My encounter with Service Today left me feeling scammed and deeply disappointed. Their representatives consistently misled me with promises of safety, efficient service, and fair pricing. These promises led to outrageously inflated quotes ranging from $16,000 to an astounding $50,000 for repairs that were later deemed unnecessary. As if that wasn't enough, the appointment at my house dragged on endlessly, consuming a ton of time and causing undue stress. What's more alarming is their reliance on deceptive tactics such as discussing "voltage drop" to confuse and overcharge unsuspecting customers. The "voltage drop" / "fire hazard" conversation led me to pay $430 for a house inspection (I am so mad at myself for falling for it - but their congenial nature and fake compassion sold me). I asked for a refund and they refused. Here's the best part, I called them to get a quote to run electricity to a gazebo in my backyard, that's it. It turned into "your house could burn down because of your electrical". If there's one piece of advice I can offer, it's to steer clear of Service Today at all costs. This company's practices are unethical and predatory. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Working with Service Today! is a nightmare. I have never had such a poor experience with HVAC company, to be honest, with any service provider. After the complementary inspection offered, I was convinced to replace my furnace because it had high static pressure (it was working fine) and that could lead to a failure.

The service team couldn't figure out why the static pressure for the new furnace was HIGHER than the previous one. It took 8 visits. At the end, they did so many vents in the basement's ducts to reduce the static pressure, that the unfinished basement is now warm, and the other levels where I actually need heat are colder than before, plus my new furnace spends 20% more gas than the 11 years old that I had before.

I can't believe I fell for that high static pressure story.

As a cherry on the cake, months later I've learned that the installers messed up the wiring on my AC, that needed to be repaired in the summer. Now, Service Today! is giving me the run around to even respond to my request to refund me the money for the AC wiring repair. I've been calling for 4 weeks and never got the promised call back.

Based on my experience, I can't trust the positive reviews.

Was a SHAPE member for a couple of years. Every time they come to your house to do their ‘yearly inspections’ the technicians always find (specifically look super hard) for large jobs that they recommend to be completed. I get that all houses and home owners have upkeep to maintain a house. However, the Service Today staff pressure you into completing the jobs and bag you to give them 5 stars. I had an electrical inspection yesterday, the technician sent off the fire alarms in my whole house. Then told me to have him check the rest of the house (5 other fire alarms) would be $500. It should be their policy to check and make sure the home is safe and not look for ways to make more money. After the electrical inspection was completed there was a surge to my thermostat which shut it off and turned off my furnace. Next day, furnace guy comes and tells me it would be over $200 for him to do a diagnostic. The electrician did something wrong the day before and the company should have owned up to their mistake and instead I got a rude response from the managers (2 of them) and the technician. I cancelled my shape account right away. Over the last 3 years I have spent over $40,000 on repairs. You would think a company that strives itself on customer satisfaction would be more interested in helping people versus only making money.

They offered a “free” follow up to work I did with them last year. I naively trusted that. They spotted a problem that made sense given the previous owner of my house did some crummy DIY work. Had the guy fix it for $400. Yikes.

But then he says he couldn’t fix it at that price. Next thing I know, they are trying to sell me an $8000 repair as the cheapest option. When I balked, I was magically offered a $1000 fix. They also talked crap about work done by another company. When I asked for specifics so I could contact that company, the emergency problems were suddenly not all that urgent.

I agreed to the $1000 repair, but had doubts after the guy left. Had a friend with electrical expertise come look and he confirmed that the work needed was nowhere near an emergency and could be done for far less money.

Oh. And before I even called to schedule, they added the service fee to my credit card. When I called about it and to tell I would not be scheduling, I was told it would take 30 days to get the charge off my card. For a service I had not even scheduled.

I was asked for a review. I left one. Asked to be contacted by a manager. Crickets.

We hired this company to update our electrical panel, install a new water heater and do some general updates to our renovated kitchen. Not only did they do shoddy work that needed to be redone on more than one occasion but they are now refusing to schedule final appointments to finish the work so that we can complete our renovations. Communication with them has been incredibly frustrating, on more than one occasion they have sent technicians to our house without scheduling with us which has resulted in techs showing up to our house on days when no one is home or arriving when we weren't expecting them. At least twice techs have shown up, unannounced, without uniforms on, and were unable to verify their employment when asked, which is a safety concern. It's been four months since they started the project and it has been an uphill battle to get the work done. Between issues with scheduling and techs showing up who have no idea what they were supposed to be working on as well as the exorbitant prices this entire process has been an absolute nightmare. If I could zero stars, I would.

We had an appointment that was missed - called on a Friday - was given a Monday appt and didn't show. Arrived Tuesday and said they thought issue with Acoil but would need $331 to perform a diagnostic. Due to previous issues with the company we scheduled another contractor to review before committing to the work. The line set was completed by Service Today previously and we have had nothing but trouble and loss of refrigerant since. The other contractor was at our house for 10 minutes and diagnosed 2 bad/faulty welds in the line set that Service Today installed and now will not warranty the work. Instead they wanted to have us spend over $300 to diagnose an issue their company created. I would not recommend them for any heating or AC work. Techs are pleasant but might not be experienced and customer service has not been willing to help.

Paid them $15k for home surge protection. Stormed last week everything blew. TYLER came out, told me most damage would not be covered, but some would. I was supposed to hear back from him. Almost a week later, despite repeated calls, no response. Todd and Tyler, shame on you for having Summer, who answers the phone, send me a text message! Booooooo
Update, summer says she's a manager and SHE won't allow me to talk to anyone but her because I berated her ... that's what happens when you don't respond to someone who has paid you $15 for work that wasn't properly completed and resulted in ower surge damage to my house in excess of $10k.
Oooo, tech is here but Summer threatened to send him away when I asked for a written list of what work he was told to do. Hello, it's called documentation!

Just found out they closed!!!! Thank goodness no one else will be taken advantage by them.

Absolutely terrible dishonest company. Left work not completed in my second home. When discovered I spent extensive amounts of time speaking with Jairet Sanders who identified himself as the manager. He accepted responsibility for work not completed and done incorrectly and an agreement was reached with regard to fixing issues even with additional expense from my end. The week the work was to be completed, I received a text message stating “Do (sic) to the complexity of my job” they recommend I seek repairs elsewhere. I had originally hired this company to replicate current ductwork with the addition of one additional intake register and duct connection which was their recommendation. They no longer return phone calls and their office in Brainerd, MN is not open for business. They are attempting to not honor originally contract ( which has been paid in full!) or follow through on corrective agreement. Stay Very very very far away from this organization. Of note, original work crew did not complete work as they were let go from company in the middle of my HVAC repair. Project manager who was organizing second attempt at completion also left company in the middle of the project! A company is in disarray to say the least.
