I would not recommend working with NuWatt. We had a heat pump project that was supposed to be a one weekend install and after 2 weeks of no shows and poor communication - it still has not been completed including shutting off our prior heat source and leaving a floor unheated in the middle of December…. A nightmare situation especially with tenants living in the unit. We had two people we planned to refer to them and have since recommended they work with a different company.

I had Maan configure a system for my needs and had it installed by his expert team in the fall of 2020. I couldnt be happier. I was a little skeptical at first if I was going to get enough production to justify the cost. It definately has. My summer production surpluses have been carrying us through most of the winters. I was amazed to only have 2 electric bills since march of 2022 and they were both a fraction of what they used to be. Thank you again Nuwatt.

When we decided to go for solar on our house, we began the arduous process of researching and contacting solar companies across New England. NuWatt immediately stood out, due to their excellent customer service, as the team dedicated their time to patiently answer any questions and concerns, as well as to explain the variety of solar models. To NuWatt, we are not just "another client," but a valued and worthy customer. The installation process was painless and quick - and within the time promised, we were powered entirely by solar (and earning back as well!). We would go with them over and over again. I had considered going solar at least three times before, but was always too intimidated by all of the questions that I had. This time around, I worked with real human beings who answered all of my questions and provided me with attentive, personal customer service and follow-through. They were excellent communicators, clear and thorough. The installation of my solar panels and battery went smoothly and I've been really pleased with the efficiency of my system. NuWatt Energy was fabulous to work with!

I’ve had my solar panels for 2 years and haven’t had a bill since the panels were turned on 2 years ago! Great experience from beginning to end. Just know that just because you sign your contract the process from beginning to end can take up to 8 months for them to turn on. They will install the panels fast but the inspections and permits needed by the city is what takes up the time. This is not their fault it depends on the speed of your town in getting the panels turned on.

I have changed my review from five stars to three stars. I have reached out to them with questions about my system and have not heard back after calling them four times with the same question. I would not recommend them to anyone due to their lack of service after installation. Three stars for the installation, which went seamlessly. However, they had subcontracted to a local company and did not install themselves.

30KW system installed quickly and professionally. Waited patiently while I applied for state/federal grants (if you are a farm, look into them!). Install team was efficient and went out of their way to not block our normal operations.

System was up and running within 2 weeks of install, and that time was just waiting for National Grid to do their part.

I initially found them by looking up the public info on solar installs in the state, and saw they did a ton of installs. My personal experience was mostly positive one. There were some small delays, but nothing out of the ordinary for a project like this. Certainly not enough to knock stars off, as they were in constant communication.

Communication was great, I think they answered every question I had for them along the way. The installers and electrician were great, stayed out of the way and had the system installed in a day.

After install, Nuwatt updated me on each step in the process as we moved to get the system online. They provided clear instructions to get the system online and reporting. So far so good. Looking forward to see the production during the summer.

We received quotes from several solar companies but decided to go with NuWatt Energy because they introduced us to the Enphase Sunlight Backup and their price was reasonable. We could not have a storage battery due to the flood elevation of our property and the lack of space in our house. Adan, the sales rep was always responsive and polite with my texts and calls as was the entire NuWatt team. We initially had some issues with the Sunlight Backup but the electrician, Rob Shaffer was polite and knowledgeable, and even worked weekends to help tailor the system to our needs. Rob helped us with the Enphase app which allows us to monitor our production, export/import and use of electric. We are thrilled our monthly electric bill is $0. We would recommend NuWatt Energy to anyone considering solar. The federal tax credit now should be a great incentive to go solar too.

NuWatt Energy installed our system over a year ago and we've been thrilled ever since! Not only are Maan and team incredibly knowledgeable and thorough throughout the quoting and installation process, they follow through on everything they commit to and support their products and installation long after the job is done (they even came back recently to take care of a panel that was damaged during a storm). They're high integrity and care about their work - I can't recommend them highly enough!

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel compelled to offer up my experience with NuWatt. It’s been over a year since I signed my contract and my project officially is not complete (more on that later).

I am in NH so my review is specific for this north of Boston area. Initially I had a good feeling with my contacts and interactions with NuWatt but after a few months my opinion began to change.

Contract signed mid October 2022, original install date was mid February 2023, actual install was in mid June 2023. It’s been over 3 months since the electric meter on our house was swapped out. And still our project is not “complete”.

The main issue with NuWatt is that NOTHING will get done on your project unless you call/email and ask for an update. Even then I received erroneous information on the status of my project.

In 2 cases it was communicated to me that NuWatt was waiting on my city building inspector before the project could move forward. I ended up going to City Hall both times to see what the issue was and to offer assistance in moving things forward.

In the first case NuWatt had not submitted any information to the City as of the time of my visit. It was a few more weeks before they did.

In the 2nd case (final inspection) the City told me that the final inspection happened many weeks before and NuWatt was aware that the project passed and was signed off on.

My current situation is that the electric company came to my home over 3 months ago to change out the meter. I was told a couple of things by the individual who installed the meter.

First, I would need to wait 10 days before the “solar company” handling my install would get the notification that the work was complete. I waited 2 weeks and called only to find out the NuWatt claimed they had not received what they needed from the electric company to close out the project.

Second, the electric company installer said that if I knew what breakers to turn on it was ok to activate the system now that the meter had been installed. Turns out the electrician who installed our system showed me the 2 breakers that I would need to flip to activate the system.

So, in August 2023, about 6 months after financing for the new system started (since install date was February 2023, that’s when we started paying off the new system), I flipped the breakers to start to recoup some of our lost opportunity.

You might be asking why did I give NuWatt 2 stars with such a negative review...

To be honest, 1 star goes to NuWatt being the only company that was able to get an entire 9.6k system 100% on my south facing roof. The other star goes to the installation crew who were AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! The real issue with NuWatt is that project management does not exist.

It’s really a shame how terrible my project has been handled. I have neighbors asking about my system and I let them know who I went with and that I do not recommend them. I hate to do that because I need NuWatt to support my system but I just can’t recommend them.

I’m done calling/emailing NuWatt to get a status update. I still owe the final payment on the system. NuWatt, if you’d like to get your final payment, check your records and see if you’ve received what you need from the electric company in the last 3 months. Then give me a call so we can wrap this thing up.

NuWatt Energy is a great company and I could not be happier with the end product. NuWatt was very responsive and professional through out the whole project. Special thanks to Jonah Guerin and Maan Alawa. I will recommend this company to my friends, family, and colleagues.

Overall a good experience from initial conversation with Maan till regular followups with Shehzad. I believe it’s good value for money investment with NuWatt as the Panasonic panels seems well built and have a good reputation. Shehzad was real quick in replying and answering questions. My system is yet to start producing energy and connected to grid however process so far smooth.

I used NuWatt Energy for our residential install of a rooftop solar system and a 7-room heat pump installation to convert our house from oil heat to electric. I have been extremely satisfied with their team and their work and would recommend them. We started engaging with them through energysage in scoping out the solar project. We selected them among several other competitors as I preferred their design and product and simple, straightforward approach. They were able to schedule the project within a few months and we were up and running faster than I could've imagined. They took care of all the details that they could and the install was fast and easy. After realizing we were working with a great team, we decided to request a quote for a heat pump installation to take the next step in our plan. They performed equally well on that project, work was done very well, and everything is up and running as expected. They also handled almost all of the rebate processing which took a huge load off. Highly recommended.

During installation, they handled things well, managing town inspectors and addressing a few unexpected issues that arose. The crew's efficiency and quality of work were noteworthy. They demonstrated competence and didn't take shortcuts or cut corners. Throughout the process, NuWatt maintained a professional approach and delivered good results. For those looking into solar options, NuWatt is worth considering based on my experience.

Our solar system has been on for 3 days!! I am very pleased with the whole project from quoting, installing, and turning on the system. NuWatt's price was also very competitive. Their electrician worked thru winter to installl the system that came out beautiful. Shehzad, the project manager, kept me inform of the the entire process in a timely manner. I highly recommend talking NuWatt if you are thinking about solar.

Choosing NuWatt Energy for our solar panels was a fantastic decision. They helped us every step of the way, from layout planning to final inspection. The design, installation, and price of our 13.9 kW solar system were great. NuWatt was easy to work with to design a system for our roof that filled the available space and did a nice job of installing it cleanly in two days. Unfortunately, NuWatt's assurance that we would get annual net-metering was a lie, so we spent $5500 to increase the size of the system in order to net $700 *less* energy. Don't believe the sales guy, he doesn't know what he is talking about, and the company won't stand behind those assurances.

Highly recommend NuWatt. I had a 9.9kW system installed in Boston. Communication was great; I received responses on all my questions and emails within 1-2 hours during business hours. We hit some snags with the city regarding permits due to city employees being on vacation, but Shehzad worked with the city to resolve everything. Overall, am very pleased with the install and the process overall.

Very happy with NuWatt Energy's solar installation, which effectively powers our home and electric car. We're very satisfied with our decision to install solar panels nearly three years ago. Our system, consisting of 36 Panasonic panels with micro inverters, has significantly reduced our energy costs. Our monthly Eversource electric bill now averages just $12.91, which covers the cost of the special meter required for solar energy. This represents a substantial saving compared to our previous bills.
