They installed our furnace and replaced all the ductwork in 2015. Since then, we've had issues every year. During winter, the furnace stopped working several times. In the first few years, they came and said that they fixed it, but the problems recurred. Eight years later, we had two other HVAC companies come to check why we were having so many issues with a relatively new system. They informed us that both the furnace and the ductwork had been installed incorrectly. We paid the initial company over $20,000 in 2015, and now we have hired another company to replace the furnace and redo the ductwork. We are extremely frustrated with their work and service. My advice is to stay away from them!

Wonderful company! My wife and I were in a pinch when our a/c suddenly died on one of the hottest days this summer. We called Needham Mechanical and they responded to our needs quickly. Our a/c was back up and running that day and I couldn't be more thankful. The office staff as well as the technician they sent were both professional, nice and well spoken. After this great experience we will now be switching our home heating oil account over to their sister company Needham Energy.

Arrived home Friday after Thanksgiving to find no heat. Needham Mechanical had a tech at our house in an hour and he replaced a gas tube to the pilot. All was well and we went away again over Friday night. Returned to find a faint gas smell in house, so we ventilated. Smell persisted. Mon AM called for a tech and got an 11AM-1PM window. Tech was here at 10:55, done by 11:25, apologized for our inconvenience. Problem was a nearly undetectable pinhole leak in the new pilot tube. Love these people - they really know how to take care of their customers!

We used Needham Mechanical Systems to do our oil to gas conversion. They replaced our old furnace and water heater. They also "quarterbacked" the whole process with the electrician and the tank removal. Finally, the help us with the mass save paperwork.

We are extremely happy with the work Pete and his team did. They were prompt, professional, kept us updated and did great work. Strong Recommendation!

I hired Needham Mechanical to install a heat pump in my house when my furnace went out this winter. The company was quick to respond, gave us a competitive estimate, and got the system installed ASAP. The whole process was done quickly and professionally. Shawn Flinn, our project manager, was a huge help and was responsive during the entire process. Huge thanks to the team, I would recommend their services to anyone!

Outstanding customer service.
I have tried several providers to service my furnance. Many told me I needed to replace my cast iron furnance. This company met with me and educated me re my options. No replacement needed. Annual maintenance is the key. The maintenance they performed was beyond perfection. I will continue to receive services from this company. If you want the truth with no sales pitch, call them. I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed.

The contractor I used to install my air conditioning unit couldn't troubleshoot my unit's issues and then subsequently went out of business. I called Needham Mechanical, gave them the story, and they sent out a tech to assist. Courtney was incredibly understanding on the phone and told me she wanted a specific Needham Mechanical tech on my job. The tech came, diagnosed the slew of problems from the previous contractor, and fixed my system. He was kind, thorough, and said his repairs are what he would do in his own home. Issues with my unit that cost me an entire summer without air conditioning were diagnosed and fixed in 3 hours. I am so grateful for Needham Mechanical and will definitely use them for my HVAC needs in the future.

June 2025. This is an edit of a review I wrote five or so years ago. Rating is still 5+. This time we needed a new air conditioner to replace an old unit. Josh came to the house and presented a proposal that made more sense than any of the other estimates I received. Nothing to do with price, although their price was very competitive. I trusted Josh from the start, and I asked a lot of questions via email. Josh's responses were detailed, professional, and again, made perfect sense. I credit Josh with managing to install our new machine right as the heat wave was approaching. Even after the sale, Josh is still answering my questions with knowledge and expertise. So now our entire HVAC system has been installed by Needham Mechanical and we are very pleased. Josh is the ultimate professional and simply the best.

Excellent service. Right at the beginning of the cold season it was discovered that we needed a new gas furnace. After juggling a few things, Needham Mechanical was able to do the quickest installation, which was most appreciated. Their price was also the best. Paul delivered outstanding service from the initial visit to our house to the inspection. Very impressed and would recommend Paul and Needham Mechanical in the highest terms.

Our experience replacing our ancient hot air furnace was terrific. Shawn in sales was knowledgeable and very responsive. The proposal was detailed and fairly priced. The installation team was skilled and pleasant to have around.

Got home from work at 7pm and the central AC was dead. By 630am they were at my house and got the unit up and running. Couldn't really ask for anything more than a turnaround that quick especially during the summer when AC is vital. The Technician was nice as could be, explained what he was doing/checking, and what the issue was. He said the unit was still in good shape and he didnt try to sell me a new unit.

From the sale person to the team lead on site it was professional and on-time. The team on-site was friendly and was very clean. One team member noticed there were leaves that moved off the drop cloth as they were cleaning up and picked them up! You will not be disappointed with the equipment or the quality of all team members.

If I could give more stars I would! Yellow Dog provided excellent service in replacing my HVAC and water heater. They were easy to get in touch with throughout the process, communicated the scope of the work in a way I understood, and were efficient and transparent for the entirety of the job. The quality of the work is stellar. Don, Brandon, Antonio, Nick, Fred, Jason, Zach, and Pat were the definition of professional. The entire team was amazing from start to finish. I would highly recommend this group to anyone looking for heating, cooling, and plumbing work. I'm thankful I found Yellow Dog. They are the best!

I loved working with Zach. He found parts for my existing shower that another plumber couldn’t find, was very professional, friendly and responsive! Had a great experience working with him and will call yellow dog in the future!

Brandon and Jeff came by today and did an efficient and thorough job of resolving my thermostat problem. Both Brandon and Jeff are friendly, knowledgeable and were able to diagnose the problem quickly, and made sure to double check everything’s working properly before leaving. Highly recommend if you ever have heating/ plumbing issues!

Zach and Jaisson installed a boiler in my basement. The end result appears very professionally done. They tested the system, which worked well. The installation work was neatly done including exhaust pipes which they traversed along the ceiling and out a basement window. They were conscientious and left me without concerns. I have used Yellow Dog also for my mini splits service and would definitely recommend

After waiting three days and no other company calling me back yellow dog finally came through prompt and early. Louis and Oseas, took their time to explain exactly what the problem and were patient and kind and knowledgeable. Besides that , both of them as individuals were really nice men .

Jeff came out and fixed an issue we had with our basement drain. He was quick to diagnose the problem, come up with a great solution and provide an estimate. Within a couple days he was back out to my house and had the problem fixed in a couple hours. Everything is working great and we’re super happy. Thank you Yellow Dog and thank you Jeff!!

Yellow Dog has been an exceptional HVAC partner for us. We recently purchased a home and needed to upgrade our air handlers and condensers, boiler and water filter as they were 20+ years old. Their team of professionals came to our home to inspect the current state of equipment and connectivity and thereafter provided very competitive quotes. The team scheduled the work at convenient times for us to minimize disruption and after installation, walked us through how to use every device, answering all of our questions. Separate from the new equipment installation, we've asked them to do some minor plumbing work around the house and their service men are experienced, efficient and friendly. Scheduling visits has been so easy and they are often available to come within 1-2 days. We've signed up for their ongoing maintenance plan so will be seeing a lot more of their team. We highly recommend Yellow Dog!
