Easy to use, but busy. Bring Hi-vis. Tell the scale attendant it's your first time, so he'll give you some guidance. He's not there to make friends or get your business. He's doing a lot at once, so be polite and expect him to be brief.

Charge way to much to take junk and cardboard 160 a ton and the scales off

First time going here to dump off some wood baseboards and other wood materials, got in and out with no issues. The guy at the scale was nice, gave me instructions on where to dump it. Would come back here again!

First time going there today and there were no signs up saying where to go so it was a little confusing. Weigh station guy thinks he’s way more superior than anyone else and makes unnecessary comments. The place itself was nice and I had no issues once I was done with the weigh station guy.

I live in South Minneapolis and needed to get rid of some lawn waste bags outside the season when the city will collect them. This place is closer to me than driving out to Burnsville.

Pull into the yard and immediately go left. There’s a trailer next to some scales. Someone may be parked in front of the sign that identifies this as the place to go. Pull up along the right side of the trailer, on the scale, next to/below the window. Someone will help you and take payment.

My truck bed full of 10 lawn bags was about 34 dollars. That could change but it’s definitely not worth it for just a few bags. Save up and get whatever you can as the rate is per cubic yard (estimated) and a fixed dump fee.

I’m giving Malcolm Transfer Station two stars because I love this place. This is what I like:

The location is perfectly centered in the city.

It’s really easy to back into the huge doors.

The price is fair. Especially considering that I don’t have to drive out to some godforsaken suburb to dump my debris.

The yard guys are helpful. If the stuff is frozen in the trailer they will give it an excavator enema. They also honk to communicate. I like simple commands.

If you forget your safety vest they will loan one to you.

Anyway, I love and use this business frequently and I do not want homeowners using it and complaining about how hard it is their first time there. I don’t want to wait in line while they learn how to back their rig to the pile. Just stay away and let us garbage pile cowboys work in peace.

Emotionally, five stars. Tactically, two stars. Just go somewhere else.
