Had a Generac generator installed. Will not service what they sold. Will not return phone calls. Terrible company to do business with. Once paid you can say goodbye to this company. Even have a signed contract that they will not honor. Stay away from Platz.

They showed up on time, and did above and beyond what we expected. They were through and polite. If we could give them more than five stars we would!

Had a Generac installed a few years ago and had no trouble then. Also, had my yard light upgraded two years ago. I decided to add another yard light on the opposite of my house so I called Dale on Dec. 23rd. Didn't get called back. Called in January, was told I was on the schedule list and they would get back with me. Called two weeks ago and got a recording but no call back and called back last week and was told I wasn't on the list for call-back and apparently they didn't want my business. I can no longer do any business and also cannot refer anyone to this company after this kind of treatment. I didn't know he had people working in the office as I had been talking directly to Dale Platz himself but I guess they have gotten too big to deal with small accounts.

Great company! They take very good care of my generator.

I want to say I am very blessed that Platz Electric Co. was able to help us out so quickly, we had two trees fall and knock our power line down. It ripped the power meter off the house as well. They were out in a very timely manner, very professional, and had it fixed within a few hours. Absolutely recommend for anyone with any electrical needs. Thanks again!!

NON-RESPONSIVE TO SERVICE NEEDS. They are all happy, smiles and friendly when you initially purchase, but then promptly drop the ball on servicing what they sell. It took them over a year to respond to a service call. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I would give zero stars if the review system would allow it.

We purchased a Generac generator from Platz and the installation went well and they were great when we purchased. HOWEVER, getting them to service it (we purchased the extended service agreement) or even return our calls is impossible. We called and called leaving messages upon messages and received no response. We eventually had to hire and pay a different company to come service the generator. Fast forward over a year to today, Platz shows up to service the generator. IT TOOK THEM OVER A YEAR TO RESPOND!!! What a joke. I called them, again getting the answering machine, and told them to lose our contract and to never send anyone to our address again.

I SEE THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER TO MY REVIEW. Funny, but once the generator was installed we had a service guy show up 1 time, after calling multiple times, because the yellow light was on. He told us it was nothing to worry about and left without doing anything. We never saw a service tech after that, nor did we receive any invoicing for service calls you say were done. Provide me with proof of the service on June 21, 2021, something signed by us and I will be happy to pay it, but I'm betting you cannot provide this proof. I work from home and therefore I am always at home during the times that normal services would be performed. Also, there is no tag on the cover indicating that any service was performed, as we were told there was when you called us after my review was posted. I have NEVER seen your technicians, therefore either you are lying or your technicians are lying. As for being verbally abusive to your tech, he got angry when we told him to leave and he verbally abused us and actually threatened my husband with violence. I will never use Platz, nor will I ever recommend anyone to use Platz.

Generac had them come out for a warranty call on a new Generac generator. They did not do the installation but they found a factory defect in the unit and plugged a wire in. They contacted the electrician that I had used looking to collect rather than submit it for warranty. They did not contact me. I told my electrician not to pay them a dime.When I contacted them they told me that Generac warranties "sucked" and they felt it was a waste of time submit the claim, I had already contacted Generac and they advised me to get an invoice and that they would handle it. I asked Platz for the invoice and it never arrived. I still wanted a company to call if I had problems in the future. I called them to see if they could put me on their customer list. They sent me a "Service contract" to sign Which I did and sent it back to them.They lost the contract. I sent them another one to which I received no acknowledgement. Months then a year and months passed. I contacted them again to find out what was going on. They said that they couldn't find the signed contract. I have record of this communication via text. I sent them a picture of a copy of the signed contract that I had saved in case they "lost" it again. Suddenly they said they found it amongst some other files. I was irritated but fine with it as long as they were coming to service the unit. They told me that I was now on their list. A month or two past and I heard nothing. I contacted them again via text (record retained on my end) to inquire as to when I would receive a service call. I explained that the generator was operating fine but it had a yellow light on. They said that it just a reminder for the technician to check the battery. They said that my service call would occur in the week beginning October 22, 2023. I informed them that I did not want to have to do the service myself and have to work in the snow. The week came and passed and they did not show nor did they call or text. It snowed today. I had informed them via text that their service was no longer required. I actually had two electricians at my house for other work. One of them was a former Generac tech. He checked the unit and it was fine. I was ready if they had shown
up and found "Issues". I called them today and asked them if they had read my text telling them not to come. They had not and had no idea what I was talking about. The discussion got heated with the associate basically calling me and my wife liars. She used some vulgar language during this exchange. I called Generac Corporation and informed them of my experience. I do not recommend
this company.

This went on for close to TWO years. Read the other NEGATIVE reviews and you will see a pattern. Your staff is rude and very disorganized. It was not hard to find a better service organization
seeing apparently I got started at the bottom of the barrel.

Oh! and let me add that business is no place for vulgar language.

From our original agreement, I've been comfortable that my service will happen on schedule, twice a year and any issues will be taken care of.

I liked that they could provide a contract with a fair price to service my home Generator yearly. They were always professional and would let me know when they are coming and if there were any issues. I would recommend them for sure.

I hired Platz to upgrade my service panels and install a generator. The service team were friendly, respectful and professional. They went out of their way to insure the installation was exactly what I wanted. The Office Staff is kind and helpful too! This was an outstanding experience! Thanks!

2024 Review
We have had them come out and service our generator and they have been on time and very professional. They have made sure we had had no issues and confirmed all work they did. Today we actually had a small issues with our generator while we were with out power.
They showed up on a Sunday with in the time they said they could make it and got us back up and working correctly. Small issue with the air filter, Joe got us fixed right away and got us back up to full power.
2020 - Review
These guys were great. Did great work. Very professional workers and work. Everything completed in one day and total turn key install. All work inspected and pass with out any reworking. Was very happy with the crew that was here and all clean up was done by them as well.
