Great experience with GRC doing a major 1,200+ sqft addition to my home. Quality service with great subs and Daniel is great to work with.

Loved having Grand Rapids Contracting redoing our kitchen, installing our flooring in kitchen, dining, and living room, and redesigning a closet space! They were all excellent in their work, focused on the job at hand, skilled and knowledgeable in their craft and a joy to have in our home! We can highly recommend them!

It was great working with Daniel from Grand Rapids Contracting! Everyone working on the project were awesome and very professional. Daniel was fantastic and the communication was excellent. He was on top of everything when we would make changes to our original plan. I highly recommend and will be working with him again on future projects

I can't recommend Daniel enough! He made sure our kitchen-area renovation got done on time and with incredible quality. His amazing communication, professionalism, and strong dedication to high quality work really showed with our final product. We got 2 half walls removed, hardwood put in our kitchen (with a full floor sanding), a new countertop put in as well as hood. I'm sure the attached before/after pictures highlight this.

After a thorough search, I found an HVAC team that truly exceeded expectations. They arrived within 40 minutes, equipped and ready to tackle the job. The crew was professional and explained the entire duct installation process clearly. The attention to detail was impressive, ensuring optimal airflow efficiency. By the time they left, everything was spotless, and my home's air quality had noticeably improved. I couldn't be happier with the results!

We used GR Contracting to renew and open up our kitchen by adding 10’ to the interior space, removing interior walls and then adding a 12’x22’ covered cedar porch.
Daniel worked hard to come up with a design that worked with our space. This change was very extensive with moving plumbing, hvac, electrical, all new cabinets, countertops and flooring.
The work took a bit over three months but the results were fabulous.
All subcontractors were professional and cleaned up after themselves.
The GrC team made sure we were 100% satisfied before the job was final!
    Great Job!!

Crooked company, extortionist quotes and poor customer service. Buyer beware.

Called 4 times through a 2 week period and left a voicemail every time. Never got a call back. How is this company in business?

UDECON recently helped me get a quote on asbestos-wrap removal from the HVAC ducts of an old house I was in the inspection period for, prior to purchase. UDECON was timely and highly communicative (extremely helpful during an inspection period!!). The quote amount came in at a very fair price, and although I didn't end up buying the house, I will definitely consider UDECON in the future. They seem like great guys.

I spoke to various contractors to obtain estimates for the removal of an asbestos coated octopus furnace from a residential dwelling. UDECON charges $150.00 for an estimate. UDECON came and took measurements for the estimate, and I paid them $150.00.

In the meantime, another contractor provided an estimate for $1,200.00 to do the work. Even though I was still waiting for the UDECON estimate, I decided to go forward with the other company, who pulled all necessary permits, took all necessary safety precautions including containment, supplied air, etc. and completed the work in 1 day.

UDECON ultimately provided an estimate in the amount of $12,400.00 (10x the amount of the competing estimate). I told UDECON that I believe that their estimate was unreasonable and requested a refund of the $150 estimate fee, which they refused to give.

I informed UDECON that in light of their refusal to refund my estimate fee, I would be leaving negative feedback because I paid for a reasonable estimate, which I did not receive. In response, UDECON threatened to sue me stating that:

“In lieu of your black mail (sic) response, I would be happy to send this off to our attorneys, along with signed contract by you, and the email chain consistent with slander threats. Please let me know if you change your mind.”

I was contacted by the owner of UDECON, and I told him I would wait 7 days before I left negative feedback to see if they still wanted to resolve the matter. It has been over 30 days and UDECON still has failed to address my concerns or refund the estimate fee.

I would strongly advise against using this company. I have been hiring contractors for over 10 years and have never left negative feedback. It is my opinion that UDECON provides estimates that are patently unreasonable. UDECON also resorted to thuggish litigation threats instead of trying to resolve matters with me. Save your $150.00 and go with a different company. Ultimately, going with a competitor saved me $11,200.00.

UDECON fooled me once; Shame on them.

Sioux helped us design our kitchen. She is hands down the best. She was the only reason we bought our cabinets from here.

Don't get installation services here. Damaged my property, claimed no responsibility. When I posted a negative review elsewhere they tried to pay me to take it down (not nearly close to what they owed for the damage). When I turned that down, they had an attorney send me a letter threatening if I did not remove the review.
HD - I will continue to post everywhere until you take responsibility.

I wish I could give 0 stars. We paid for carpeting in April and have jumped through a million hoops to try and get it installed. Our installers came out to our house 3 times and had the same issue all three times. There were a million excuses and reasons why it took so long and now we have canceled our order. You will never get your product easily or on time, do NOT have them install anything.

Stay away from the installation services especially for siding and roofing. We went to Home Depot and picked out our siding an shingles and when we had a presentation we were informed they would not install what we choose. THEY WOULD ONLY INSTALL CERTAIN OPTIONS. This was a total bait and switch. In addition they were extremely high. We had contacted the manager of the installation Dennis whom is out of central Michigan and he mentioned "THEY WANT TO BE ONE OF THE HIGHEST IN COST!"

This was defiantly not "more savings, more doing"

Do not buy carpet here. Carpet itself is fine, and the people who put it in were conscientious and did a good job. The company they contract with to schedule carpet installations, Untied Home Services, is terrible. Had to schedule six weeks out; nothing sooner. Two days before install, they called to reschedule. Said if we didn't take a new date three weeks farther out, they would push us farther down the list and we'd have to wait even longer. Day of install they called to reschedule again, saying installer's truck broke down and we had no choice. Installer was already working in our house, no broken down truck. Liars never prosper, unless they work for home Depot scheduling carpet installations in Michigan. Had to wait over two months to get carpet replaced in our flooded basement. Multiple calls to store management and national HD customer care number provided no resolution or improvement. Free installation: you get what you pay for.
The rest of the store is fine.

Designer Paul H. from Grand Rapids (Kentwood) area Home Depot Installation Services came to my home to give an estimate for cabinet refacing. He pressured me to sign the contract quickly after promising me many things would be done (such as fixing the peeling insides of cabinets, and placing panels on the bottoms of the cabinets) that I was later told by the carpenter who did the job are NEVER included in cabinet refacing. Paul promised me a tilt-out storage area in front of the sink - carpenter told me they almost never can install one due to most cabinets not being deep enough. Basically, the designer Paul lied to me and rushed me into signing the contract without giving me time to discover that the promised work was not listed. He is dishonest and just wanted me to sign the paperwork so he would get his money. I was finally able to convince HD Installation home services, after several phone calls, to send someone out to fix the peeling insides of the cabinets (as best he could), but they would not have done it if I hadn't threatened a bad review of their work. The outside of the cabinets looks great, and the carpenter who did the work was great. My message: be SURE you know what you are getting and what you are not, and make SURE it is all in writing. The designer Paul H. covers most of Michigan I believe, so this does not just apply to the Grand Rapids area.

Oscar Larson does the Operations and Maintenance of my fast charging stations. They unfortunately have to deal with ChargePoint the maker of my hardware. Despite ChargePoint when the OWL team is here they do their absolute best based on the circumstances.
