. They explained why we didn’t need what someone else was trying to sell us. Felt like they cared about us and not their wallet. The work was done quickly and correctly. I called United Hvac LLC for service for my AC and heating units. I had a great experience all the way through the process. My call was returned shortly after I put in a request. I was scheduled an appointment the very next morning. I received quality work. The technician was very pleasant and reasonable. I would highly recommend this company to others!

We had multiple companies come out to take a look at our split unit. After months of no AC or heat, we were finally able to replace the unit with United HVAC. Mahmoud came out and really impressed us with his knowledge, kindness, and professionalism. Highly recommend for all things HVAC.

Our A/C units failed and United HVAC responded and repaired the first A/C unit. The home interior temperatures reached 90+ degree prior to United HVAC response and repair. The insurance company contacted United HVAC and provided the part needed to repair the second A/C unit. United HVAC was here this next morning with the new part repairing the second A/C unit. The technician was very professional, outgoing, and competent. A first class company that cares and values it customer. They are the only company I will call for any A/C issues. Unbeatable service!
