We had a great experience working with Boehm to install a new boiler and do some repairs to the piping system. They were patient and helpful, helped us work through the issues we were having, and helped us understand all of the steps throughout entire process. We've told others about how amazing they were to work with and have nothing but great things to say about them!

Boehm installed our mini splits in our home and did a great job on a big, complicated system. We chose to work with them because they were much more affordable than other local companies and they had knowledge and experience working in our home for decades before we had purchased it. They were very polite and great to work with, were respectful of our kids and animals, were efficient and on-time, and cleaned up after themselves.

I've used Boehm twice and had really good experiences both times. Several years ago, the valve on one of my radiators was old, corroded, and started leaking. The guy came out, had to cut away some of the piping to remove the corrosion, inserted new piping, and a new valve, before he left, he asked to use the bathroom. On his way out he noted that the valve handle in the bathroom was gone (my new puppy liked it as a chew toy). He asked if I wanted him to replace it, and then he did, and charged me nothing extra for it.

Recently, my boiler was running intermittently.. Standard Heating had installed it, so I called them. Big mistake (see my recent 1-star review of them, I recommend you stay very far away from them). They charged me $942 and the boiler still wasn't working properly after they left (would just stop working unless I turned it off and then back on again). After a couple of weeks of dealing with this, and talking to Standard, I called Boehm. Brian came out the next day, diagnosed the problem, replaced an $85 part, and re-did part of what Standard said they'd done, all for less than $300 (parts included) and now my furnace works perfectly again. Brian even gave me the extra time after I paid him to go through how I should maintain the boiler every fall before turning it on for the winter season. I highly recommend Boehm, and Brian was really great.

I highly recommend this company. They are friendly, reliable, knowledgeable, easy to work with and have competitive pricing. I have used their services for over 20 years and have been very happy.

After Boehm's service, we were freezing, worst than before! They would not come back again to check out the problem without another service call and charge us again, even though their first charge was already very high. We did not have confidence in them and certainly would not want to pay them again for inferior work! We called another company instead. The technician found the problem. Boehm did not do it right! We finally have comfortable heating back!

I emailed Boehm after hours for a non-urgent hot water boiler repair in my home. The scheduler called me the next morning and a service tech was at my house within a few hours the same day. I was impressed by their responsiveness and overall quality at a good value. I would definitely call them again!

We selected Boehm to install AC mini-split system in our 1940 era home in June of 2022. The 2 reasons we chose them were that they had the best price, and we liked best their plan for where the units would be placed in the home. Within a week after the installation was complete, it stopped cooling.

Here is where they earned our recommendation. They came out the day we called, Friday, identified there was a leak, charged the system until they could return after the weekend to fix the leak. The leak was fixed within a few hours and we have been cool ever since.

Neither Boehm nor us want to be in a situation where a new $13,000 system doesn't work. But we found out how responsive they are when you need their help.

2 final points, If you like to work with family owned, local businesses like we do, Boehm is the epitome, during installation, Jeff, his father and his uncle were onsite, along with a few other technicians. One criticism I have is they can do better at pro-active communication. I found I would be the one to call to find out when installation was scheduled or when they would arrive for service.

All things considered, we are very satisfied and think you will be too.

We got our split units installed in late 2015 by Boehm. Had an issue with one yesterday and called them, fully expecting to have to make an appointment and pay for a service call. The woman on the phone talked me through a fix I could perform myself, then stayed on the phone with me until the fix was complete — all for no charge. All of my interactions with the folks at Boehm have been straightforward and honest, and I've found them to be great problem solvers. Thank you, good people of Boehm! I’m very impressed.

Jeff and his team did a great job providing us with detailed information about a new AC system that would replace our old condenser and be integrated with our existing air handler, including a detailed proposal with options, and an estimate before the work. The work was done professionally, promptly, and with no mess. The condenser is quiet, and the cooling is really effective. I would not hesitate to recommend Boehm.

Boehm installed a new boiler a year ago and the experience was flawless. This week they installed a new chimney liner. They arrived on time, used top quality materials, did an outstanding job, cleaned up completely and their price was reasonable. In addition we got to spend time with Jeff Boehm who is a really nice guy. Can’t imagine anyone could do a better job.

One of our radiator valves was leaking, and I called Boehm towards the end of the workday. Shannon and Jim were very helpful and looked at a photo and gave me some ideas for how to manage it overnight, and they sent a tech out the next morning right before a cold snap. Mike was incredibly helpful, respectful, and answered all of our questions about how the system worked, fixing the valve quickly and professionally. We have a much better understanding of how things work now. He then checked all our radiators to make sure things were running smoothly. We trust Boehm with our heating system and would recommend them to anybody!

I have relied on them multiple times during the time of year when you need heat!! Received a new furnace and Tom even gave me free furnace filters since mine were too thick for the new, more powerful furnace. Everyone is very knowledgeable and professional. Love supporting local businesses with history!

Edit: Jeff Boehm personally stopped by today (the very next day after the service) after reading this review. He apologized for the poor experience without throwing anyone under the bus. He offered some additional services and best practices as well. Went a long way with me and again, proves that Boehm is the best out there. Updating this review to 5 stars. Had Jay come over today who certainly wasn’t directly rude but was definitely something other than friendly. Did not introduce himself, asked no questions, seemed in hurry or bothered to be here, and gave short answers - mostly about what he wasn’t there to do. I’ve had some great experiences with Boehm (especially with the owner/his family), but unfortunately today was not one of them. At a cost of $169, the annual boiler tuneup service doesn’t really seem worth it as the ONLY thing Jay did (other than make us uncomfortable with his unfriendly demeanor) was bleed the radiators. He told me he doesn’t oil the boiler motor even though they have ever other time I’ve had this service from Boehm. Really feels almost like I got robbed today. Boehm can be so much better than this.

We moved into an old St. Paul home and had Boehm out to look at some heating and AC issues we had; it turns out that Boehm has done work in this house for decades and recognized the utilities in the basement. They are honest, salt of the earth people who take the time to make sure the job is done well, the materials are appropriate, and we are educated about the process. We will use Boehm for all our AC/heating needs as long as we live here.

We had Boehm Heating replace our boiler which Boehm Heating installed in 1980 for the previous owner of our house. Boehm Heating has performed excellent regular maintenance on our boiler many times since 1989. After 45 years, it was time for a new boiler.

They provided a detailed, honest estimate for new Well MacClain boiler. His crew arrived on time, very respectful, professional. They are highly knowledgeable with respect to building code compliance and boiler / hot water heat systems which can be a challenge for a 93 year old house. They gave us a walk thru of the boiler and new controls, explained what we need to check in the Fall for the heating season, etc.

I highly recommend Boehm Heating.

I actually didn't use Boehm for servicing my house, but after my interactions with them, I can only imagine they'll be fantastic. I had water leaking under my furnace and had checked the ac condenser drain, all seemed fine. I wasn't sure what to do, so I called Boehm. They answered and were ready to send someone out, but talked me through a couple of troubleshooting ideas. They booked a tech to come out the next day if the troubleshooting didn't work. The next day, my issue was gone, and I called back to cancel - they were more than happy to help me over the phone which I did not expect!

Boehm put in my mini split and also did a tune-up on my boiler. I wouldn't trust anyone else! They are honest, personable, professional, and have reasonable prices.

After getting several bids for replacing my 50 year old boiler I went with Boehm for the following reasons:
1. Family owned since 1945. The owner Jeff Boehm, came to my house to look at the job and make the bid. We had a good discussion on systems and options. His knowledge on heating systems spans a lifetime and is extensive to say the least.
2. His bid was competitive.
3. Boehm customized the installation to my request adding stubs and valves for a planned third heating zone and a boiler-fired water heater.
4. The workmen, Chris and Nick, were highly skilled, completed the big job within a day, and made all the additions I asked for.
5. Boehm’s reputation in the twin cities is renowned.

The final bill matched the bid.

This is a most calm competent place I've had the pleasure to deal with here in Saint Paul. When my ancient boiler failed about 5 years ago, they replaced the whole system in less the 18 hours. In winter.
Just now they sent a tech who did a "pre-winter" check for less than $200. Including carbon monoxide test, water pressure check, thermo check, replace leaking relief valve, drain and clean system +++
I like Boehm.
