We have worked with many arborists, but our experience with Savatree was definitely the best by far. We had a very old, large tree in our yard, and we had concerns about safety of the tree. We met with Austin who thoughtfully and carefully considered possibilities for saving versus removing the tree. He also arranged for another arborist affiliated with their company to further assess. We did end up removing the tree as there was no safe alternative. Having all of our questions and concerns addressed prior to removal made everything run very smoothly from our perspective. The communication was excellent. Highly recommend their services.

I got an e-mail from Sav-A-Tree asking for feedback. If it was favorable, I was to post it on Google. Otherwise I was to send them a note so they could address my issue. Since I wasn’t fully satisfied, I contacted them via e-mail explaining the issues I had. I still have not heard from them three weeks later. So I’m posting my unfavorable remarks here in hopes that it prompts action.

Positives - the crew was skilled and worked safely. They left my yard and roof perfectly clean.. I was impressed.

Negatives - The crew did not complete the agreed-on scope of work. The work order stated to clear my flagpole and trim away from my neighbor’s garage roof. One large branch still hangs over my neighbor’s roof and I have limbs close enough to my flagpole to entangle the flag.

I prepaid with a credit card to get a discount. I suppose I could try to claw back a portion of the fee via the credit card company, but I’d rather that the work be completed per the contract.

UPDATE: A crew from SavATree came out this morning and made everything right - no charge.

A friend noticed that we had what he thought to be Emerald Ash Bore infestation. We contacted Sav-A-Tree and their arborist, Austin, was out within 2 days to make a diagnosis. Unfortunately our trees were too far gone to save. Austin sent us a quote and we scheduled removal. Weather caused a few delays, but Austin kept us apprised every step of the way.

The crew arrived as planned. They removed a tree in the back yard that was leaning and would damage the house. The crew was efficient and professional. They cleaned up all the cuttings and left the area in great condition. I highly recommend them.

We had a tree we loved that our backyard deck was built around. Unfortunately it became diseased and was no longer safe. SaveATree removed the tree, which required a large crane in the street in front of our house, and carried the tree parts over our house and into a truck. Their cleanup was perfect! I asked that the tree would be cut off at 26” from our deck surface so that it could mount a table onto the stump so that we would still have a little remembrance of our beloved tree. Outstanding service!!! Extremely hard working crew, Conner,Isaac and Milo, who were courteous and very respectful to us and our property. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with SavATree. They have been professional, efficient and to the point. We feel as though they truly care about our experience and our property. We recently had six very large and mature trees pruned around our home and the results are wonderful. We had to wait some time due to a hold up from Xcel Energy but the whole process was managed for us by Austin and the team. They navigated that process amazingly. We also had one large tree removed that had succumbed to Two-Line Chestnut Borer. Austin made a great plan and the team removed the tree efficiently and safely. It was like watching a symphony. They took measure to protect our lawn and home and we were very impressed with their attention to detail. We have also had SavATree take care of our lawn care for the last two years and our grass has never looked better. They must be using magic because the change has been unbelievable. Do not hesitate to reach out to SavATree and let them take care of your entire yard. You will not be disappointed. Different company bailed on me day of scheduled removal for a 40 foot ash tree, gave Phil here at SavATree a call that same day and he was able to get a crew out to my house the very next day, extremely easy to work with and great customer service. Great pricing all around great job done it was clean and looked great when I got home from work, 100% recommend.

The team that came to my property were very courteous and professional. The work they did was top notch. Their prices were reasonable and fair compared to other quotes in the area. I would recommend the Hopkins branch to everyone. Thanks a bunch guys!

The arborist we had, Philip Mix was great and dealt with Xcel energy to get some trimming around the power wires done when they wouldn't really respond to me. Much better experience than with the guy from last year, who claimed to want to help but didn't seem to do much.

We have used SavATree at a previous home & we’re very happy with their work. So when we needed some things done we called them again. Courtney, a certified arborist came to our house and gave us a price on removing a 14 ft arborvitae & stump. Also showed her another one that’s not doing so well. Showed us that it has “scale”. A very small insect damaging the tree. Josh and Aden came out and cut down the tree, dug out the stump, trimmed another tree and cleaned up perfectly. They both worked very hard, were very friendly, and helpful. Courtney was great helping us set up some treatment plans for the scale and tree fertilization. We appreciate her knowledge, friendliness, and professionalism. We heartily recommend the Hopkins office of SavATree!

Crew arrived at scheduled time and checked in with us to walk through what needed to be done. Was pleased to see they wore the appropriate safety gear and worked both efficiently and safely. Clean up was excellent. Some of the work was relatively straightforward, but other of it was quite challenging. Before leaving, they walked us through to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Would definitely use them again.

We enjoyed working with Austin and his crew. The trees on our property being removed affected a commercial property close by.
Austin coordinated the work needing to be done with the property manager and us. We were continually informed when the crew would arrive and the timing was perfect for all concerned.
The quality of work was outstanding. After the job was completed the site was cleaned of all debris.

SavATree did great work for us! Austin came out for a consultation and proved to be very knowledgeable about several tree species, providing us with excellent guidance regarding tree trimming at a fair price. I respect the fact that they are skilled arborists whose primary concerns are safety of their very capable crews and the preservation of healthy tree growth. They did such a terrific job trimming an overgrown mulberry tree, that we’re having them come out again for a silver maple’s limb over our roof. We give SavATree our highest recommendation.

Our request was to prune a front yard tree where branches were not hitting the house. In our mind, pruning is removing limbs to accomplish a goal and leave a balanced profile for the tree. While the 4-5 limbs touching the house were removed, the tree still looks shabby (not clean and balanced). The crew spent 5 minutes working and the charge was exhorbitantly high for that 5 minutes of work. We were not informed about a $500 minimum trip fee. We do not recommend this company.

We used SavATree for the first time in late August as who we used previously was not available. Due to storms in the Twin Cites, they ended up not being able to get out as quickly as we were hoping. However, when they did come out, we were very impressed with the crew of Jordan, Josh and Eric.
Those three worked hard and were very conscientious in the work they were doing. We’re hoping we’ll be good to go for two or three years now.

When it seemed like no one could help me after a portion of the biggest tree in my neighborhood (estimated at 35,000 lbs.) fell onto my roof, Phil, w SavATree, was able to put together an expedited timeline coordinating a crane, a road closure, and de-energization of the power line in front of the house w Xcel. Really made me feel well cared for. Great customer care from both Phil and SavATree office!

Can't say enough good things about Arborist Austin assisting us in creating a plan for our 70 year old healthy silver maple who laid down a large limb on our roof! The timely response, proposal, and execution was amazing. Today's crew of four worked together seamlessly and left our yard immaculate after removing the limb and cabling four limbs.
