We were waiting to blow the rest of our leaves until all the leaves were off the trees, but sadly the snow came over Thanksgiving & we missed the opportunity to do our final yard clean up so we had to call in the professionals!

I reached out to Villarreal Outdoor Services on a Sunday because they got such great reviews online in hopes they could squeeze us in before the next snowfall happening at the end of the week! Ern responded right away and said he would do his best to fit us in which I greatly appreciated!

Next thing I know he’s contacting me Monday morning and said he was in the area and could be at our house shortly for the yard clean up, which I thought was amazing that he got to us a day after I contacted him! Ern & his other team member did an INCREDIBLE job with our yard clean up (blowing, raking & hauling the leaves away) even when everything was super wet from the melted snow/rain! Our yard looks spotless & he went over everything with me when they completed the job to make sure I was happy, which I appreciated!

Ern & his team were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish! His professionalism, work ethic, hard work, kindness, attention to detail & results were top notch at a fair price! (Also, it’s a pet peeve of mine when contractors arrive in an ‘unmarked’ vehicle, and his vehicle was clearly identifiable and he was wearing a company shirt, which I loved as well. It really helps to know who is in the neighborhood! Another note of professionalism.)

We’ve used Ern twice now on weeks we’ve had no time to fit mowing in/when our driveway edging has needed a serious refresh. He was recommended to us by our next door neighbors and has done a phenomenal job each time. He worked so hard to clean up our overgrown driveway edges and gave us back so many inches on both sides. His prices are super reasonable and he clearly takes pride in his work. Will be using his services again for sure! (And now we need to power wash the sides of the driveway he gave back to us haha)

These guys are great! Contacted to set up a lawn core aeration. They responded the same day and were able to stop out and complete the service the following Monday. Ern did a very thorough job. Highly recommend!

Villarreal Outdoor Services did a fantastic job cleaning up our huge amount of leaves this November. Ern was very accommodating and realistic when he came to assess our project. He and his crew showed up quickly and cleaned things up just as I wanted. There are a lot of garden beds and wood borders that had to be blown out, plus the ton of leaves just on the lawn. We’ve used various leaf services for over 15 years, and this time it was actually fun, because Ern listened to what we wanted. We really appreciate his service and look forward to more projects!

Pros: Efficient work and appropriately completed my spring clean up. I’d use them again for that and that alone if the following did not take place.

Cons: not organized or timely at all, no communication about when they’ll be coming and just got a call randomly saying they’d show up that day. Changed two separate scheduled appointments on me last minute, one was a mechanical issue and one I think they just forgot. Not how I expected. Even when I’d call and leave voicemails asking hed get back to me within 5-7 business days and then also wouldn’t text back.

One of my projects was to kill some invasive ground cover, and they managed to kill a lot more than that sadly. I had a new landscaper come today and they really explain the extensive damage the glyphosate did to my 10 year old finicky Jane magnolia, 3 other well established bushes and trees, my hydrangeas, roses and many many of my recently planted annuals. What was a $300 spraying and weeding turned into a $700 loss to replace my dying plants.
When politely confronted about the damage to my very healthy plants, it was not taken lightly and was taken very defensively about me “nitpicking” and they left the job midway and chose to not continue further as they refused to take care of the replacement and wished to just leave it at that. Fine by me. I think Rob is overall a good person but that was not a professional way to handle the job and with this information I personally would not hire them again. Especially when I very specifically asked if I needed to move some plants and they said no your other plants will be totally fine and gave me a “100% guarantee” verbatim. Crazy.

That was my experience- I’m sure people have positive ones, I however did not and I therefore do not recommend

I needed to get my landscaping in order and done before our family held it's annual memorial get together. Jay and Rob saved us ! Thank you for honest hard work, and doing it last minute. Great job 👍 highly recommend.

Tom & company have landscaped Kennedy

Flower Shop property for us 19 years ago and we were thrilled with everything including how well thought out the drainage would be throughout the years.
They just updated everything last year and again it surpassed our expectations. I have used them for our home and it is always the best experience of the entire construction project.

Rooks spent time really getting to know our needs and came out a few times and really listened to us. They took us to see different trees in their golf cart to discuss options and were very careful and at the end everything was perfect and they gave us a sweet and modern centerpiece and some beautiful cards. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this organization is and how well they know plants! Fans for life!

Rooks did a beautiful job on our landscaping last year for our new home. When spring came this year one of our hydrangea plants was not thriving. I called Rooks and left a message and forgot about it. A week or so later, they arrived with a new , beautiful hydrangea that they replanted in place of the one that wasn’t looking so good. Not only was I so impressed that they honored their one year guarantee, but that they did it without me having to follow up! I have been so happy with their design, product and customer service.

Scott and the Rooks crew did an excellent job! They refreshed our yard with new plants and landscaping rocks. Scott listened to our wishes and developed a plan that exceeded our expectations. Rooks is highly recommended!

Tom Rooks and crew just finished installing 32 trees on our property that was a barren landscape. We are over the moon with the results! 1/2 deciduous, 1/2 evergreen. A wonderful mix of trees, and the finished planting is superb. The trees are incredibly healthy, just starting to open their leaves. The Japanese lilac trees and Prairie Fire Crabapples will be in full bloom in the next month, a major bonus. Very, very happy.
