Workers are nice. But owner is ripoff scam artist!!! Do NOT use them unless you like to be taken advantage of!!!! They charged me $17,600.00 to replace a portion of the basement sewer line. Four days later, water started backing up in the basement on a Friday. They came out, called the boss and said they would be back on Monday to jackhammer another sewer line and left me with a flooding basement. I called another plumber who cleared the line without having to jackhammer the floor. BEWARE!!!
UPDATE: Since I posted this review, the owner is harassing me by phone. I blocked his number and he called again from a different number!!!

This company showed up on time were very pleasant. They cleaned up and were extremely professional. I would highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.

On Mr. Downeys web site, it allows you to make an appointment for a free estimate on line, which I did. Soon I received an email declining the appointment. I didn't get a reason why or a request to schedule it on another day. I was confused so I submitted a review. After the owner read my review he called and was a bit upset. He said that he would be glad to come out and give me a free estimate. I removed my review because he was willing to make things right. We agreed that his company would come out today at 11 am. WELL. NO CALL NO SHOW! For customer service you get a zero!

I had an outside water spicket replaced . The 2 guys that came out were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable.The price was very reasonable. I would HIGHLY recommend this company .

Bob Downey plumbing co. arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the issue with my plumbing. Ted explained the problem clearly and offered a fair estimate for the repair. The work was completed efficiently and to a high standard, with attention to detail and care for my home. They even took the time to clean up afterward, leaving the area spotless. Thanks Ted !!

Bob Downey, plumbing company is absolutely magnificent. Mike the plumber and his apprentice. Noah were absolutely amazing very attentive to all my needs extremely friendly and welcoming 10 out of 10. Had to replace my sewer line under the basement floor, guys did a great job it was a lot of work they went above and beyond making sure it was right and in the middle of it all my hot water tank went out they promptly replaced that. Kudos to Bob and his crew.

Recently bought a house in Warren and didn’t realize it had so many plumbing issues called Bob and they made the process so easy especially from the stress of buying a new home. 5/19/2025 - This is another review for services needed today. I needed my Kitchen Sink drain cleared and Mike from Bob Downey Plumbing came to handle the work. He was courteous and very professional. He shared information that could help us for the future and I would call him back again. My sink is now draining and he cleaned up after the work was done. I am very happy. Thank you!

2024- I had a really bad Shower Faucet issue. Bob Downey Plumbing came and gave an estimate and then ordered parts to fix the problem instead of making me get a whole new faucet which would have cost a lot of money. They even had to cut of a part off of my faucet to get the new part on. They were very persistent to make sure that they repaired it correctly. Both Bob & Ted came to my home and are very courteous. My problem was a bad one and they fixed it like new and made me very happy. I plan on using Bob Downey Plumbing again. Thank you guys!!!!! You're the best.

Delayed review because initially I was just going to cut my losses and not bother, but after finding water damage his plumber caused I will indeed write that review:

I called due to having a clogged toilet drain. Unlucky for me a storm rolled through that night. Therefore, the next day I had a 6-630am appointment to have my drained cleared. Countless people were calling due to flooded basements as well. After about 20 minutes of trying, the plumber and (assuming) the apprentice told me they would have to come back later because they "needed" to move on to other jobs.

I called the plumber several times throughout the day and dodged my call. I finally called the main office and got through. The plumber returned my call and let me know he can't come back and wanted me to wait a week "since I was going to be out of town anyways". I called the main line after work and let them know to forget it, because they wasted my day, left the mess (literally mud and dirt they brought in) for me to clean and weren't too concerned with helping me.

NOW, I initially cut my losses and was going to leave it at that. But then I discovered they never even bothered to properly reconnect the coupling nut in between the trap and waste line. So water dripped for lord knows how long and damaged the vanity cabinet the sink sits in. I cannot overstate how frustrating that day was and dealing with Bob Downey Plumbing.

Poor communications inside and out. I will not call them again. I'd give them a zero if Google would let me because they did nothing for us. We called them last Monday a.m. to replace a faucet and repair a leaking shutoff. They said they'd send someone to repair it the next day and they gave us a rough estimate, which we were fine with. On Tuesday, their guy came out but thought he was there only to give us a quote when we were expecting a repair. He apologized and said someone would come back Thursday or Friday to repair it. We called again on Thursday to see what time they were coming. They made a bunch of excuses about being short-handed and said they had us on the schedule for the following Tuesday. So they wanted us to wait a whole week? We reminded them it was leaking and that we had already waited several days. They said that they'd treat it as an emergency and be out the next day (Friday). Well, Friday comes and no one shows up or even calls us to let us know what day they might show up, if ever. iNCREDIBLE! So, we called Royal Oak Heating Cooling and Plumbing, instead and they came out the next business day and took care of it first thing. If you're thinking about calling Downey, try Royal Oak instead.

Bob Downey plumbing redid my 75 year old mothers pipes when her basement started backing up with water they started it that day but first which I liked the best about them is they made sure to call me before letting my mother write a check or sign a contract before starting and doing the work. Which most people would just let a 75-year-old sign a contract and not know what they really were getting into Bob made sure to call me first. They did a great job and had it completely finished in one day. The one main plumber they always use is very sweet to my mother especially since my father had just passed she is very lonely and he sat and explained everything to her and made her feel like she was apart of the whole thing. Thank you for making us feel like family.thank u Bob and thank u Lon.it would have been a nitemare without u.

I recently hired Bob Downey plumbing for a plumbing issue at my home, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service. From the initial call to the completion of the job, everything was handled professionally and efficiently.

No showed two days in a row after waiting all weekend to jet a 25 foot pipe. Never called. We called 4 times and still didn't show.. .very disappointing

Friendly plumbing service at a fair price!
Had a rotted main coupler as well as needed new shower faucet, handles, and new line up to shower head.

They were professional and understanding as I have an elderly father with Tourette’s syndrome that kept pestering the crew.
