Constraction reviews in Woburn, Massachusetts

Humberto is a nice guy and easy to work with. I hired Humberto for two separate jobs at my house. The first job involved building a closet and cubbies in the front foyer and building a rear door enclosure (two walls, roof, and door, plus some concrete steps). The second job was re-finishing a single room in our basement. That job involved building a nice enclosure around the sump pump, two custom cabinets, floor installation, and some electrical. There was also painting and staining work for both jobs. All work came out nicely, and I would hire Humberto again.

These guys are top shelf. The Business owner is extremely professional, clearly is beloved by his team and the team does great work and are very respectful and neat! They accurately propose work, show up on time and do top notch work. I have had them replace siding, sills, back porch, paint exterior and interior, even wash windows. They are multi-talented and are my go to guys.

HS contracting have completed several different projects for me, and i keep going back to them because of the quality work and because Humberto, the owner, is great to deal with. The projects ranged from replacing a bath window to putting in a kitchen hood where a new vent to the outside had to be run, to adding on a foyer to the back of the house, and i was happy in all cases. The work was timely and of high quality, and Humberto was great about communicating any issues or delays that arose, and delays were never long. I highly recommend Humberto & HS!

I can't say enough wonderful things about HS Contracting! I live on the ground floor of an old farmhouse that was converted into 2 apartments, and was struggling with the impact & airborne noise from the upstairs unit. I got several quotes for soundproofing my living room and the quote from HSC was by far the clearest, simplest, and most affordable. Humberto (the owner) was a dream to work with - zero pressure and very accommodating. He was able to start the job within 2 weeks of signing the contract and sent me pictures as the job progressed. When I came home afterwards, there was almost NO dust in the entire house, after removing the old ceiling and putting up a new one (which is quite messy). My neighbors were also very impressed witnessing the team work. Highly recommend HSC!

HS General Contracting did a great job renovating a bathroom in my house. Humberto communicates clearly and regularly so I always knew what was happening each week of the project. His team was a pleasure to work with. And the bathroom looks awesome! I highly recommend HS General Contracting.

We hired Humberto several years ago to fix a botched job that another person had done plastering our ceiling. He did a great job. He showed up promptly, clearly knew exactly what he was doing, and was transparent with pricing. We then reached out to him two years ago when we were redoing our kitchen. He and his team did a great job again. They showed up every single day he said they would (this was big for us as we have worked with other contractors who would ghost us for days/weeks) did excellent work, paying close attention to finer details and communicating clearly through the whole job. Humberto was very responsive and made us feel heard and respected throughout the whole process. Because of our great experiences with Humberto we also hired him to refinish our porch. Once again, we are incredibly pleased with the job he and his team did. The end result was excellent and again he listened to us and paid attention to small details that make all the difference when doing construction projects. He will be our first call for any future projects and we highly recommend him for just about any work you need done in your home.

We contracted with HS General Contracting for a very significant high value project in June 2024. He was recommended to us by a friend of ours. The scope included repairing and replacing all the rotting trim around the house at various elevations, hand washing the exterior, refinishing both doors, and redoing all the bluestone walkways and the patio in the backyard. Humberto was honest and detailed in his analysis of what needed to be done and his quote while not the lowest was competitive and reasonable. I truly believe you get what you pay for. His team was exceptionally good and very professional and pleasant to be around. They worked neatly and with a high attention to safety (tie offs when working at heights, safely working with tools and rotating equipment etc). The quality of the work was outstanding and the work ethic was excellent. As the project advanced and scope changed a bit, Humberto was flexible and great to work with. We are delighted with all the work performed and would highly recommend his company to others. Would 100% use him in the future for the next set of projects at our house. Bottom line - highly trustworthy, reliable, professional company

I highly recommend HS General Contracting.
They did the sheet rock installation on a new Kitchen, Family room, mud room, and powder room, along with plastering and painting.
They did an excellent job and are very professional. They protected the floor very well and take care to generate as little dust as possible. They communicated very well and insured that I was happy with the result. I Will consider hiring them again for future projects.

Humberto and his team did an absolutely amazing job in redoing our walk out basement!
Our bathroom was expanded and completely redone, a window added in the (now new) bedroom, the floors were redone, new light fixtures and light switches, walls repainted, any previous imperfections fixed, and brand new stairs, among plenty of other updates!
He was super responsive and so accommodating to all of our requests throughout- and at a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

Humberto and his crew did a fantastic job renovating our bathroom. Their work is always on schedule and within budget, which is such a rarity with general contractors these days.

Humberto and his team provide great work. We had a number of items we needed fixed such as exterior painting, cement repair, wooden trim replacement and rotten wood replacement. They worked very quickly to get everything done in time and that quality of the work is excellent. Any issues that came up were minor and Humberto personally checked and addressed these issues immediately.

I would definitely recommend him and his team and will be working with them in the future.

We had a great experience with Humberto and his team for our bathroom renovation. They were price competitive, did a great job and the bathroom turned out great. Like every renovation, there were some kinks to iron out once the demo was done, but Humberto was great at communicating and coming up with solutions. They kept the place clean, were punctual, and respectful.
We would highly recommend them and hire HS General Contracting for future projects.

I recently had my small bathroom fully renovated with HS General Contracting, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The combination of high-end and more affordable fixtures was perfectly balanced, giving the space both luxury and practicality. One standout addition was the towel drying rail—such a functional yet elegant touch!

The tilework was flawless, with excellent quality and a finish that truly elevates the room's aesthetic. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, the customer service was exceptional. The team was professional, attentive, and responsive to every detail and request, making the entire process stress-free.

I highly recommend Humberto at HS General Contracting and their services to anyone looking for top-notch craftsmanship and an excellent customer experience!

I have had Humberto help me with many projects over many years. Some projects are large-like roofing and creating walla in our basement to smaller tasks, like fixing my sink faucet handle so it doesn’t fall off in my hand. He just fixed a whole in my porch walls which keep my 4 cats from leaping out of the house into the road. His work is always great. He finishes in a timely manner and cleans up. He is professional. I would be lost without him

I have been a homeowner for 27 years in Newton and have had numerous occasions to employ tradespeople for various home improvement projects.
After a number of interviews with local painting companies to discuss the scope of our work, we selected H &S General Contractor.
H & S exceeded our expectations. Our furniture was properly covered and protected with clean drop cloths. Wall imperfections were repaired. Painting of our ceilings, walls and trim were done to perfection.
Lastly, our floors were cleaned and dusted, leaving our beautifully newly painted rooms in move-in condition. Through the entire length of the project, H&S exhibited professionalism. They arrived at the arranged date and time, kept conversation to a minimum and completed the project within their estimated deadline. I will certainly call them for my next project and have no hesitation whatsoever in giving Humberto and his team a 5 star rating.

We live in Arlington. We hired HS Contracting to do some indoor painting for us. We found them through a Gloucester St recommendation. They did an excellent job. The painting of two hallways came out meticulous. The cost was reasonable. We will be hiring them to do an office and living room in the future. I highly recommend them.

Humberto and team did a fantastic job renovating our basement! Highly communicative and effective with reasonable prices. We added a window, vastly expanded a bathroom, updated stairs, and otherwise updated all flooring, paint, etc.

Highly recommend Humberto to anyone!
