I’ve been using this service for about twenty years. Ed always comes out promptly to give me an estimate and usually fits me in within a couple of days. One Sunday night I called him around 9pm as a large tree limb fell on my neighbors driveway and the crew was there first thing Monday morning to remove it. He keeps me informed if there is a delay such as last week with the high temps when the crew had to take a break with the heat. All his workers are polite and do a great job cleaning up afterwards. They all go the “extra mile”. And Ed doesn’t just recommend removal if he feels the tree can be saved.

Ed and his crew were GREAT. Timely in responding and scheduling the work, AND in completing the work. The crew knew exactly what needed to be done and how to do it.

Price was right and quality of the work was excellent.

We have been using Alan's Tee Service for 30 yrs. They took terrific care of our 70yr old maples until they had to come down. They have done all the tree & large bush trimming as well. I refer them to everyone. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they are very knowledgeable. The crew is super nice and mindful of other plants when trimming. The clean up is stellar. Fast response to calls, fast estimating, fast appt. Awesome company!

Really wanted to like Alan's Tree Service. After having a conversation with the owner and awarding them the business to do the job, I referred them to my parents. The owner, had no problem quoting and doing my parents job in under 2 days. Meanwhile, he totally failed to do my job. Called the owner multiple times - and sent an email. No response - ghosted. I was really ready to do repeat business with them, but apparently a $1000 job for half day of work isn't lucrative enough. Very disappointed.

Update November 17th - owner replied to this google review trying to gaslight. Like hey if you just picked up to phone or texted me - we could have worked something out! Communication is a two way street. How would I have known about your personnel challenges.

Alan’s Tree Service removed a huge old oak tree in my backyard last week. They did an excellent job and gave me an excellent price! The tree was in a small area closely surrounded by my house, garage, fence and deck. They were careful to not cause any damage. They ground the stump. Cleaned up the debris, the stump grindings and took it all away! Thank you Edward and your crew!

Once again, an awesome job of tree removal, this time for our home in Troy! Work was done on time and exactly as quoted. Very professional and workers always extremely polite. We needed several trees removed and stumps ground before rough grading for our new pool. We had one particularly challenging 40+ foot River Birch that needed to go. I was very impressed how skillfully their climber took it down without incident and damage to the surrounding arborvitaes. We had a similar job well done in 2013 by Alan's when we re-landscaped my daughter's home in Clawson. Thanks again for the fine service!

Alan's Tree Service did an excellent job. I had a tree removed in my backyard. The crew did an excellent job and great clean up. Ed was very nice and was quick to answer any questions I had. I would highly recommend these guys.

This was my first experience using Alan's Tree Service. I received an estimate from Ed (the owner) on Friday. His price was good and less than one of his local competitors. (1) - I needed a large dead tree removed that had fallen in my backyard. (2) - Remove a very tall mulberry tree that was next to power lines and phone cables. (3) - Remove all weed trees that had grown along my backyard fence.
The crew showed up Tuesday morning and started work at 9:00am. It was amazing to watch how skillful the tree cutter was. I could see that safety was his top priority. By 11:00am all work was completed. The debris cleanup was excellent.
On a side note, I’ve been trying to live trap a ground hog for over a month. I noticed the tree cutter reposition the trap into shade behind a shrub and threw some leaves in it. It was caught a few hours later – Thank You!

I was looking to hire a company to do a heavy trimming on the shrub fence around my half acre property, so I can easy maintain after that. Last year, I had two different companies that I agree to them on the price, but they never showed up to do the job. This year, I start looking again and I saw the good reviews for Alan’s Tree service, in Clawson. I email them with my request and the next day, I got a phone call from Ed, the owner. He came to see the job the next day and he was very reasonable with the price he was asking, to do the job. The next week he sent his team over and WOOOW! I couldn’t believe it how fast and good they complete the job and clean up, afterwards. I will recommend Alan’s Tree Service to anybody. Thank you, Ed! You are the best!

I had a great experience with Alan's Tree Service. While other companies told me I needed to remove a large maple, Ed told me I told how to water it until Fall when it could be trimmed. When other companies tried sell me deep root fertilizing, he explained why is was bad for a tree of this age even though he provides this service.

Today his crew showed up to trim the tree. They were professional and did a great job. They even left my lawn and drive cleaner than when they arrived.

I have used Alans Tree Service a number of times. I am completely satisfied with the work completed. Ed, responded to our call on the weekend. I was fortunate his team was able to come out the next day. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. They worked great as a team. The gentleman that climbed the trees was incredible, talented and demonstrated good safety awareness. The crew leader was available and communicated with me whenever I needed him. He listened to me and explained what he was going to do. The other two gentlemen where work horses. They moved, cut and shredded the limbs efficiently and cleaned up the yard well. I used Alan's Tree Service to remove two trees from my back yard, one large and both in tricky spots along the fence line and under wires. They did a great job. Ed was wonderful for the initial quote: very knowledgeable regarding the trees, possible diseases, and insects. The communication leading up to the service was good, and the crew did a great job that both myself and my neighbors were happy with. Bonus points for the little details. For instance, they had to take down some service wires connected to my house before felling the trees. When they put them back up, they were better than they had been initially. Highly recommended tree service in local Clawson.

We had Alan's Tree service remove a large Elm tree and trim several large limbs from a maple in the front yard. Open communication and fair price. Ed the owner always returned my call's worked with me on in details on what they proposed. They were flexible to completing the work. Once I returned to inspect the job and was very pleased on the condition of my yard. Grass was raked clean, stump ground down well. Not a stick to be seen. I wouldn't hesitate using them again. If you need any type of tree service, call this company. I got quite a few estimates before giving the job to Alan's. Ed came to my home and gave me an estimate. I consider myself a good judge of character, I knew within one minute of talking to Ed that he was going to get the job if the price was reasonably competitive with the other estimates. He actually had the best price for the job and I knew I found a gem of a company. The crew came out with top of the line equipment and got to work, finished the job. Alan's tree service was excellent! We got 3 quotes for the same work and Ed from Alan's was by far the best value. Tree crew was highly responsive and considerate of our landscaping and underground sprinkling. Guys were all super nice, cleaned up very well after the job was complete. Would highly recommend and I will be calling them for all my tree needs in the future.

Alan’s Tree Service is excellent and highly recommend. They were referred to me by a neighbor, we live in Royal Oak and have many trees on our properties. Alan came out and reviewed each tree and created a plan with the goal not to eliminate trees if possible, but would do what was needed. As it turns out, it was selective tree trimming, making sure home, lines, and other property was safe from potential issues. Appreciate his service, make sure to look him up if you have any tree related needs.

Alan’s Tree service, yet again, exceeded all expectations last weekend. I called Ed to have him swing by and give me an estimate for tree removal and stump grinding. Pricing was incredibly reasonable and service was very prompt. They left the area cleaner than they found it as well. They completed the entire job in a couple hours, tops. I’ve used Alan’s Tree Service multiple times and I would highly recommend them for any tree service needs.
