We had HomeWorks replace our HVAC System and our water heater. They also added a water softener. Not all at the same time. The process was quick and everything was done well.
We signed up for the maintenance service, so they come out and check all of our systems annually. Have had no problems with the system and the warranty requires a regular check up of the system. So win- win. If we need service, we get priority service.
    Would recommend.

Willie D. Was super professional and did a very thorough job going over our heating and cooling system. Took a lot of extra time to really explain everything he was doing and went over all the options for the concern areas. Had detailed photos of what he saw so I could also be well informed. Very knowledgable and customer service oriented. Over all great experience, Home Works is very lucky to have such a great employee!

Thanks Willie and Home Works team!

This review is NOT about the particular technician who came out, but more so the whole experience of HomeWorks.
I was grateful that they had a last-minute appointment when it was very cold out and my furnace started leaking from the pipes. They were able to send someone the next day and he arrived prompt and very polite. But I did not appreciate the scare tactics that I felt like were part of the culture of HomeWorks.

The technician did the inspection and then showed me three different options for fixing the issue. First of all, the issue I was concerned about - the leak - was actually not a problem at all, it is apparently very common when the outside temperature is that low. But he didn't make it obvious to me that it wasn't an issue. Instead he scared me with three other minor things that we should fix immediately. He recommended the most expensive one, of course, which included an $800 electronic filter. He also pushed their monthly maintenance plan for an extra fee.

I ended up going with the cheapest option (which was not cheap at all!) because he AGAIN scared me into thinking that no one else would be available and we had to get it done right now. My furnace is only six years old and didn't need all the maintenance they recommended. But when it's below zero outside and you don't want to freeze, they have you in a bind. And they put pressure on you to decide right then and there—I did not have time to consult anyone else or get other quotes.

Overall, the work seems fine (as far as I can tell) but I would not recommend them to anyone else. They will overcharge for things you don't necessarily need and use scare tactics to get you to act fast.

Jerry was super helpful and informative. He found some issues (from another service provider) and let me know why and how I should follow up with them. He’s very polite and personable- easy to work with. He shared pictures to help explain what was wrong and how it needed to be fixed. No pressure sales! Great service guy!

I am 100% pleased with the service I received from HomeWorks. I ended up purchasing a new furnace and Brian did an excellent job reviewing my options as well as giving sound advice. Jared worked on the air conditioner and identified the problem quickly and replaced the part expeditiously. Both Brian and Jared were very pleasant and courteous. Overall, I couldn’t have had better service.

Adam did a great job of both evaluating all aspects of the water heater and sharing the many options we have. The approach was definitely geared toward our best solutions and he shared more cost effective options in detail. Very trustworthy, concise and thoughtful related to our situation.

    Would highly recommend!

I highly recommend HomeWorks Plumbing Heating & Air to anyone in need of home repairs, preventative measures, or routine maintenance! I needed help in accessing the needs of my elderly mother's home and felt blind on where or how to start.
Jess (and all the other ladies) from the office was very friendly and communicative. Jeremy the technician was more than thorough, patient, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process! Jeremy made sure to educate me on his findings and give me options. He made me feel heard, comfortable, and took time to discuss all options so I felt confident in my decisions. Shout to Anthony who came to assist with installation! I am so glad I found this company and will continue to utilize their services as well as recommend them to others in need!

I am grateful for Joe B! He installed our new furnace with great care. I appreciated his punctuality, is kind demeanor, the way he shared his knowledge with me before, during, and after the installation. I would HIGHLY recommend HomeWorks because of the customer service from Greg, Scott, and Joe in addition to the convenience of the service.

I had to change this review because we had a faulty installation for our furnace. It was set up incorrectly with the wrong fan speed. Additionally, there was large gaps that allowed for air to flow around our A-coil. This issue wasn’t revealed until 3 months later when we tried to use our AC. it causes condensation to collect then freeze and we had no AC. We called to have them look at it and the first person tried to say it was a dirty air filter but in reality that was not the issue. The fan speed was corrected but we still had an issue with the AC. We called for service again and the second person came to look it and blamed a dirty AC unit (of note it was brand new). Additionally, this inexperienced tech left our AC running consistently for 2 days until another tech came out. The third tech was able to identify the real issue of the faulty installation but we had to wait 2 more days for someone to come and fix it. this last person was much more experienced and was able to fix the faulty installation.

I hope the issue is finally resolved but only time will tell. Be careful with a deal that is too good to be true. The customer service by the techs was absolutely abhorrent. I hope they get some additional training for their techs because our experience was unacceptable.

Adam did a fantastic job. He worked exceptionally hard and saved us money where he could. He was friendly and professional. We highly recommend him.
Adam came back to install our shower faucets and we were thrilled. It looks great and very inviting. We can’t wait to use it. Adam exceeded our expectations. This time Stephen did a great job. He was timely and efficient. Thanks you guys.
Had a water leak in the bathroom and Mason came out quickly and worked hard to diagnose it. We were very happy with his friendly and helpful service.

Home Works have sent wrongly the Technician Jerry Soung to my home on Sep 9 Wednesday. He told me that my gas velvet and heat exchanger were bad and required to change the new one. Instead of changing those, it is better to invest in buying a new furnace, he persuaded. Then, their technician Peter Perry was sent to explain what kind of furnaces I can choose to. It was also a bad representation. Peter's explanation pushed me drastically to purchase the furnaces no matter what the other reasons I have. Both Jerry and Peter are required to be trained to do as professionals.

I reported my issues to my father via Messenger. He asked me to request another service. Actually, it works out!. My dad was genuinely right. The real problem was Flame Sensor, Burners, and Align. It was NOT the issue regarding gas valves and heat exchanger. In fact, the gas valvet was switched off! I didn't even notice it! The other technician from the other service showed me out! Jerry is supported to let me know if the gas valvet was really shut off. It seems like he didn't know it (or) maybe he switched off intentionally! It is NOT his fault. It is the fault of someone who gets him to work for HomeWorks and manages schedules who to send. Now, my furnace's maintenance costs around $800 and get back to a normal running condition! The other inappropriate behavior these guys did was the placement of the advertisement board on my lawn without my notice. I have attached that signboard on this comment as well. I was surprised how that signboard was on my lawn. This was beyond the boundary - cross the line.

Their services manager tried to connect with me for follow-up. However, I was so frustrated and upset. I don't wanna discuss with them anymore because my impression and trust on them is gone. When you are in my place, you would probably do the same way as I do.

As the result, do NOT contact HomeWorks to do your project and repairs your furnace, water heaters and everything! Their leadership and management have cracks and weakness. Also, they are trying to make money only without providing nice services. If you follow whatever they said, you would have to pay unnecessarily! Your precious money and time will be a lot waste!

Deceptive Trade Practices and Refusal to submit a Warranty Claim to Carrier. We give HOMEWORKS A NEGATIVE 5 REVIEW!
In June 2022, our furnace started leaking water and the AC stopped working. Matt from HOMEWORKS replaced the blower motor & control panel and charged us $3,252. He also said the outside AC Carrier unit was low on pressure and gave us an estimate of $1,257 for that work. We asked him to submit a warranty claim because our furnace was under a Carrier 5-year warranty. He said another dept. was in charge of submitting warranty claims. The furnace leaked again the next day. Matt came and said the tray under the AC coils was cracked and gave us an estimate of $4k to replace the AC coils & suggested that we buy a new system. We declined to have HOMEWORKS do any additional work.
A KB Service tech came the next day. He said the reason the AC stopped working earlier was because the blower motor failed, which caused ice to build up on the AC coils; ice melted and dripped onto the blower motor. He said the furnace filter (which was less than a week old) was bent and the blower speed was set to 1700cfm, when it should have been set at 1200cfm. He fixed the blower speed and said the water leaked because the high fan speed caused water to spray off of the AC coils rather than dripping into the tray below the AC coils. He said there was nothing wrong with the AC coils or tray. The KB tech also checked the outside AC unit and said it was just fine. The KB bill was $300.
We sent HOMEWORKS a notice of cancellation of the invoice for $3,252 and a notice of cancellation of the $14 monthly charge for their service plan.
Despite our requests to HOMEWORKS to submit a warranty claim to Carrier HOMEWORKS has refused. The only reason given for their refusal was because the parts were wet. That is an excuse. I talked to Barb with the Warranty dept. at Carrier. She said that HOMEWORKS was an authorized Carrier dealer & should have submitted a warranty claim & that we could not submit a warranty claim. She said the work needed to be performed by a licensed tech with factory parts. Likely, HOMEWORKS failed to follow proper protocol & did not use factory parts or a licensed tech for the work. If HOMEWORKS had informed us that they would not submit a warranty claim, we would not have had them do any work at all. This is deceptive trade practices, designed to collect as much money as possible from us, the consumer. HOMEWORKS also tried to trick us into unnecessary expensive repairs or replacement of our furnace and AC unit that was less than 5 years old. HOMEWORKS has offered to refund the $300 paid to KB, which is not acceptable.

Homeworks installed a new A/C, furnace, and water heater into my house in 2018 and did not do so properly. After moving into this house I had Homeworks come for an A/C and furnace tune-up and they found no issues (and should have).

A slow water leak from the A/C coils has been occuring for years and has finally reached the point where it's rotted through my subfloor and leaked onto the floor below (see photos). The drywall around all sides is also completely rotted. Another HVAC company came and immediately noticed the shoddy install. The ducts were also not properly sealed and a huge amount of air was leaking out into the utility room.

Homeworks also left the blower speed at default, which is too high for a 2-ton condenser on a 1400 sq. ft. townhome. That contributed to a coil freeze and the increasing water leak over time on my system.

On top of that they didn't use proper B-venting for the furnace or water heater install, in violation of city code.

Fixing all of this is going to cost me over $5000.

    I do not recommend Homeworks!

The past review is below but I wanted to say thank you to Scott for getting back to me and making things right. I will consider the matter resolved.

{Called to get a quote for a water heater replacement. Got a quote for $2800 basic 40gal gas and $7000 super Eco 50gal. Eco one will save tons of money over time. I told the plumber that I really wanted to get a few more quotes before I made a choice.
After I said this the price dropped $377 final price still over $6000, when I said I would wait the plumber made a call to his manager. I was offered an extra $500 off, and a guarantee that they would beat my 2nd choice. The manager claimed that he use to work at the other company so he knew there prices. I accepted even when I had 2 other quotes lined up.

After the new unit was installed I noticed that it was leaking. Lucky the 2nd plumber was still in the parking lot so that was fixed. They also didn't clean up after the install I had to vacuum and clean the floor due to shoe dirt.

After noticing that I did not get the 2nd discount I called the home works number to try to talk to somebody. The lady on the phone said due to it being Sunday she could only make notes the next person higher up, and later got a call back from a 2nd person (works for home works) said that she would make a note, but she was also unable to help me and would have a manager call me the next day. After 2 days of phone tag I come to understand that this company has all calls go to a call center.

Day 2 I hear back from the other company (They gave a quote over email) for $2500 less. At this point I call the number and ask to undo the work for a refund. 1st I was unhappy that I never got the 2nd discount, and 2nd now I found out I over paid.

In the contract it says you have 3 business days to request a refund. I sent the email on the 2nd day so I have a documented request of it happening. Even with the 20% restock fee I would save money with the other company.
Once again I get no where with the call center, but they make a note of it. At this point I request an email of all the info that this call center has taken, she says that she can't do that. After that I send an email including all the info exchanged in the calls. She responds to that email that shes has also included the emails to her on going notes.
It has now been 2 weeks now with no call back from a manager or anyone. I also sent an email 2 days ago about asking if any progress has happened. At this point I call the call center every few days to check if I can talk with someone and they always say sorry and that someone will get back to me.
So here I am now making a review. I'm not to happy that typing this up has dredged up the memory of this but it is what is it is.

    So I guess the summary is that yes the final work will be done well, but you might have some problems with communications. I would recommend to avoid this company.}

I have posted the exact same content below for my Yelp of HomeWorks. I suspect they are manipulating their Google reviews. See the terrible Yelp rating. I also received a postcard from HomeWorks thanking me for my google review BEFORE I left one! I think these 5-star reviews are fake.

I contacted HomeWorks and two other plumbing companies for an estimate for several plumbing projects. I had no experience with the company and didn't know anyone who did. The estimator made a big deal about putting on his shoe protectors when I said he didn't have to. He said, "Oh, we HAVE to wear them." Everything was focused on how much they cared about their customers and took care of the customers' homes as if they were their own. Then he proceeded to quote me $12,000 for my projects. Other well-rated, reputable plumbing companies' estimates were less than 10% of that (less than $1200). Really? Just how dumb do you think I am? Today, I was flushing my water heater and noticed that he'd slapped a sticker on my water heater that says, DO NOT REMOVE and has their number on it to call for maintenance. We never even hired these people. They want 10 times the amount I should have paid. I guess they have to charge more for their expensive marketing campaigns and vehicle wraps. Sorry, your marketing budget is not my problem.

The estimator also turned the heat down on the water heater to the mininum setting. Hmmm. Maybe he was hoping I'd call them to say it's not working without bothering to check it? Beware if you're female and/or have what appears to be an expensive house. Also, I can't believe the difference between their Yelp rating and their Google Reviews. Something seriously hokey going on with the Google reviews. Shysters.

Well I'm sure they know what's going on but when you charge the little old lady 500 + dollars and the explanation is some faulty part and then it still doesn't work only due to its dirty thanks for the easy call not the first or last time I'm sure I'm going to get called out for a second opinion and then try to hard sell her on a maintenance plan come on you can do better tried to give there service manager a professional call to help mentor but here we are someone doesn't care or you know when you want to just sweep it under the rug?hopefully leadership will understand and work this out this is not how a professional hvac company works #hvaclife

HomeWorks sent Adam out to replace our bathtub faucet. We were notified when he was on his way. He was on time and friendly. He explained the cost up front (ouch!) and what it included. Upon completing he cleaned up everything, “shined up” our new faucet and showed us how to operate it. Before he left he explained the warranty and said to call HomeWorks with any questions.

Our Goldendoodle wanted to go home with him and that’s the true testament!

    Top notch plumber and company.

In March 2020, I called HomeWorks to inspect my furnace. Eric arrived and was great. We purchased a new magnetic air filter and joined their membership program, which essentially cost us zero when we factored in the cost savings given to us on the air filter as a member. I had no idea how much that membership would pay off. Fast forward to Monday, November 30th and our hot water heater had leaked water everywhere; I didn’t have a clue how to fix it. I called HomeWorks that morning and they sent Michael, a master plumber, out to our home before noon THE SAME DAY. Michael was knowledgeable and immediately diagnosed the problem, gave us a solution and an all in price (which included getting the attached pipes/ducting up to code) that was more than fair. The new water heater arrived and he installed it. He left Adam to clean up and get the furnace started. Now Adam was an apprentice or as his trainer called it, “in potty training”. When I asked him a couple of questions, he admitted he didn’t know the answers rather than make something up. By 6pm, he was still at the house as he couldn’t lite the furnace so Josh, a different master plumber, came over to help. Josh ended up replacing the burner and the furnace lit. On Wednesday, I had no hot water, so I called HomeWorks and the same day, they sent Josh again. He saw that the pilot light was out and without wasting any time, he decided to replace the water heater rather than attempt another repair. Adam was being “potty trained” so I jokingly told him not to mess on my floors as he assisted; everyone got a good laugh. Within a short time, the new water heater was installed and we again had hot water. That evening, my wife noticed a small pool of water had collected on the floor. She looked up and found that some corroded pipes which were down the line from the water heater were leaking. I called HomeWorks that night and by 7:45am, Josh and Adam arrived and replaced the copper pipes at no charge. While many might look at this situation as a cluster, I am extremely impressed at a couple of things. First, the response time and proactive communication from HomeWorks. They were at my home in less than 24 hours and texted me when the plumber was on their way. Second, Adam and Josh’s expertise, realism and sense of humor. They didn’t try to upsell me, they were factual in their evaluation and Josh never complained once about having to come back multiple times. Third, I paid only to replace the water heater. Most plumbers charge just to visit and I had a master plumber visit my home 4x at no cost to me. This is a great organization and I’m extremely grateful they have my back!

Homework’s was very easy to work with. Quick estimates. Installation was next day. The office kept me up to date on who was coming to do the work and when they would be there. We liked them so much we had them replace our second air conditioner 6 months after we replaced the first.

Not a fan of this company. Had someone come today to take a look at the T&P valve and he replace it made the leaking even worse. Called, beeline plumbing and was able to save over $600 dollars for a new replacement of my heat water pump. Homework’s Heating and Air was quoting me close to 2k to do a full replacement trying to excessively overcharge us). Never doing business with this company again. They’re always sketchy, sadly this isn’t the first time my family and I have had problems with them too.
