We had Platinum Finishes hang drywall, mud/tape, and paint our basement. The team did an amazing job and we are very happy with the finished product! The quality is wonderful, they finished in a very timely manner, and did a great job cleaning up! Hadyn coordinated everything for us and his customer service and communication was top notch! Very responsive and helpful during the entire process. We will definitely recommend Platinum Finishes to anyone looking for drywall and painting!

The crew did a great job. We had a lot of patch work to do because of electrical and plumbing updates, but it all blended seamlessly in. The walls and ceilings look great.

Platinum Finishes took our basement from the studs to a beautifully painted room. As people who have hung drywall and done our fair share of painting, it’s fairly obvious why you pay a professional. 😂 The speed was astounding without compromising quality. We know the imperfections they were working with under the drywall, and you would never guess. The walls look smooth. The painting work is high-quality. We had an excellent experience with Platinum Finishes. I had Hadyn over to give me quote on retaping our basement ceilings because the tape had loose edges due to too much flex in the ceiling. He suggested an overlay of the ceilings with 1/2" drywall, reapply knockdown, and finish with paint. This should fix the problem for good. The new ceilings look wonderful. They were timely in completing the project. They took great care to protect the flooring and cabinets. I won't hesitate to use Platinum Finishes in the future.

We hired Platinum Finishes for a full interior paint project. Despite their online reviews, our experience was extremely disappointing.

From the beginning there were visible finish issues — inconsistent sheen in hallways, poor patching, missed areas around doors, and ceiling joints visible under normal lighting. Several punch list items required repeated follow-up.

Platinum even had a Sherwin-Williams representative come out to inspect the work. The rep confirmed the issues were workmanship related, not a paint product problem.

Months later, we are now seeing patch failure and peeling paint, especially near the refrigerator area — clear signs that surface prep and patching were not done properly.

More concerning, during the project their crew dumped paint thinner down our bathroom sink, which damaged the drain. This is unsafe, improper disposal, and resulted in additional repairs we now have to deal with.

Rather than taking responsibility, Platinum provided a “closeout agreement” attempting to reframe legitimate defects as misunderstandings or scope exclusions. Communication became defensive instead of solution-focused (including an inappropriate email bringing religion into the conversation instead of addressing the work).

We weren’t looking for perfection — just professional preparation, consistent finish, durable results, and basic respect for our home. That’s not what we received.

If you’re considering Platinum Finishes, especially for larger or detail-sensitive projects, ask detailed questions about prep standards, patching methods, disposal practices, and warranty coverage before signing.

The team was there when they said they would be. Good to work done quickly. Just be sure to put away lawn ornaments before they start the job.

Home Star was great. They showed up on time and were very friendly. They were efficient, but didn’t rush through the job. I have confidence in my new roof. The best part was they cleaned up after themselves and made sure I was pleased before they left. Highly recommend!!!

When Home Star stepped in, they fought with the insurance company on our behalf and went above and beyond to get EVERYTHING 100% approved and 2 days before Thanksgiving! Homestar Roofing recently replaced our roof. Very smooth process from beginning to end from initial inspection with pictures to final cleanup. We were kept up to date throughout the roof replacement process which also included pictures. The whole team was very professional and the whole job was completed in the timeline we were given. The boards on the front of our home were rotted and needed replacing. Homestar came out within a week, finished the job within a day. Reasonable price. Job looks great and house is back to normal. Excellent experience! Definitely recommend

All I can say is WOW. Summer has been rainy here in Minnesota and we found a bad leak during a terrible storm and Home Star came out immediately to help stop the problem before it got worse. What’s better yet is while waiting before the work to get done two more nasty storms hit us and the tarps stayed in place and didn’t allow any water in. quick response fast work! Highly recommend

We had a job to do on a major time crunch. I called Home Star Roofing and they were out in like an hour, on my roof, completing the job, on a WEEKEND. If that isn't quick service, I don't know what is. They did a phenomenal job, exactly what was needed. Recommend!!!

Homestar MN was amazing and top notch classy service from start to finish. I spoke with Donnie initially who owns the company and came out and actually climbed on my roof himself to inspect. There was enough damage to warrant a claim which they walked me through in first class style (holding my hand along the way). They met with my adjustor and made thr whole process smooth and quick. Our roof is larger and we wanted to make sure the job was done right. Their crew was extremely clean, had the cleanest, nicest tools I have ever seen grom a roofing crew, all the updated techology, and extremely clean and respectful. Below are some pictures they actually took of my roof with a drone before, during and after. How amazing is that? And what a clean symmetric job they did! The best part of their service in my opinion was an additional custom gutter they added for me above my garage to correct a previous rainwater drainage issue that was prematurely wearing down my old shingles. I felt like this was a level that they did not need to got to bu they did! The company owners came out and measured and designed a custom gutter for this situation, and very inexpensive also! I havr had 4 roofs throughout the years on previous houses, and Donnie and HomeStar roofing and siding MN were by FAR the best! They made thr whole process very clear, understandable and easy. Additionally they simply did the best work!
