Best treatment company in the GR area. I've tried them all over the last 15 years and have been with Turf Tech for 4 years now. Yard looks thicker, healthier, and greener every year. Get compliments all the time! We haven't had weed or crabgrass issues like I did with previous companies since they started taking care of our lawn. The techs aren't always the same, but they all take their time, are friendly, and knowledgeable. Communication is excellent. I used to be a lawn tech and commercial/residential pesticide applicator back in the day. It's nice to see these techs taking pride in keeping their customers lawns looking good. I still get quotes/offers to switch to other companies, but every one is much higher cost per treatment compared to Turf Tech. I will be staying with Ken and his team for the foreseeable future. Turf Tech was very flexible and accommodating with my lawn aeration service. They were able to work with my schedule and had great communication (special thanks to Amelia) throughout the whole process. I marked all of my sprinklers and one took a small hit that damaged it. They were able to come out and replace it free of charge within 2 days! I will absolutely be using turf tech for any lawn care/landscaping needs moving forward.

Service has been fine, but until requested, we had no idea when the tech would arrive and had a few issues in this regard due to cars in the way. My wife absolutely detested the odor of the chemical applications and this has been a serious issue for us. (Not the fault of the applicants, of course.)
Due to drought this summer I failed to realize any real improvement in my yard. I have no intention of watering the yard regularly or installing an irrigation system so continuing Turf Tech's services is to little avail. That's on me. Earlier in the season we had little to no weeds with the Turf Tech applications, so they delivered what was promised.
I believe that this service is great for those who do all that is necessary to keep their yard in top shape - water, reseeding or sodding where necessary, meticulous attention to barriers to weed control chemicals and fertilizer, etc... Not my thing, I suppose. I was hoping for an easy avenue to a really green, lush yard but this requires far more effort than a fertilizer service can offer.
In the future, I'll do what I can personally but not with the added expense of a professional service.
If a homeowner want a really fine yard and is willing to do ALL that is necessary to get there and maintain it - Turf Tech would be my first and only recommendation.

First time we used Scholten for spring clean up and mulch application. This was a two day job and within the first hour I noticed a big difference from the previous company we use to use. Juan the foreman was polite, and communicated frequently with my husband and I during his time here. His crew was friendly and polite. Thanks for an incredible job.

Used Scholten for about 5 years now. Not one issue or negative experience. Competitive rates with top notch service. Highly recommended.

I tried using them several times - I won't again. The grass seed they sprayed in the fall came in horrible....very little seed used. When I tried to contact them this Spring, they no-showed me 3x over the course of a week, and never bothered to call or return a call. Lots of good other local options to go with.

If you are looking for a reliable landscape contractor it might be prudent to look elsewhere as this contractor has difficulty meeting his contracted obligations, particularly those concerning snowplowing. Even with prompting via phone with requests to fulfill the services they were not met; additionally damages to landscaping and sprinkler facilities are expensive. Its a shame when you try to use local firms.....

Dan and his team were terrific. Their prices are very competitive. He worked around our vacation schedule and put our project on the fast track. We were very happy with the results.

Been using them in our neighborhood for lawn fertilization, leaf cleanup, and snow removal for years now. They're straightforward, respectable and reliable people who have always worked to earn our business. If something isn't done perfect the first time, they'll help to make it right.

Dusty and his team brought in black dirt, graded and hydro-seeded a week ago, so we're waiting for our first sprouts. The crew was professional and conscientious, adding extra value with great ideas we hadn't thought of. Nice work!

This company was given 3 chances to hydro seed a yard. Both the first and second time there was very little seed and the only thing that came up was weeds. Communication was TERRIBLE!!! the third time they hydro seeded, the grass is slowly coming up but many areas are bare. Dan is a nice guy to talk to, but terrible quality and never shows up when they are supposed to. I would HIGHLY recommend going with another company.

There are two main problems that we experienced with Scholten. The first is that they don't deliver on-contract. Similarly to the reviews of other posters, Scholten regularly failed to perform contracted services despite numerous notifications to the owner that work was being paid for, but not completed. This situation was never remediated. The second problem is that our lawn crew was permitted to use tobacco products while working on our property. On multiple occasions, I observed team members spitting chewing tobacco on our lawn. I called the owner to file a complaint, and he told us we were being unreasonable. The owner demonstrated great difficulty in addressing our concerns in a mature, adult-like, and professional manner. I highly recommend avoiding this company. They do not perform the services they contract their customers to, and they use chewing tobacco on-site. They are not a competent and professional service provider.

Scholten's team is outstanding! Very professional, courteous, prompt and hard hard workers!!! Today there aren't many companies that make you feel like they have your best interest at heart and Scholten proves that over and over!! You won't go wrong with hiring them for your landscaping project! Plus, they give back to their community. Just recently they donated a tremendous amount of their time and materials to a local schools playground build!!!! Not many companies do that anymore...A++++ Scholten!!!

Last week 6/19-20 Scholten Landscape came & did bed prep work & installed 12 yds of mulch to all of our flower beds & spruce tree berms. Scholten sent 3 young men to do the work-Juan, Kyle & J D. The guys cleaned & edged all beds that had overgrown the metal edging, removed all broken branches/ weeds & sprayed Prime weed preventer before spreading the mulch. The guys did an awesome job in very HOT temperatures & were very courteous & professional,
We have Scholten Landscape do all of our work at our property- fertilizer appl., perimeter pest control spray, flower bed weed spray, lawn aeration/overseeding & landscape projects. Other neighbors that we have recommended Scholten Landscape to over the years are really pleased by their work also!

We use Scholten at every available opportunity at all of our properties and businesses from new landscaping installs, design, mulch, irrigation installs, mowing, and fert. They do professional work - in some cases I have called for an irrigation issue and they’ve arrived faster than the pizza delivery man would have. We’ll continue with Scholten moving forward and recommend their services to anyone!

We have used Scholten about three or four times to have them put down new mulch for us about every two years. This time Juan and his crew did a fantastic job and also removed a small tree stump for us. Highly recommend their services.

We’ve had have Thornapple handle multiple projects for us, and the experience has been excellent every time. They’re very responsive, easy to work with, and the quality of their work has been great. Everything has been done professionally and on time. Definitely worth it, and would gladly recommend them!
