Reviews of local pros in Wakefield, Massachusetts

I had a great experience with Mendez Painters. I hired them to paint a room in my house that was covered in old glossy wood paneling, with lots of ridges and texture. They used an oil based primer so that the paint would properly adhere to the surface, and it came out fantastic - it looks like a whole new room! The pricing was competitive compared to others that I spoke with, with no sacrifice at all in quality. Both brothers were kind, efficient, hardworking, and communicative. They were punctual and got the job done quickly. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a painter.

We recently had our home painted by Florentino and his team, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and had great attention to detail. You can truly tell they take pride in their work. Thank you for doing such an outstanding job!

Florentino and his crew were fast, reliant, efficient and skilled. In just three days they transformed an entire floor of our house, painting ceilings, walls, trim, doors and windows. The also provided considerable carpentry, including removing old ethernet ports and patching over them. Highly recommended.

Mendez Painters did a great job painting a interior room and exterior doors. The prep work and painting were great. They were efficient and hardworking. The outcome looks great, and they are highly recommended.

Mendez Painters did a great job on the exterior of our house at a great price. Florintin was quick to reply during the entire process, even when I wasn't prompt to respond. Florintin is very nice guy, highly recommend.

Mendez Painters get the job done quickly and professionally. Their team worked closely with us to make our home beautiful and exactly as we want it. From scrapping and preparation to full execution (primer and paint) these guys are completely pro! Highly highly recommend from the city of Melrose.

Mendez Painters did an excellent job painting the exterior of our home. Florentine has a skilled, hard working and professional crew working with him. We are happy with the quality results.

Florentin and his crew did a great job painting my house. I am so happy with the results. Professional, detail oriented, and very efficient. The prep work and actual painting was outstanding. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Mendez painting was great!! Quick response to my request for an estimate. Crew was friendly, very well organized, coordinated and cleaned up each day. I took pictures of wood that needed to be replaced, and all was repaired. They scrapped like crazy before they started painting. They used high quality paint and the job came out amazing. We live in a historic house built in 1900 and they took great care in their work. They were by far the best price. Small business owner with a fair price. I have a sign in my front yard and will be happy to refer anybody to Mendez painting. I plan on calling on them for their carpentry work in the future.

Thank you Florentin and crew!

Well done Mendez Painting!!!

CONS: day to day job site cleanliness could have been better (I would spend some time each evening picking up water bottles, tape, wrappers, nails etc). Our plants/flowers etc around the house got trampled pretty badly by the their ladders/feet so would’ve appreciated more care there. A formal estimation process is needed - though owner is responsive via email/text.

PROS: services (painting/carpentry) priced competitively and lead time was best of any company who quoted us. Crew arrived promptly and very early in the morning each day and worked long days. The foreman (Julio, owners brother) was engaging and asked us questions throughout the process. Overall we were happy with the outcome and pleased that we went with Mendez Painters Inc.

I highly recommend Florentino and his Mendez Painters, for exterior painting of house. He offered me the best price of several quotes for my house in Quincy, and he and his crew does superb, professional work, very hard steady workers. They keep the area clean at the end of every day, and left my house looking fantastic, exactly the way I wanted it. Several people have complemented me on the new paint job.

The team provided a competitive quote for the sanding and painting of the exterior of my house in Swampscott. My house suffered from years of English Ivy growth. After we hired a company to remove it, there were millions of "suckers" stuck to our wood siding. Florentin and his team sanded everything down extremely well, prepped, primed and painted the house. They also made sure any rotted wood was taken out and patched up. I would highly recommend this company for any painting jobs in Swampscott, Marblehead, Lynnfield, Peabody and the surrounding area. Very professional and COVID-19 friendly.

Mendez Painter Inc did an amazing job great estimate and Insured and had no problem proving that. We are more than happy with the job done would recommend highly.

They removed a lot more old paint than expected. The oil primer, caulk, and latex paint they supplied were all top quality. The crew was nice, and very hard-working. The owner was easy to get on the phone, and on site at the start of every day.

Although a formal contract may be too much to expect, the owner honored emails and texts. Reasonable start/end dates would be wise to nail down, and clearly define where body and trim colors are expected.

Florentin and his team did an amazing job painting the exterior of our house! They were professional and easy to work with. They also paid great attention to detail and sanded and scraped the entire house. I would highly recommend Mendez Painters and will use them for any of our future painting projects.

Our house had not been painted in over 12 years or more. Mendez spent a lot of time on it. They made sure to prime and let the primer sit for over a week and then came back and painted to our new color.

Florentino and his crew were friendly and professional. They painted the living room, the kitchen, the hallways and the trim in a matter of days and for a very good price. They also patched several large holes left from the previous owner. Highly recommend for North Shore!

Mendez Painting exceeded our expectations! When we purchased the home, it had not been painted or worked on for at least 12 years! In a salt-air climate, the damage, wood rot, and disrepair was extensive. We researched many companies and chose Mendez because of the quality of work we have seen with the houses they painted for our neighbors and when talking to them, our neighbors had nothing but high praise! As we looked at the beautiful job they did on their houses and compared it to work from other sources and found that Mendez had the smoothest and most detailed work. As well, the houses we saw that were painted years ago have stood the test of time and still look stunning!  Our neighborhood has many historical houses and ours is the 'oldest on the block', having been built in 1804. Mendez painting is very aware and careful about their work and they really came through on the details. As well, what they quoted us was true and we didn't have to deal with any financial surprises. The team was knowledgeable, professional, clean and responsive. They scraped and power washed and used quality oil-based primer, letting everything dry completely before adding any layers, ensuring durability which is essential in our climate! They power sanded so everything looks smooth and they used the perfect primer to lend the main color a beautiful depth and richness. It looks better than the paint sample! Anything we had questions about Florentino answered quickly and was responsive to any additional requests. They have excellent carpenters and our carpenter filled any gaps to protect from water seepage. We had window frames and sills that were rotted and coming off in chunks and the carpenter seamlessly repaired them according to historical requirements. Very impressive!  We are so proud of our home now and so many have stopped to take photos of our house and so many compliments from neighbors and strangers alike! We are so pleased that we can breathe a sigh of relief because we know the work will LAST!

Mendez Painters painted our property in Cambridge, MA recently. Florentine and his crew are very experienced and did a great job painting the exterior trim and body of our multi-family property. They followed the proper method of preparing(scraping, sanding, power washing), then priming and painting the home. They also replaced several boards of trim and siding that were rotting. Both painting and carpentry services were of a high quality. The price was very competitive. Overall probably the best value/quality painting crew I have worked with and we have been in property management business for several years. Would definitely recommend them without hesitation.

I am from Melrose MA. I’ve known about Mendez Painters for a long time from my neighbors who highly recommended them. Mendez Painters did a great job prepping my house for paint as well as making helpful recommendations and doing very careful and detailed work. I have an old Victorian with many details that they were careful to paint cleanly. They also committed to a tight timeframe for me and arrived early and worked late to finish ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend them.

I hired Florentin and his team to paint my cedar shingle house in Melrose. We were very pleased with the results as well as professionalism, friendliness and punctuality. This was a big job and it was well managed. They even came back to do a few touch ups I requested!
