Constraction reviews in Malden, Massachusetts

My pick for construction work. Great customer service! Also, Augie has a lot of knowledge about construction, which made the discussion very informative.

Clean, well-done, and on time. Renovating inside Faneuil Hall isn’t easy, but they nailed it.

If you're remodeling a restaurant or retail space in Boston, look no further. Five stars!

We hired Agui Souza and Bostonian Carpentry for carpentry work, because he first came across as trustworthy, responsive, and competitive on pricing. Don't get fooled by the initial conversation.
Agui Souza is a con artist. He makes promises he won't be able to keep on cost, quality, and timing. And then he'll disappear once things get challenging, leaving a wreck behind him that other contractors won't want to touch with a ten-foot pole, and leaving you several thousands of dollars short.
He took our money but never actually showed up to supervise or do any work on the house himself. He had dubious subcontractors show up and do actually more damage to our house than the things they were supposed to replace, repair, or build. The subs clearly had no qualifications to do the carpentry or roofing work they were supposed to do. I doubt they were insured. The wrong materials were ordered. Some materials were never ordered causing multi-month delays in simple tasks. We had to check everything after him when he did place an order as all measurements were wrong, quantities were insufficient, critical components were never ordered and missing.
Agui would disappear for long periods of time, not returning calls or texts, his voice mailbox full. And then he would resurface, with always a different excuse, and show up, driven by someone else (I suspect he doesn't even have a driver's license), to ask for the next payment. After we asked him to redo basic framing work his subs couldn't get right after 4-5 times and after he damaged our front porch beyond repair, he finally stopped returning our calls. We'll see him in court. Stay away the company is a joke and Agui is a con man. A lot of the good reviews are clearly fake - one of them is even from him to himself... Pathetic.

We’ve been in Faneuil Hall for years, but it was time for an upgrade. These professionals redesigned everything: our counter, walls, and lighting

They handled everything from beginning to end, ensuring that I was satisfied with the results. Excellent service and attention to detail. I would absolutely employ them again!

From customer service to final touches, everything was on point. Super happy with the result. It gave our restaurant a completely new vibe.

Reliable professionals. They work transparently and explain every step. The final result was excellent, and they even finished earlier than expected!

Boston 5 Star Contractors are a great team to work with. They are reliable, have experience and knowledge to help us with projects, and also commitment to time frames and schedules.

The kitchen turned out beautifully. The space was left clean after each workday and Agi’s presence throughout the project was incredibly reassuring.

Agui was amazing to work with. Super responsive, honest, and genuinely cares about the client. Our restaurant looks incredible thanks to him and his team

This has nothing to do with the quality of their work. The guys driving the van with license plate X69•061 on 4/25/25 doesn’t know how to drive. Jumped across two lanes to go right even though their was signs clearly stating so in West Bridgewater and cut me off in Bridgewater after he he was done driving in the middle of two lanes, to jump in my lane! I’d suggest having your employees know how to drive properly before driving your company vehicle.

I'm very delighted I chose Boston Five Star Contractors! They made everything simple and stress-free. They did the best quality work, and I enjoyed working with the team.
