Constraction reviews in Delano, Minnesota

I had water seeping in my basement from an addition to a neighbors new roof. I called Kolar construction and Jake came out the next day. He sent me my bid within a couple of days and started work the following week.
The workers arrived promptly in the morning. They worked quickly and are very courteous.
They revised the landscaping, added class 5, then black dirt, grass seed, and replanted plants that they had removed prior. Communication was top notch. As this is newly landscaped, it’s rained only once. I investigated and the basements dry!

Jake and team were professional, responsive and did quality work on our basement. We will use them again for a deck and continued house improvements. Honest, hard workers at a fair price - great team!

We worked with Jake and the team at Kolar Construction to renovate our kitchen and main living area. The results were stunning and transformed our home completely. Everyone that was involved in the project was highly engaged, punctual, respectful, and detail oriented.

Kolar Construction came out and replaced our two decks and put up a fence for me.

I really appreciate the work the crew did at our place! Everything looks Fantastic and we are EXTREMELY happy with it!
I knew the fence wasn’t something they typically do. However, WOW! They did an amazing job! It really looks nice!!
The crew did a great job of communicating with me on the deck and fence, which I feel makes them a top notch crew! They cared about what I thought and asked, VERY IMPRESSIVE!
Lastly, I really appreciated how they cleaned up after the job!
I'd 100% recommend Kolar Construction as they care about the customer!

Jake and his team did a phenomenal job on an addition on our home. Throughout the whole process, Jake did a good job setting expectations, work was great, and cost was exactly as quoted. I really liked that a majority of the work was done by his company, as opposed to subcontractors, which made me feel like there was continuity between stages of the project. The project foreman, Mike, was a pleasure and ensured that I was “sure” about the few decisions I had to make. Also, shout out to Chris who noticed I didn’t love how some trim came out and made sure that I understood my options.

There were a few minor changes that came up, but Jake was accommodating and more than fair (e.g., adding on gutters, putting on a storm door, redoing some trim).

Kolar construction continues to deliver great service and has truly smart team members. Not everything fits as it should or parts go missing from products being installed such as bathroom doors or cabinets. They have done some creative substitutions to make everything look great. I recommend them for all types of projects and remodels.

I had the pleasure of working with Jake and his team on a small home improvement project. He came to the house and laid out exactly what needed to be done, was quick to respond with a quote and was terrific with communications throughout the process. On the day work was to begin, he had a professional crew there as expected, again - communicated exactly what they planned to do and completed the work timely and professionally, including a thorough cleanup of the worksite. Would highly recommend them!

Jake and Kolar construction have been our contractor on numerous projects. From start to finish Jake and his team are fast, on time, kind, talented and fair in pricing! Jake is always so helpful to me also for referrals or any small help we may need. So appreciate this company and will continue to hire Jake and team.

Jake was the only contractor to reach back out to me out of the 5 I contacted. I had a ceiling patch job and a bathtub replacement I needed done. Some contractors maybe thought the job wasn't worth it, but Jake was responsive and gave an honest quote. The work was completed to our satisfaction and timely. I will be calling Kolar Construction again!

We absolutely LOVED working with Jake and the Kolar Construction crew! They were very professional and thorough. Wonderful craftsmanship! We have 4 small children and they took time to clean up the job site at the end of each work day. Our 3-season porch and attached deck came out better than we could’ve imagined! Highly recommend Kolar Construction!

We chose Jake Kohler construction because his bin came in at a good price and he lived in Del near us. But what we got was more than we expected. He sent his crew to do all the jobs for us exactly when he said he would. They arrived on time. They did quality work and they cleaned up before they left. I love my new laundry room and would recommend Jake Kolar to anyone.

Jake and his team did a great job renovating our bathroom. We were under a tight timeline to ensure it was done before the holidays and they were able to get it completed with time to spare! We also asked if they could install flooring in a different room while they were there and they were able to get that done as well for a fair price. I would highly recommend Jake and his team to anyone looking for renovations, installs, or remodeling.

We had a great experience with Kolar construction. Jake came out and took a look at the property, listened to what we wanted, and gave us a quote for our deck very quickly.
Once we agreed upon the cost and material selection the Kolar team did a good job letting us know when they could get our job on the schedule, and when the time came they got the job done in a couple of work days.
Everyone on the team was a professional and was respectful of the property. We would definitely work with Kolar again in the future.

Kolar did the LVP flooring and carpet install on our new addition and I am very happy with the outcome. Their work is fantastic and they were very easy to work with.

We ended up having numerous issues with our flooring supplier who incorrectly ordered materials (Kolar sent the correct amounts so this was not their fault). I was very impressed with the communication and commitment to getting the work done. What seemed like a relatively easy two day project turned into multiple trips over 4 weeks as we had to wait on materials to show up. Kolar was extremely prompt in scheduling work as the materials came in so we didn't have to wait any longer than necessary.

Jake's team was good and got the job done. After a long time trying to find the right contractor I was referred to Jake and after meeting him I felt like I was dealing with a professional who could get me what I wanted within the budget I had to work with. Now my 1917 St. Paul home has a functional addition with an entryway I can actually use and a main floor bedroom large enough for a modern setup. Jake was always quick to respond whenever I reached out and kept me up to date on who was coming over and when to work on the house. I would recommend him to anyone needing work done on their home.

We had the pleasure of working with Jake and his crew for our new deck install. Wow, what a great experience, from start to finish! I met with Jake to start the drawing plans, and he got back to me almost immediately with the layout and cost estimate. Jake was great about communicating with me on the timeline for the project as well. The crew did a great job maintaining the area they were working in and made sure when they were done for the day that there wasn't a huge mess laying around. They also didn't mind all the extra eyes watching them constantly! 🤣We are extremely happy with the quality of work and would highly recommend Kolar for any deck plans. Thanks again, Jake and team!!

Jake and his team are awesome. He reboarded our old deck and added new rails and stairs, and then he turned our screened-in porch into a 4-season porch. His team are polite, were always on time and didn't leave any mess. Jake is super responsive - any questions I had, he'd respond to me immediately.

For the screened-in porch, we really didn't know what we wanted, but Jake provided lots of suggestions. He installed a huge sliding glass door and three new windows - it really transformed the room. The quality of work is excellent too - big thanks to Mike who did a lot of the finish work.

Jake's pricing was transparent and very competitive. There were no surprises with the final invoice.

Although we originally found Jake when looking for deck builders, I'd recommend him for any construction work you need. I'll be calling him soon for the next project.
