Adam and Steve did an absolutely amazing job on our floors in Maplewood. From day one, they were easy to communicate with, gave expert recommendations as to how to take care of the new floors. They also walked us through why they were doing specific things in order to help our floors look the best and last longer. We will be using them again on our next renovation!

We've done floors in three different homes in different cities over the years so feel like we're pretty good judges. Adam runs a tight program. In our case, he put up plastic to keep dust to a minimum, and in fact achieved zero dust anywhere else in the home. He cut and installed a new bull nose stair tread for us too. All the work is top notch, he communicates well on scheduling, process, and if there's any changes in timing -- his, and ours. And an all around good guy. We couldn't be happier.

I had an excellent experience with great Woods hardwoods. After 30 years my floors needed a lot of attention. There were lots of scratches and pet stains. Now the floors look like brand new and I couldn't be more pleased. Communication was great and Adam is very knowledgeable about the process and products. He suggested adding quarter round to blend the new darker stain with the existing baseboards. Taped off the rooms and there was no dust. He even offered to return and move this enormous buffet. I would highly recommend this company!

Genuine, honest, and hard-working are three words I would use to describe Great Woods Hardwood Flooring. Adam was fantastic from start to finish, with great communication throughout the entire process. Even after the project was completed, he was available to answer any questions I had. Despite an unexpected electrical issue, he worked extremely hard to ensure the project was completed on time. Adam is extremely knowledgeable and transparent. He is happy to share his knowledge about wood, the process, and the aftercare. I couldn't be happier with the results! I was lucky to get help from Great Woods refinishing an oak floor in a bathroom that had "footprints" from an old pedestal sink and toilet. Adam did a superb job and was a pleasure to work with- He explained the process which played out exactly how he described it, finished the job in a timely manner and was able to refinish the floor seamlessly. I expected to see a transition from our hallway floor into the newly refinished bathroom floor but he was able to match the older finish. We highly recommend Great Woods!

Overwhelming pleased with our new floor! Recently bought this home and we were going to replace the LVT with a new LVT that matched our style. After searching for the "right one" we determined we dislike the look and feel of plastic. Looking for alternatives we found Great Woods. Adam came out and sold us with his passion for wood and wood flooring. He followed that up with attention to detail during the install and finishing. Adam and Steve at Great Woods are fantastic! We own a 110 year old house with original maple floors throughout. When we originally bought the house, the floors were in pretty bad shape. Adam came with a very reasonable quote and told us he could get everything sanded and refinished before we even moved in.

The work took a few days, but by the time they were finished both the main level and upstairs of the home had sparkling newly finished floors! The finish was beautiful and really captured the authenticity of the wood. He even did custom work at the top of our stairwell where the wood had rotted out, went around and custom made wooden vents for our heating system, and re-engineered areas where old heating system vents had still showed. The end result was breathtaking and exactly what we were hoping for.

It’s rare to find a company who takes their time on details and really listens the needs of the house - and Great Woods delivered on all accounts! I would highly recommend them for their care and attention to detail. I’ll never go with another hardwood company. We’ve actually hired them twice now on two different projects. Give these guys a call and you’ll be happy you did!

I would highly recommend Adam for your hardwood flooring needs. We had purchased a new home and intended to refinish the main floor hardwood maple floors and consulted with Adam. He pointed out a number of concerns that he had with existing install issues that would prevent a high-quality results on a refinishing job. Not the feedback I was hoping for but I appreciated his honesty and integrity for turning down the job. We decided to have Adam install new hardwood floors and we were extremely happy with his work ethic, fair pricing and his attention to quality and detail. We are very happy with our new floors - an excellent investment and improvement to our home!

Adam did a fantastic job on our floors. He installed/finished new hardwood flooring on our second floor, and then refinished the existing flooring on our main level. The flooring on our main level had beveled edges (it was factory prefinished flooring). He completely sanded out all the beveled edges for a perfectly smooth finish. The end result showed a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Not only that, but throughout the process, he had excellent transparency and communication. He was always eager to answer any questions. We will definitely hire him again for any future flooring needs.

Adam is hands down the call you should make if you need anything hardwood floor related. I called to get a quote to have some prefabricated wood floors (that were in rough shape) refinished. I called Great Woods Hardwood Flooring and I’m sure glad I did. Adam showed up and went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. He fit up into his schedule quickly and did a TOP NOTCH job in a less than ideal situation. Adam is very thorough through every step of the process, from keeping us informed every step of the process to explaining all our options. Couldn’t recommend him and this company more! The final outcome turned out way better than we could have ever expected and we are just blown away by how great he was to work with and how great of a job he did. Adam was great to work with and did a fantastic job on our floors! He came through for us in a time crunch. We were moving into a new house and was able to get the job done over Thanksgiving week. He does amazing work for a fair price. He knew that we were new home owners and was very helpful and communicative throughout the process and put us at ease, advising on things that we could do to save money. I am a contractor who renovated homes and have used Greatwoods Hardwood Flooring on every project I’ve done. They are the best! Their craftsmanship is second to none, and the finished product is impeccable!! We had them install a 5” white oak floor at our personal residence and the floors were perfect and still looked brand new and beautiful when we sold the home several years later. They installed beautiful red oak hardwood floors, sanded and finished them.

The floor exceeded our expectations, and the service was great as well. We stayed in touch by text and they even finished the job on a Saturday and then came back Monday to move appliances back in.

Adam was great to work with. Super friendly and honest. Was fixing up our very old house and he talked me through exactly what he thought was best for the wood and not just recommending what was most expensive or easiest for him. Floors turned out beautiful and he went the extra mile fixing base shoe and other damaged areas like doorway thresholds along the way. Had a great experience. Adam is the best. His quality of work are care for the craft are unmatched. He was able to give me great advice and thoughts over the phone before seeing the floor (there was carpet over wood) and when we peeled it off, we were delighted! His commitment to excellence is amazing and he took care to stay late to work on the floors so that I could get in quickly. Adam did an incredible job on our floors! He was fully transparent and communicative throughout the process, very fair with pricing, went above and beyond to fit us into his packed schedule, and the work is absolutely gorgeous. Our vintage house is very quirky and he needed to be creative to frame out our fireplace, which is not square. It looks incredible! We could not be happier. Bonus: he detected a small gas leak in our house that we hadn’t noticed! He’s a true craftsman and I would give him more than five stars if I could!
