The LS service is very reliable, compared to freelancers we have hired. Schedule and payment are easy to set-up. If any suggestion, I would suggest that we are given a heads-up before the staff arrive (say, a 30-minute or 1-hour ahead). Overall, very pleased with the service and quality.

We signed up for a bimonthly lawn service through LawnStarter. The first week the lawn technician came he did a fine job. However, for our next service date he was a no-call/no-show and didn’t respond to any of my messages. Then, over the weekend we found out that our technician quit and the new tech wouldn’t be able to come for another week, which would have resulted in our lawn not being serviced for for over three weeks. Unfortunately, LawnStarter is just some sort of directory connecting lawn professionals throughout the State. Some are good, and others are not. This technician bid very low, and when my job was inconvenient, moved on to someone else. Don’t use this service. Work with a lawn company directly.

They sent out the worst of the worst (mowed down our flowers and missed many spots) and would randomly not show up. Then they cancelled out service without notifying us

Used these guys and they did an awful job, plus leaked oil all over our driveway and did nothing to clean it up. Then years afterwards, they started charging our credit card they had kept on file! Huge mistake to use them.

I would give zero stars if I could. They told me I was scheduled for three different days and no one showed up at all. They need 48 hours to reschedule and find a someone to service your lawn. Then they don't show up. Their app is useless. I was communicating with one of their "pros" and he eventually stopped responding. When calling, the wait time can be over 20 minutes. Avoid this joke of a company. These are not professionals.

SCAM COMPANY. They do not mow, they only connect you with people who post ads for mowing and then you, as the customer, have to negotiate times for someone to show up. I waited for 2 days and nobody arrived. They told me it wasn't worth their drive from central mass to come to the south shore. Run away from this company, super unprofessional.

Devious business practice! I signed up for a ONE TIME mow while our mower was getting fixed. I then find out they have a 3 time mow minimum. The app and website leave you no option to cancel. I did not agree to a minimum and was more than clear when I reached out that this was one time. I finally reached someone via phone to cancel. Easy to schedule, hard to cancel. Lawn service was fine but I will never contact this company again.

This company is atrocious; bad communication, bad scheduling, nearly useless app. There may be decent crews associated with the company (the crew that finally showed up in my case were hacks and left a big mess for me to clean up) but Lawnstarter then charges customers more than what has been agreed upon and then, good luck trying to undo the extra charges for work not done. After you agree to a trial service, you are committed to using and paying them at least 3 times, no matter how big the disaster. Attached pics of the mess they left after a mow:

I had a 35 minute intake conversation about the service I needed. Seemingly, this was a reliable service that turned out to be the same as the independent lawn service providers around town. The person/business that serviced the lawn the first time has cancelled and rescheduled four (4) times and today was a no show. At 1 am he sent a message attributing not showing to inclement weather of which there was none. He now wants to schedule 5 days from now. This is poor service form a business that ropes you in with a minimum of 3 appointments yet does not exhibit accountability for reliable service.

Worse than useless service. The provider did not show up. He rescheduled for the next day and again did not show up. You don't get the phone number of the provider. You have to text through a buggy stupid app. You can call the national headquarters, but the frontline reps will tell you they can't call the providers either. So, I asked for a supervisor. The rep said the supervisors also can't call the service providers. This is of course not true. The supervisor immediately tried to call the provider for me. To no avail. If you want lots of aggravation and a big bureauacracy between you and your lawn guy, book through Lawn Starter. It's sure to make your blood boil. I wish they were publicly traded so I could sell the stock short. This business model is doomed.

Steve is the owner of this company, and when ever I call, he delivers on time and no questions asked, professionalism is the highest quality in the area, I recommend highly and you won’t be disappointed.
