We contracted NRD after visiting the Home and Garden show at the convention center. We got a few quotes from other landscapers but ultimately went with NRD because they were willing to give us a 3-D rendering to help us visualize the project which gave us comfort that we were on the same page.

The craftsmanship and the attention to detail the crew displayed was fantastic. We live in a new housing development and have become accustomed to sloppy tradesmen. To our surprise, this team was respectful, efficient, and did a really good job each night cleaning up to not leave a mess behind on the road, driveway, yard, etc. The project was delayed 6 weeks longer than we expected but the end result was exactly what we were looking for. Also, prior to our project starting, communication was a little slow, but when our project started we got the full attention we needed.

The last day of the project, the team did a fantastic job repairing the sod and spent a lot of time grading the damage and making sure the sod repair was seamless. We were also warned ahead of time that they couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be damage to our irrigation system, however to our surprise there was no repairs needed. Most of the digging was done by hand and on 2 occasions they were able to avoid damage to the irrigation because of spotting the lines while digging. It was a happy surprise to not have to pay any money for irrigation repair.

Working with NRD was a great experience! We love the landscaping design that Tim created and the results transformed our front and backyard. The bluestone patio they installed is gorgeous. Tim skillfully listened to what we were wanting in our project and was responsive and professional with creative ideas and solutions. I highly recommend NRD and Tim for your landscaping project. We are delighted with the results!

We researched and met with a few contractors for our patio project and chose NRD. We loved working with Cori Johnson and the NRD team. We had a timeline to get the patio completed to host a bridal shower last July, for our daughter and Cori and the NRD team met the timeline. We are really looking forward to getting to use the patio for the entire season as the Spring weather is improving. Tim and NRD was awesome from the initial contact to the end of my outdoor patio project. I was looking for a design that worked with my 1958 one level walkout home, and the end result exceeded my expectations. These folks are FAST - 2 days and they installed a water management system in our yard, removed our well, built a rock retention wall, and planted new grass seed. Would definitely recommend them. With the crew is working as hard as they do, it’s understandable that communication can be touch and go.

People that know me know I give accurate reviews and have more than a few "helpful" posts on TripAdvisor. We recently bought a beautiful home in SW Plymouth Mn - that is except for the disaster of a patio and back yard. The patio was a huge assembly of loose blue slate with sand between it that was always a mess. We had the idea for adding a water feature, a gas fire pit, and more of a solid patio surface. We went to many home and garden shows and met with a few "contractors" but none seemed to grasp what we wanted to accomplish or their bids were not complete. So I remembered L&R had done a beautiful block retaining wall for me 20+ years ago at my previous residence and I was encouraged that they were still in business. Ron not only understood that we were going for a Four Seasons feel he presented a very detailed blueprint of the complete job. We green lighted the project and they have been a class act from the start. Any little change I made was implemented almost immediately. They finished the bulk of the project just before winter but were back this spring to make adjustments and handle the very few blue tape items. They did such an outstanding job my neighbor hired them on the spot. A friend of mine, against my strong recommendation hired a different firm to build a similar project and has had nothing but problems. Ron is a very hands on project manager/owner and his crew was neat, courteous and friendly. His back office coordinator Layla is responsive and professional. You can look high and low but never find the quality and craftsmanship this firm provides.

This is hands down the best landscaping company in MN. We looked through a handful of reviews and sites until we found L&R. We called and Ron came out to discuss our needs for outdoor steps in our yard. Ron knew exactly what we had envisioned. Ron, Layla and their team went above and beyond to keep us updated on our project timeline.
The crew showed up earlier than expected and got right to work. In two days, we now have the most beautifully landscaped, granite steps leading up from the street to our yard. (The crew was so polite and really cleaned up nicely after the work, including adding seed to the yard where the bobcat went and watering for us). Not only are the steps functional, they really make our yard pop. We have had neighbors and family stop to compliment the new addition. We could not be happier or more proud of the work L&R has done for us.
From start to finish, we are thrilled!!! We will absolutely be back for our next Patio and landscaping wants. L&R has us for lifelong clients!!!

We are very satisfied with the landscaping project work we had completed by L&R suburban landscaping. They built both a front and backyard bluestone patio for us, as well as a stone retaining wall under our deck and steps along the side. The team was incredibly organized, responsive, and efficient. A very well run company. We have worked with different contractors for various projects over the years and this has been one of the best experiences. Highly recommend!

Great Goats did a phenomenal job on my retaining wall! Mike came out and checked out my existing wall and determined what the problem was that caused it to fail. He determined that I did not have the proper drainage and that is why it failed. He and his guys were very professional and completed everything on time and the cleanup was tremendous. While Great Goats is not the cheapest out there when it comes to retaining walls, they definitely are the best choice in the Twin Cities.
