I'm sorry if you are a resident of the City of Saint Paul and have them as your garbage company.

TIP: They do not put dates on their invoices, so if they are saying you are past due, and you mailed your check, I'm sure you're fine because I swear they send out late notices before it's *actually* late.

TIP 2: If you really need to contact them, allow for 30+ minutes of hold time. I have never once completed a phone call with them on my break.
TIP 2A: If you are given the option, you can have them call you back; HOWEVER, there is a chance they will not return your call. This has also happened to me.

TIP 3: There is always email correspondence as well. I have had my questions answered via email, but given their track record, you must be diligent and follow up.

SINCE IT IS NOT YOUR CHOICE WHO YOUR PROVIDER IS, I'm glad I can at least share my experiences with you. I would have hired another company immediately because they can't even grasp basic billing and or customer service.

*Note* My actual garbage man seems very nice and pleasant*

It’s expensive and not always reliable with pick ups but they have yard waste and recycling

Do not do business with this company. They failed to pick my trash up for 3 weeks. I called to informed them that our stop was missed for the past 3 weeks now. Customer service was rude and interrupted me several times during the complaint call. I told them since they failed to pick up our trash, we have extra bags laying around and that those needed to be picked up as well. The customer service representative stated that she will put a note in those have the extra bags picked up and for us not to worry about it. The following day, I checked outside and I see they picked up our bin but still have not picked up the extra bags. I called again to complain and before I can even start talking, I get cut off with the "it's not our fault" blabber. The representative told me that since I had too many extra bags they were going to charge me per bag. I responded with no and canceled my contract with them. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER.

Purchased a home in Saint Paul and lived there for 2 years from 2019 to 2021. Not once did we receive a initial bill of charges, every bill had a 5% late charge. Only comment we got from customer service is they send them out in a timely manner, but we had no way of proving that. Even our neighbors told us it’s just a large scam. I wish I could say I moved because of this company, but it was a relief leaving them.

2024: I still thinks about this companies dishonesty every now and then.

Absolutely terrible customer service. We moved 4 months ago and have been trying to cancel our account for the past 4 months. The dumpster is still at our old rental, new tenants are using it on our bill because Advanced disposal cannot figure out how to cancel our account and pick it up! They continue to send us bills even after our endless phone calls (seriously we have called no less than 15 times!) and even a letter we wrote and sent to them. The guys who drive the trucks are great, but the office is extremely unorganized and terrible to work with.

I had a great experience here. Everyone was so friendly. The cashier person was great, a guy helped me lift something heavy, and another guy driving a machine even stopped to ask if I need water/ I got rid of 600lbs of stuff for about $30--which I think is reasonable. Be prepared for the possibility of bad smells and dust, depending on the day and weather.

Very shady business practices. I canceled service because their prices keep increasing at each 3 month billing period for the past 2 years. When I canceled I was told nothing about a "cart pickup fee" so then 2 months later I was charged 60 some dollars for picking up the cart. I was on the phone multiple times trying to get this removed, I was told it was being removed and then never was. When I called back to see about the refund I was told I was getting, I was told their employee who told me it was going to be refunded was incorrect and they would issue no refund. Do Not Use Advanced Disposal, they're a waste of time and money when there are definitely better companies out there with better, less expensive service.

Be careful if you drop off waste at the transfer station. Rates are not disclosed in advance and they charge by weight. They will only tell you the cost after you drop material. Construction debris is $134 per ton. For perspective I dropped the concrete from just 16 fence posts and got slapped with $130 charge. It would have been $20 to recycle that concrete at Fra-Dor in Arden Hills.

When it came time for me to move, they charged me $25 per container (that's $50 between waste and recycling) to pick up my bins upon cancellation of my account. When I expressed that I never consented to this at the start of my service, the guy on the phone became rude and basically said "Well, sir, nobody's ever been happy to pay the $50 for us to pick up the containers." What happened to delighting the customer? Seems like picking up your containers should be a cost of doing business, not a reason to shaft your customers on the way out the door.

The lady on the call who helped me was extremely helpful! Understanding and kind too. My trash was missed and she had them come back to pick it up right away. I wish all customer service had someone like her.

WM charged me 6 months worth of fee when I properly terminated my service just because they had my card on file. I tried to talk to them to get my money back and the company is just too big to handle my issue properly. If you have a choice please do NOT do business with this company. And olso their drivers will charge you extra bag fee if a pice trash kept you bib lid open just because the lid was not properly closed.

So far, so good. Service has been good. Prompt and without any issues. At least where I live, this neighborhood. I hope it all stays this way! These days, everything is pretty upside down! I'd settle for just "good and normal".

Over the last winter, our trash was not picked up on several occasions due to the "weather" however our alley is/was plowed every snow storm and we have no unsafe alley "conditions". All other trash service companies picked up in the same alley the same weeks... Anyways, so after the winter months, our trash continued to be missed or not picked up even tho the bill was paid. In April I had enough and canceled their services.

I have had their garbage container in my alley in the correct position for over three months and I have called every week asking when they would be picking up their container. For weeks, I have been promised they would be coming, and every week it still sits. I have called and requested to speak to the manager and she won't return my calls. She won't resolve the issue. The staff just takes my number and passes on the message. I am beyond livid at this point. I received a bill for the last three months of service, which was canceled and the container is still full of trash from APRIL.

I just have reached a point where I just don't even know what I can do any more. They won't work with me or take care of the problem and ignore multiple requests.

About 2 months ago or longer, our garbage cart was damaged. Several garbage drivers did not report the damaged garbage cart. About 1 month ago, I needed new garbage because it was damaged. Between the City of St. Paul & Waste Management, I felt that I was “forgotten.” Someone did not talk to each other. After that I had to send another email to the city, As far as I am concerned both parties did not do any follow-up correspondence(s). Before this event, I was starting to give Waste Management some respect. I am not quite sure.

Great price but near impossible to get a person to answer, reply to an email or call back. Also the container that was dropped off was so rusted that my facilities manager had to grab tools just to force open the door.

I switched to WM years ago after being treated very poorly by Tennis (both customer service and a pickup tech that liked to get out of his truck and dump/spread my garage across my driveway!). When WM heard my 'story', they lowered the rates to where I could afford to make the change, and have been taking great care of me ever since! Their trucks do not smell awful and dump rotten juice along the road like Tennis trucks do, and with kind, conscientious drivers, they always leave a clean pickup site. I am proud to say, several of my neighbors and community members are also making the switch!

Exceptional customer service and friendly representative who explained everything in detail. I thought the price for the size of the container was very affordable and really liked how easy it was to set up service. Excellent professional and courteous rep! Thank you Saint Paul for hiring the best people.

18.9% fee for waste water!!! Honestly disappointed, super overpriced demo. $139.36 a ton is insane!

WM has been providing us with good service for several years.

I love WM their drivers are courteous and friendly and their customer service is knowledgeable, friendly, and they quickly resolve concerns that I have. Good quality service, good value for my money, very responsive and very on time - regular schedule is apparent! They have been my hauler for 17 years!

Not worth the expense; they have picked up our garbage on time 4 times in the last 6 months. Delays can be up to a week, but you only get notices one day at a time so you have to leave your cans out the whole time. Often they pick up in the afternoon, so you can’t even pull them back up in the morning and out in the evening. They do offer yard waste containers, as long as you don’t actually care how punctual they are. That’s the only reason they got 2 stars.
