When our heat went out, I made a list of 11 local heating and a/c companies. After five calls, McMurray was the only one which appreciated that this was an emergency (to us) and sent someone that afternoon. Turned out our entire HVAC system had to be replaced. Mr. McMurray worked with us to find financing to replace the system. The technician was highly competent, professional and easy to work with. They showed up on time and installed better system than we had before. We are very grateful for what they did for us.

I came home yesterday evening and discovered my AC was not working. I found McMurrays on Google and requested an AC repair ASAP. I was able to have my unit serviced this morning. Linwood was pleasant and very knowledgeable. He helped me to understand why I was having a problem and how to prevent it in the future. He even pointed out some other repairs I'll need to take care of outside of my HVAC system. I'm so thankful that he was able to get my AC up and running quickly. I will definitely reach out to McMurray's for my future HVAC needs.

McMurrays saved the day. My heater broke (on a 17 degree winter day) and needed to be replaced. They showed up on the same day and replaced the furnace the very next day. The new heat furnace is from a top of the line manufacturer and they replaced my old thermostat with a nicely designed touch-screen thermostat that can be adjusted in person or connected to my wifi/phone. Based on my research, I found that their pricing to be good. And their response time was the best. Thank You Mcmurrays. I would not hesitate to recommend them. They are an HVAC specialist that should be "starred" in your contacts.

Our air conditioning unit was not working efficiently. I called McMurrays HVAC and was pleasantly surprised that they could come out the same day. When our technician came, I was equally surprised that it was Mr. McMurray himself who came out to service us. He was very professional, fixed our problem and gave recommendations on what we should be doing to maintain our system. There was no attempt to upsell. Unlike many service providers, he came well within the appointed time frame and even called when he was on his way. We have nothing but good things to say about his professionalism and knowledge and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of HVAC services!!!

We have had nothing but great experiences with the McMurrays Heating & AC team. We have regularly used them for annual cleaning and serving and they were able to extend the life of our system longer than expected. We did just have to do a complete replacement and they were incredibly responsive (even on the weekend!) and were able to get us a new system that is much more efficient and quieter in less than 3 days. Such a relief in the heat of summer. Highly recommend them!

Air Conditioning Unit kept going out over the last 2 weeks.. I gave McMurray Heating & AC a call and they sent a technician out in a very timely manner to do an analysis and within a few hours the root cause was determined along with a solution to replace the mother board. At a very fair price the replacement was installed extremely quickly (Same Day) and my AC unit has been working as expected every since the technicians came.. THANK YOU!! Highly recommend!!!

McMurrays was very timely with coming out for a same-day request, and they had great customer service—-explained and showed us the issues with our HVAC unit, so we had a thorough understanding.

McMurrays was responsive and came to check out our HVAC unit on the same day that I called. They were able to diagnose and fix the cause of an unusual humming noise that another HVAC company just blew off. The tech also cleaned out unit, did some maintenance work, and even cleaned off our sky lights while he was on the roof. I appreciate their quality of care and prompt service. Would definitely recommend if you have HVAC issues.

I would only consider McMurray Heating and Air in the future. Hands down most credible, highly responsive and honest service business I’ve ever used. I was without A/C for over a month after being advised by two different HVAC companies to replace my unit, I decided to contact a third company that decided to try to repair my unit. After an additional 2 weeks of service calls I was still without Air. I contacted McMurray Heating and Air and they were able to accurately diagnose and identify the issues with my HVAC System. McMurray Heating and Air was able to successfully repair my unit without any issues. They educated me on the importance of proper maintenance to protect my investment in the equipment saving me thousands of dollars on costly replacement recommendations by other untrustworthy.

I had a issue with our furnace that set off the our fire alarm. I called an HVAC company who identified the problem (replace control board and fan motor) but recommended that we replace our entire HVAC unit. I called McMurrays who told me that the control board needed replacedment but the underlying issue was that the entire system needed to be cleaned, including the fan motor. McMurrays also provided duct cleaning services. The cleaning technicians showed me the large build up of dust in the the duct as well as the furnace assembly as well as mold! They took photos of the system before and after cleaning. Now we have a smooth running system and are breathing cleaner air. I appreciate McMurrays for identifying the underlying problem and repairing the system so that we can get the most use out of our current system.

Such a pleasure to do business with McMurrarys. Made a call regarding the AC unit not cooling and a technician was sent out the following to access the issue. Was provided with a quote, pictures of the issue, and the options to fix now and what also could be done in the future. The decision to resolve the issue as a whole was no problem at all. McMurrays was right on the job and had the new HVAC system ordered and installed all within a matter of seven days. Very professional, knowledgeable, and excellent customer service.

McMurray’s has been a reliable HVAC company for me. Over the past 5 years they have provided fast high quality service. Whenever you need them they answer the call. They have trustworthy expertise. Recently I needed my HVAC system replaced. On Sunday they provided the estimate and ordered the system. By Tuesday of the same week they had a contractor come out and install new duct work(pictured) by Thursday morning they were there to install the new unit outside and inside (pictured). The installation comes with a dependable warranty. Now I have a peace of mind for the next 15-20 years. Thank you again to McMurray’s.

When they tell you that you need a new HVAC, get a second opinion! And then let others know they tried to swindle you too.

These guys came out to check our HVAC during the heat wave in DC 2019. The guy replaced the capacitor and the HVAC “still didnt work”. The fan did not turn so he claimed that the fan needed to be replaced and the freon needed to be “topped off”. So after running the numbers to repair. $300 for a capacitor, $800-900 for a new fan and $200 per pound of freon (he’s have to investigate how much freon we’d need). He then explained that the freon needed for this specific unit would be pulled from the shelves next year. So if it breaks again, there is nothing they could do... So at the end of the day, it would be best for us to get a completely new HVAC system. I got pretty suspicious when I heard It would take 5-7 days to repair and 1-2 days for a full replacement. The very next day, bright and early, another guy from Polar came out to give us the estimate for a full replacement saying a team to be at our door step the following morning.

We got second opinion. Later that day, a guy from Roger Miller’s HVAC came out to check out the unit. Not 6 minutes after walking through the front door, he had our HVAC system up and running. Problem: capacitor. Cost $120.
It amazes me that Polar Bear is allowed to operate in this area.

Not a fan. I explained on the phone what the issue was at my home. I paid $160 for them to come out for an estimate; they saw the same exact issue I explained on the phone and determined they could not complete the work. So basically, I paid $160 to tell them exactly what the problem was over the phone, they came out and saw that was the problem, then charged me $160 to tell me they couldn't work on the same problem they could have determined over the phone. I don't recommend this company in the slightest.

I manage a 150+ year old converted townhouse in DC. Polar Bear AC provides fast service to fix our heating and AC, along with annual service visits to make sure things are working. highly recommend!
