At a time when so many handymen are unavailable, Hearth and Home scheduled our service efficiently and Adam was prompt and timely. We installed wrought iron balusters in a pattern. He was extremely careful and exacting in his work. Rather than rushing to finish the job, Adam carefully laid out and installed the balusters perfectly. These people are professional and honest. Definitely excellent service providers!

Unfortunately really poor customer service and borderline workmanship. There was a disconnect in communication between dispatch and me as well as dispatch and the worker that came. The initially estimate also was an underestimate of the total work that was agreed upon. They agreed to do 10 or so things at my house and completed just over half of them well and still charged me near the quoted amount. If you’re in a pinch, fine, but don’t expect 4.8 stars.

I have had several experiences with this company. I wanted to like them and support a woman owned business but it has caused me nothing by headaches and messes.

The first time I used them, they were great. They don't have that handyperson working for them any longer. The second time I used them to put up wood doors in my home, I had instructed the installer (handyman Todd T.) to take the doors outside and showed him where the power could connect to under my car port (because it was raining.) Instead of taking the doors outside, he planed them in my basement causing everything in my basement to get coated in sawdust. It was traumatic, honestly. Hearth and Handyman Services offered to pay to have my cleaners come out clean the mess they made. This was the only reason I used them again.

I then used them to hand up some shelves and there were no issues there.

Finally, I decided to use them again this past October, 20224 because there were no issues with the shelves going up. I asked them to come put up a greenhouse I had purchased and build a base for it. They finished the greenhouse, but the installers, again Todd T., did not take the protective coating off the UV panels, see picture below. I had to call Hearth and Home and tell them the protective coating needed to be taken off, and the installer, again Todd T., cut (scored around with a utility knife), the polycarbonate windowpanes, which I only discovered after a windy winter day when the panels came out. Every panel's integrity was damaged because this handyman cut around each panel, and they no longer fit into the slots, because they now bend out.

They charged me a lot of money for this and are refusing to do anything about so now I have to take them to small claims court. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Or at least, buyer beware. Their parent company is Kendall Design Build.

So I used Hearth & Home Handyman Services for the second time in a couple months and they were JUST as great as the first time. I can't say enough about their customer service!!! They are the LOVELIEST, most accommodating people, both in the office and in the field. They will talk through any question or issue you might have and sometimes even recommend you do LESS work because what you were initially thinking isn't necessary. I very much appreciate that they weren't all about doing exactly what I asked just to take my money. I relied on their expertise and they came through IN SPADES.
I love knowing that there's a company out there who is so above board and doesn't feed me a load of horse hockey about how complicated something is going to be or using words that I don't understand just to confuse me. Can't recommend this crew enough! Rachel and Megan are AMAZING as is the handyman, Todd, who actually did the work. Give them a call!!

Todd from H&H was great to work with! Efficient, kind, and explained everything he was doing. My bathroom renovation is looking amazing! The business was nice to work with for scheduling and responsive to questions, and I like that they are a local company that understands the builds of the homes in the area.

Todd did a great job repairing my garbage bin sliding cabinet along with levelling all the cabinet doors. He replaced the bad screws in the hinges and made sure they all worked correctly. He was very professional and very pleasant to talk to. I would certainly recommend Todd and Hearth and Home to all my friends and anyone looking for kitchen cabinet repair.

Hearth and Home Handyman Services was an excellent choice for my project. Adam was prompt, courteous, and detailed during the entire job and the moulding/ trim job he did was better than anything I could have done myself. He got done early even, so the price came in even lower than I expected. During the bidding process Meaghan also emailed me well within good timeframes and I was fully informed through the whole process. I would not hesitate to recommend Hearth and Home to anyone within their service area. Thank you!

They were great! We had a flood on our second floor half bath that leak through the ceiling in our finished basement. Completely destroyed the drywall in the ceiling, walls and doors. They gave fast service, we even did the quote virtually, of course due to Covid but it also saved time. We were in quite a hurry to get the job done and from first contact to completion was 9 days. Adam did a wonderful job, was pleasant, stayed in communication with us and wore a mask which was impressive concerning the type of work being done. I highly recommend them!

We've had the pleasure of working with Adam from Hearth and Home for the past few years, and he's the only handyman we'd entrust with our home! His meticulousness and attention to detail are outstanding, and his honesty and trustworthiness are unparalleled.

Adam is a true master of his craft - willing to tackle virtually any project we need. He has expertise in demolition, carpentry, drywall repairs, painting, and even basic electrical and duct work. His work has helped modernize and repair our '90s home in ways we never could have imagined before discovering Hearth and Home.

Not only is he remarkably skilled, but he's also incredibly kind and considerate, especially towards our two cats. Adam always ensures that his work is left in a safe condition for our pets, and even the outdoor wildlife, which we truly appreciate.

If you're looking for a reliable and skilled handyman, look no further than Adam at Hearth and Home. He's a consummate professional who always goes above and beyond to deliver exceptional results.

A storm caused a large branch to fall on our roof earlier this year. The hole in the roof caused a leak through the drywall in the bedroom, so we had holes in the ceiling for months. We finally got this company to come out to repair it.

Everything was going great until an hour after the tradesman left on the second day he was here. I received an email from the company manager, CFO, and CEO. They claimed the tradesman had observed illegal drug substances in my home. The manager said that he would not be comfortable coming back and they would not allow it. I was told they had photographic evidence and I was threatened with a police report and legal action if I didn’t pay for the work that was done by the end of the day.

I don’t have illegal drug substances in my home. I felt violated because someone took pictures inside my home when I hired them for a repair in my bedroom. I promptly paid for the work that was done because even though I was extremely confused and felt horrible, some of the repair was done. The drywall still needed to be sanded and the ceiling needed to be painted. I was worried that I was being scammed or maybe they confused my house with someone else’s. I spent hours searching my bedroom for what he could have mistaken for drugs. When my partner came home, he stood on the bed frame and saw a palette with makeup powder sitting on my vanity. There was a powder puff and other makeup next to it. I was shocked that I was being accused of having drugs in my home because I left makeup powder on my vanity.

The same day, I sent them a picture of my makeup powder bottle and explained what I assumed had happened, because I wasn’t even sure if this was the cause of the confusion yet. After the weekend, I followed up because I had not received a response yet. Finally, the manager responded, only to double down that it didn’t look like “cosmetic projects” to them and they apologized if there was a “miscommunication”, but they still wouldn’t come back. After numerous back and forth emails, I sent videos of me pouring more powder out, putting the powder puff in, and a zoomed out picture of the vanity so the women I was emailing could understand the context that the repair man apparently could not. After refusing to concede that they could possibly be wrong in a couple more emails, they finally claimed they trusted my story and offered to have someone come back to finish the repair. Why would I invite someone into my home when they could see anything around it and jump to the worst conclusion? No matter what they respond to this review with, the way this was handled was very wrong.

For a woman-owned company, I suggest they hire more tradeswomen so maybe confusing makeup for drugs can be avoided in the future. If you’re going to hire this company, clean up anything that could possibly be misinterpreted as illegal because if not, you could be threatened with a police report, legal action, and left with a half complete repair.

Oh and if you write a negative review, they might add brand new accusations of powder on both nightstands instead of just the makeup powder. Considering this incident happened on the second day he was sanding my ceiling, I assume they are talking about drywall dust. Again, great company.

Some of our siding came off after a storm, and these guys responded to my response right away and got me scheduled. Due to storms and emergencies with other customers, they had to delay our visit but Natalie was wonderful in managing to get someone out to us within a day or two of our scheduled day. They were also good with their price, in addition to their excellent customer service. I would and will recommend this company to anyone who is looking for outdoor repairs.

Had some siding above the roof line that needed fixing. I'm not too crazy about getting on roofs. It was a small job, but none the less they didn't take it any less seriously then perhaps a larger project. Office was very fast getting back with me, I'm speaking to minutes not hours. Quote seemed very reasonable, end of the job it was lower then quoted which was a nice surprise. The gentlemen was prompt, made quick work of the siding repair and was professional. I will definitely have more work for this company in the future.

Tristan from Hearth and Home came out yesterday to paint our front door and install two lights. Tristan explained everything he would be doing and efficiently completed the jobs. We walked around afterwards so I could see the work Tristan had done. He is very nice and friendly. I highly recommend Tristan and Hearth and Home for your home repairs.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The work that was accomplished was well executed, the handyman on site was communicative and pleasant. A single day job was extended for safety concerns and the second visit determined the work couldn't be done. I was charged quite a bit extra for a small amount of work on the second visit that could've been accomplished on day 1 had I known the bulk of remaining work couldn't be handled by this organization. Terrible expectation setting and no customer service when speaking with the office staff. I will never use them again and would warn others against it as well. Shame since the work was high quality but it's just not worth the hassle and frustration.

We had Hearth and Home replace a ceiling fan and secure the fan box. Adam did the work and was professional and highly skilled. Communications from the company were excellent and the price was fair. I would use them again.

Very pleased with our experience with Hearth & Home Handyman Services. They were quick to respond to my inquiry and email me an estimate. They kept me informed regarding our appointment. We needed help with some "Aging in Place" updates for my elderly parents' bathroom. Brendan did a wonderful job. He was professional, courteous and did a great job cleaning up after he finished. He removed the old sliding shower doors, cleaned all the old caulk and residue away and patched the holes in the tile. He installed a handheld shower wand, an additional wall mount for the shower wand, a safety grab bar, and a shower curtain rod. He was also able to haul away and dispose of the old shower doors for us. Overall wonderful experience with Hearth & Home. Thank you so much!!

I used H&H for a kitchen refresh and first time dishwasher install. Normally, I’d piecemeal or use a smaller company/sole contractor, but with the dishwasher and multiple tradespeople needed, it was far too complicated to manage myself. As far as the work done, I am happy. The trades/contractors were great, especially the main contractor, Mark. He was very trustworthy, dog friendly, and personable. I felt very comfortable with him in my home and would work with him again. My only issue and the reason for a dropped star was that I felt like the management side could improve. I felt like management could’ve had better line of sight of the project and communication with the work contractors/trades. I understand they’re a busy company but if you’re paying for project management, you have certain expectations of the communication level. More importantly, AFTER receiving a final bill and close out, a reconciliation was done on my project and it wasn’t until then that they realized they forgot to bill me for countertops, the most expensive part of the materials. This is hefty bill to receive after receiving confirmation that the project is complete and final. I hope they improve their line of sight in future to avoid these types of issues. Otherwise, I was relatively happy with my experience.

Outstanding work! I highly recommend Hearth & Handyman Services. While I enjoy doing many of my own small home remodeling jobs, I've recently been too busy to finish what I started. I tried calling other construction companies and no one would even come out to give me a quote for a small job. Hearth & Handyman Services is a perfect fit for me. The quote process online was very easy with a description of the job and a few uploaded pictures. The work was started in a brief period of time and the craftsmanship was excellent! I'm very pleased with how they helped move my project forward and definitely will be using them again!

The entire team at Hearth & Home went above and beyond my expectations on my utility room remodel. Megan expertly managed the job, all the trades did high quality professional work, and Todd did fantastic work on a small side job I had as well. What really impressed me was the level of communication throughout the project. I've never worked with anyone who answered all my questions so quickly and thoughtfully. This company is now my go-to for everything my home needs. Thank you!
