We interviewed a lot of porch builders before deciding on McWhorter Construction to build us a screened in porch, mudroom, and side entrance, and we're certain we made the right choice! The entire team (Ryan McWhorter (owner) and the crew that actually built our porch - Greg, Gage, and Alex) was professional and capable from start to finish. The end product is beautiful, the workmanship is excellent, and the team couldn't have been friendlier. The crew was clearly highly skilled, very communicative through the whole process, took time to listen and advise, and were honestly just the nicest group of guys that could ever show up. We get many compliments and a lot of use out of this space, just as promised!

It’s been an eventful 4 months for us as we are at the end of our project with McWhorter Construction and we are not ones that write reviews typically, but we felt compelled to share. We are thrilled with the design and the outcome of the kitchen and screened porch project that Ryan and the team at McWhorter truly helped us on. We cannot say enough about the team Ryan has put together and with Greg, Gage and the team aligned with our vision, the project came together flawlessly. Their attention to detail in the design and their unwillingness to let things slide by has really made the project a breeze and provided comfort knowing we were always on the same page. I cannot say enough good things about the core team (Greg, Gage, James and Devon), their communication, their professionalism and their ability to not only help us think through issues but problem solve in a way that is mutually beneficial. I also want to call out the other on the team as well, from electric to cabinets to flooring, the entire team had our best interest in their work – those types of contractors and people are hard to find, so well done Ryan and team!!! We are not quite ready for our next project, but will look to McWhorter when we are.

They are a highly skilled crew who worked extremely well together. They showed up on time every day and left the job site clean at the end of every day. They communicated well with us every step of the way. Their pride in their work and attention to detail is outstanding. Our screened in porch turned out better than we could have imagined. McWhorter Outdoor Living built us an amazing deck! Ryan's carpentry skills are matched only by his design acumen. He helped us figure out the best possible layout based on some quirky existing features. Then he guided us through the material selection process to help us find the look we wanted within our budget. Once the build started, Ryan was a constant presence during the build, and Greg and his team were top notch too. They worked quickly and cleaned up at the end of every day. They passed the inspection on the first visit and we were sipping cocktails on the deck before the weather turned cool. Outstanding work in all facets by McWhorter Outdoor Living. Can't wait to get them back in for the next project!

We had a vision and McWhorter Construction made it happen!! Our project manager, Greg, and the amazing cast of subcontractors made the past 5 months a great and rewarding experience! We were incredibly impressed with the professionalism, respect, and amazing attention to detail all of the men and women that entered our home showed us. We recently hired McWhorter Construction to rebuild our aging deck with a new screened porch. We could not be happier with the result and every aspect of our decision to work with them.

From the very first day, the level of professionalism has far exceeded any other contractors we have worked with. From the design process with Ryan, to breaking ground, to project completion, the experience has been exceptional and has demonstrated to us how construction projects should be performed. The onsite team led by Gage, and including James, Rungo and Luis, was professional, hard-working and knowledgeable. It was immediately clear to us that they take pride in the quality of their work and they even came in ahead of schedule. Greg managed the project to perfection, with permits, materials and sub contractors all lined up to be available when they were needed, and communications with everyone involved was continuous throughout.

Our only hesitation in writing this review is that it may make it harder to hire them again for future projects.

We were referred to McWhorter Construction through neighbors and it did not disappoint! We had the best experience working with Ryan for our screened-in porch, deck, and patio! He helped us create a design for our backyard that fits our family’s needs and is absolutely gorgeous! We were equally happy with Travis (our project manager) and his team (Edwin, Darwin, & Robbin) who were extremely polite, professional, and so easy to work with. Ryan and Travis did an exceptional job keeping us informed of progress and changes throughout the process. We could not be happier with the end result! Highly recommend!!!

McWhorter Construction exceeded our expectations with every piece of our home remodel. Ours was a major project, impacting several parts of the house, interior and exterior. In each phase, over the past six months Greg and his team, Gage, Alex and James were true professionals. They are skilled craftsman who took great pride in their work, and performed various complex jobs with ease. Each phase was scheduled to move them along, as well as to minimize disruption to our lives. Daily communication with Greg Lee, the Project Manager could not have been better. We always felt he had our best interests at heart. When working on the interior they installed plastic barrier walls to minimize dust and they cleaned up daily, including the mopping of floors. We were very happy with the subcontractors, McWhorter chose, with their scheduling and with the oversight and follow up that Greg had with them.

There were no price changes introduced by McWhorter Construction during the project, and change orders introduced by us were consistently priced fairly.

We wake up every morning now and are amazed that this is actually our home. We cannot say enough good things about McWhorter Construction, from our initial meeting with Ryan, down to the crew that made living through a complicated remodel easy!

McWhorter Construction recently completed our screened porch, deck and garage addition. The whole process, start to finish, was professional and the quality is outstanding! Working closely with the architect, Ryan was highly responsive and available every time we had a question. Although, we had very few questions or concerns throughout. Ryan and the crew, led by Greg, had excellent vision and foresight to trouble shoot and avoid problems. The team at McWhorter Construction are professional and easy to work with top to bottom. From meetings with the owner to review details, to frequent check ins with the project manager and professional conversations with the daily crew, the whole team does a great job. Edwin's crew did our tear down/rebuild expanded deck and screen porch and made sure everything was to our liking. Everyone was very friendly and professional and they made it easy on the customer. Exceptional; Ryan and his team are first class! For well over a year we searched for a contractor who could translate our vision for a screened porch into reality.

It was extremely important to us that the porch appear as if it was part of the original construction of our home and not an add on. We met with several well-known contractors in the county, but none accurately captured the vision we had. Thinking we were going to have to settle, we were about to sign with one of those contractors when luckily, we came across Ryan. Man... what a fantastic break for us!

During our first meeting with Ryan, we could tell right away that he got it, and boy did his team nail it! My wife and I were pleased with everything from beginning to end. They exceeded our expectations, and the finished product is exactly what we envisioned.

Ryan's team led by Project Manager Greg, was outstanding. They were punctual, kept us informed throughout, seamlessly integrated all of the phases of the construction (inspections, materials, electrical, roofing, etc.) and cleaned up every day.
The crew was top notch, however if anything fell short of McWhorter's quality standards, Greg ensured it was immediately corrected. As a veteran I was very impressed with their attention to detail. Not only did this team finish on budget they completed the job 2 weeks early.

Nothing but positive things to say about McWhorter Construction. Ryan quickly, efficiently and collaboratively helped us design a wonderful living space in our tricky backyard. We have been scratching our heads on what to do out there for 10+ years, and now we have a huge living space to gather friends and family.
When the project started Gage, Greg and their crew were incredible from day 1. Hardworking, polite and respectful of our surrounding neighbors. No question or ask was ever a problem. Gage went above and beyond to make sure he communicated with us day-to-day and wanted us to be comfortable with the progress of the job at each step. It was evident he and his team take extreme pride in their work - as they should - the porch turned out beautifully! We are thrilled.

We absolutely love our house designed by Jonathan Rivera so when we decided to extend our roof over an additional area of our back porch to create a hot tub area, we consulted with Jonathan. He gave us additional recommendations we did not think of and could not be happier with how it turned out. Per Jonathan’s suggestion we used McWhorter Construction for the project. Greg, the project lead, was amazing. He was always available, responsive, and did a phenomenal job keeping us informed every step of the way. Edwin, the manager of the crew assigned to our project, was very professional. The crew was always on time, they did meticulous work, and they left our yard clean every evening. We could not be happier with entire process!

Excellent experience with McWhorter Construction. We had been struggling to finalize a layout for our screened in porch for nearly two years and Ryan came up with an excellent layout that worked perfectly for our family, he was also extremely helpful when making decisions about the various materials and finishes during the design process!

When the project was ready to start, Greg did a great job explaining the process and letting us know what to expect and was always helpful in answering any questions that came up during construction.

Being in the residential construction industry myself, the team doing the day to day work is by far the most important part of a successful project. I cannot say enough positive things about Gage and his team, James, Luis & Rungo. They truly went above and beyond on a daily basis... their attention to detail and hard work was second to none and it truly felt like they put the same effort into our project that they would in their own homes. The entire team was always so friendly and respectful of our busy family household and became quick friends with my excited kiddos (and dogs) watching them work during breakfast each morning! Gage's professionalism and communication was incredible... he provided day-to-day updates for us and was always patient and willing to answer any questions we had to make sure that we were happy with the progress and satisfied with the work being done, even if it involved a last minute change!

We couldn't be happier with the finished product and would highly recommend McWhorter Construction to our friends and family and hope to use them again in the future for other projects!

At the suggestion of architect Jonathan Rivera, we hired McWhorter Construction to build a screened porch/patio/half bath addition and we couldn't be happier -- with both the process and the final outcome of our project. Ryan the owner worked with us on a timeline that allowed us to break ground while also enjoying the new pool area of our backyard during the summer months. Once work resumed, it was extremely rare to have a day when nothing was happening out back, and if there was, Greg Lee, the project manager very clearly explained why. Greg is not only on top of all the details and scheduling process when it comes to all of the moving parts, he very clearly communicates them, which is not always the norm in my experience with other contractors. The entire team is made up of true professionals, the stonework on the stone fireplace and bluestone patio are truly exceptional. Everyone was so respectful of our home and our dogs will truly miss greeting the team every day upon their arrival. My only wish when it comes to this project is that we would have found McWhorter Construction a lot sooner. I will be highly and wholeheartedly recommending McWhorter to others in the future!
