After interviewing a number of firms we decided to hire Dex to do a patio renovation around our pool in 2016. We had a positive experience in the showroom and were very impressed with the design and vision. Unfortunately that is where it ended...

We were told that our project manager would be onside throughout each phase of the project to ensure each step was done according to the plan. This never happened (see below).

Upon beginning the work, a demolition crew tore up much more of our yard than what was needed. They dumped all of the waste from the project in a good area of grass away from the pool which caused us to have to replace our entire lawn. They also tore up most of the irrigation system in my back yard which was unnecessary.

Our "project manager" was never on site and the crew that performed the work had no idea on the design and did not pay attention to the plans and the work being performed. I had to point out numerous flaws in how the forms were set only to have to explain over and over how the correct forms should be. I should have stopped the project at this point given the lack of attention.

When it came time to pour, this is where it really went south! I came home to a poured patio with a drain that was set crooked and did not align correctly with the stamp pattern. It looks horrible and cuts diagonal across the patio. I demanded the patio be redone (see more issues below) however the owner would not correct the issue through redoing the patio. The owner did provide a slight credit for the mistake on the drain.

The stamping came our horrible. There are blemishes all over and it appears that the stamp pad was pulling the concrete. To correct this issue they added patching which looks even worse. There are also areas that are stamped very hard leaving significant imprints. Again looks horrible. I have cracks all over the stamping imprints and there are chips in the patio.

When cutting in the stress joints to help prevent cracking, they chipped a number of areas causing concrete to break off. They also didn't cut enough stress joints so the patio began cracking after the first winter. Large/long cracks.

Lastly the color is not holding up. We were going for a nice light tan look and now the patio is pitted and faded white.

The owner of the company inspected the job on a number of occasions and agreed that the product was not good however redoing the patio was not on the table. It was patch job after patch job to try to correct the issues.

I would not recommend this company. They appear to be very professional however my experience was far from it and now I am stuck with a patio that I know is flawed and will only have to be replaced. After much debate, the owner agreed to extend my warranty, perform a seal, and come cut the additional stress joints that are needed. The seal job performed was poor and the stress joints still have no been cut.

We love working with Dex by Terra. They installed the deck around our pool three years ago. This year we worked with them to expand our deck area. They are highly professional, responsive, and do great work. We will continue to work with them as we further enhance our outdoor space. We highly recommend them and the quality of their work.

Dex by Terra was great to deal with from start to end. Sean Greene guided us through all materials and what were the best options for our project. Lastly the quality of work, professionalism and courtesy of the craftsman doing the installation was top within the industry. Thankyou Sean and all DBT group.

We had an in ground pool installed in the fall of 2020. We chose Dex by Terra to do our patio work. After speaking and meeting with Ed over the course of the project, we were confident he would bring our vision to life. He and his crew worked efficiently and we couldn’t be happier with our space! We highly recommend Dex by Terra!

Dex By Terra installed my pool patio 13 years ago and they did a beautiful stamped concrete design. I just had them come out and look at the deck because I wanted to seal it but I also wanted to know if there was a product to darken the color up a little. They use a product called color seal and then applied an oil based sealant. The patio looks absolutely amazing. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, just as they were 13 years ago. Highly recommend them!!!

We can't say enough about the great experience we had with Dex by Terra for our pool deck. The designer was most helpful in creating this project. The installation was fast and efficient. We have recommended them to our friends and family.

We were thrilled with the work that Dex by Terra did for us in our backyard. They made our pool area complete and it looks beautiful. I would highly recommend them for any outdoor hard scape job.

Our experience with this company was the worse than we could've imagined. Their communication was terrible, their timeliness was worse. My husband and I spent the entire 4 months of this project having to oversee every single thing that was done. Our deck was built in the wrong place, electrical work was ripped out, our lawn was ruined, our patio was poured in the wrong by place, our deck was sagging, the stairs were uneven. Hardly anyone was ever on site overseeing anything. We even had to bring in another contractor to check in on things because it was so.horrific. Don't be fooled by nice social media and website. Working with them is not worth the stress.

Mike Bakers and his crew did an unbelievable job on my pool padio. Mike and his crew are very professional and respectful of your property. They protected the grounds and house while doing the work. Also at the end of the job you never knew they were there accept for the great for the great padio they did.

Dex By Terra recently completed a project for a new pool for us in Shrewsbury, MA. They did a fantastic job and i would certainly recommend them to anybody.

Here is what i liked:
1) They use a 3D CAD modeling tool that makes it very easy to visualize the plan. This is far and away better than anything we saw from other contractors and the end result was exactly what we saw in the model.
2) Ed did our design and he had a wonderful ability to incorporate our ideas with his own and make the entire project better. Ed has a fantastic ability to make your ideas better. Ed really really listened to us and always found ways to work around any constraints we presented to him. Ed has great taste and his design was better than the other options we were considering.
3) They were on time - It seems as though pool projects are plagued with contractors who are late, don't show up, stretch the project out for long periods of time. DexByTerra wasn't like this. They got our project done right on time.
4) Danny, Mark, and the entire team were professional, extremely competent, and the quality of the work was excellent.

We could not be more pleased with the stunning work Dex by Terra did on our pool deck. We knew going in our project would be substantial. We not only needed our ol.d pool deck removed, we also needed our entire pool gutted, including new piping, new liner, adding additional returns and skimmers, and building diving platform then converting the pool from chlorine to salt water. Essentially, we wanted to remove the existing pool from 1970 and put a new pool in its place. Before we chose Dex we did our research and called our local pool company along with several others in neighboring towns to seek recommendations on a company that could come in and pull out our old pool deck and replace it. The first company named by nearly all the local pool companies was Dex. This is not a coincidence. We had a couple different companies come out and look at our project, but right from the start Dex was superior to their competition in every way. They are knowledgeable, thoughtful, and polite. They walked us through the entire project and took the time to answer all our questions without making us feel rushed. Furthermore, unlike their competition we never felt they were trying to up sell us on our project. They have always been very respectful of the boundaries we set for our project. Dex has been phenomenal through the entire project, from estimates for the project to the design and layout of our project all the way through every finishing detail. Dex went above and beyond at every step of our project. They even helped us coordinate timing with all the other contractors. Probably most impressive was Dex’s communication with us. They were always willing to answer questions, make design changes, and help us problem solve anything that arose, even if it had nothing to do with their “part” of the project. As our project was wrapping up Dex approached us and recommended we change the design of our diving platform just a little to give it a stronger aesthetic. This kind of attention to detail is what sets them apart. As homeowners we have an idea of what we were looking for but their experience and expertise is invaluable. It is without hesitation that I would and have recommended Dex by Terra to anyone who is looking to rehab their existing pool or add a new pool to their yard.

I was referred to Dex to complete a pool project and I wish I never had it done. I had multiple PM's that appeared to leave the company during my project and I would never find out about it until after several weeks of no reply's or returned calls about my project. The quality of the work is terrible. The patio was not even a month old and we had quality issues. I reached out to them when they completed the work with the concerns. They told us they would take care of it in email and kept putting it off and never got back to us. The concrete around the pool has been falling apart since day 1 and near the drain is missing where they used duct tape. They also left a wooden stake in the concrete and it is visible. They caused damage to my neighbors yard and said in a text message not to worry they would take care of it, they never did. I had to hire someone else to repair the damage to the neighbors yard. I have hired an attorney to deal with them. Do yourself a favor, skip Dex!

Dex By Terra just finished a large patio in my back yard, and we are thrilled with the final product. I found Dex by trying to determine the best stamped concrete shop around, and was lucky enough that Joe Medeiros came to check out the project. We spoke for a bit, I told him what I was looking for, he took some measurements, and that was it... a few weeks later we went to his office to see some designs, and with a few tweaks all of my design concerns were addressed. Joe really did a tremendous job of walking us through the entire project... and we had plenty of questions.

We got through the paperwork, and the project started when they said it would. The teams that got sent to my house were just incredible...shoutout to Hiago, his father, Delia, and the rest of the folks that busted their tail, to make this looked perfect. I had a lot of trust in this team because they were so competent all the way through the project, and it really shows.

The project took a month from beginning to end, but a lot of that was weather dependent. There was some collateral lawn damage, but it is a small price to pay for the level of detail and care that Dex took throughout.

Thank you Dex by Terra for dealing with our complex pool problem and turning our pool area in into a year-round breathtaking oasis. From the initial consultation to the final touches, their professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail were truly outstanding. They worked seamlessly in unison with Clear Water Pools to repair the pool and artistically replace the patio with stamped concrete. I only wish we had more professional pictures.

We worked with Dex by Terra during our pool renovation this year. They did a large patio, outdoor kitchen, spa and fireplace for us. Our main contact was Ed and he was always extremely responsive, professional, and helpful. Our project lasted about a year start to finish. There were some hiccups along the way (but honestly that’s to be expected during any large project), but what really speaks volumes about this company is their customer service and their sincere desire to make sure their customers are satisfied and happy, and we are!

We have used Dex by Terra twice now for both of our outdoor kitchens and patios. After using them at our first home, we knew we had to use them again when we moved. From the start everything was organized. Prior to the start of the project, we loved meeting with the Architect who made our ideas come to life on the 3D drawings. We were able to see the how the project was going to look finished before it had started, which gave us complete confidence. They listened to our vision and went above and beyond to make it happen. We have a beautiful outdoor kitchen for entertaining, a dining area and a living area that includes a couch section with a gas fire pit. They also fixed our front stairs using the same stone from the back yard along with the same bluestone for the tops. They also regraded our backyard and installed sod which couldn't have come out better. Because of their integrity and quality, we will not use any other company for any of our stonework needs. We are also planning to use them for our pool in the future. We are so happy with Dex by Terra and can not wait to use them again!

While it may seem unnecessary to spend the time and money on a proper pool design, I can assure you that you will end up saving money, time, and aggravation in the end. I wish we had been connected with Dex by Terra at the start of our three-year pool project (2018-2021), but thankfully, they found us in the eleventh hour.

Joe Medeiros was awesome to work with and created a design that turned our backyard into a residential resort. Without a plan, we were ready to move forward with a simple retaining wall, paver patio, and hot tub surround. What we got was nothing short of spectacular! The look, the flow, everything was just perfect for the space, our design aesthetic, and our budget. And it was easy to make adjustments as we went along.

Although we used our own mason and landscaper to complete the project, it can be difficult to find these craftsmen which makes the full-service offering of Dex by Terra even more important. Even if you only work with Dex on design, it is worth the investment of 2% of the total budget to get a proper design rather than winging it. You won’t be disappointed!

We built a new house and wanted a wonderful backyard. We started a project with DexByTerra about 6 months ago and DexByTerra from design through to implementation delivered. Everything from the overall design of the backyard through to the implementation, the full decking, landscaping, everything is perfect. They were professional to work with, caring about making sure we were going to get what we wanted, very much treated us like we were partners and a team, rather than customers. There was no barriers between us, meaning I could text message our designer, or email them, very quickly and they'd always get back to me.

Wonderful company to work with -- as I said from design through to implementation, it was an absolutely fantastic experience.

It's always rolling a dice when signing a new company to do any project around the house. As with our basement, we weren't so lucky. However, when we decided to build a pool, patio and outdoor kitchen, we did our research and found Dex to be one of the leading and financially affordable builders in the larger new England area. Starting with Joe and team who helped with the design and then later on Tommy Santos and his team, they were all polite, professional, kept their word (most important), punctual and cleaned up after their work. I highly recommend them because this is the best quality you will get relative to the money spent. Whatever hiccups that may come along the way, be assured that Dex and their team will resolve them timely.

Wow! That's all I have to say about the Dex-by-Terra team. From our initial meeting with Ed to review and design, to the site workers that showed up every day, rain or shine, Mark the mason supervisor/manager, Andy that did irrigation, Rob for landscaping, to so many more not mentioned, they were all outstanding. Quality of work is above and beyond expectations. The DxT team fixed any little issue or concern we had and we were pedantic about things. They always have a smile on their face and no issue was too big or small to fix. Midstream changes, additions, revision, were never an issue. They accommodated every little thing we asked! This is a classic example of you get what you pay for. I can 100% - without any reservation - fully recommend the DxT team. You will NOT regret one moment!
