David S came this morning to perform my annual furnace check. He is a knowledgeable, courteous young man. As he was performing the maintenance he discovered, what could have been, a dangerous issue. He was able to skillfully correct the problem. David is definitely an asset to First Mate, and the customers he serves.

Excellent timely service. They showed up when they said they would, kept me informed of where they were at. They were able to diagnose the issue quickly and discuss next steps. In my case, it will be a warranty replacement from the manufacturer, nothing that could be fixed, has to be replaced. Priced very affordable. Thank you!

David S was our technician today and provided all the insight we needed on how our water heater was doing along with offering a look at our furnace. He was prompt and explained everything in a way that let us know how to be best proactive with future service. A+

I had my maintenance done today by Abby F and as always she was very efficient in checking the system outside and inside. I would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a trustworthy company to install and maintenance of a heating and cooling system. They are all very helpful whenever I have questions or need my system checked.

First Mate has great technicians that are fast, professional, and respectable. They’ve helped me out a few times for my old furnace and been able to get it up and running quickly. They will be my first option anytime I have an issue!

My furnace went out during the snow storm and I was gonna try and brave it out but I caved and called in a professional around 8 pm. I’m glad I did! David came out to me in Holden despite the weather and fixed my igniter very quickly. He even showed me the part that went bad so I know what exactly happened. I’m a first time homeowner so navigating these things is very stressful but it didn’t feel stressful at all when he came and saved the day for me and my cats. It all came out to around ~$300 for the fix, which I think is pretty good considering I expecting to pay way more and maybe even my future firstborn compared to other companies I called for a quote.

Justin was very helpful and efficient. I called with a potential emergency before a very cold spell, and he was fixing my issue within 2 hours! Justin was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I would recommend First Mate to anyone needing prompt, reliable and pleasant service. Ashley in the office is fantastic too! Tez performed my furnace maintenance and inspection. He was courteous, personable, and very knowledgeable. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. Previous companies I’ve have used for furnace. Inspections didn’t do half the task that he did, including checking for carbon monoxide leaks. I highly recommend First Mate Heating and Cooling and asking for Tez to perform your furnace and AC inspections.

As has been since I first started using them, when they were 72 degrees, the technicians are always friendly, honest, and no BS, today was no exception. Kevin came in and inspected the furnace and a/c told me what was needing serviced, but it wasn’t an immediate necessity, and will email me the recommendations and pricing. Never any pressure with these guys. Highly recommend!

First Mate came out to our place to take a look at our furnace. We ended up needing a new blower motor and opted to have the unit cleaned. By the time they were done the interior of the furnace was spotless!

Abby was patient while helping us and clearly answered the questions we had. We would definitely use First Mate again and would recommend Abby as a technician to anyone!

Had the company come out to check my HVAC system for a dirty smell coming through the vents. Tech came out, drilled a hole through the metal panel (without asking me first!) to look at my pristinely clean coils, and removed my slightly dirty air filter, but didn’t tell me he removed it. Turned the air back on with no filter in the system. I signed up for the annual membership before I realized just how poorly I was treated. Luis didn’t looking in my vents, nor look in the attic. Just drilled a hole into my system, removed the filter and turned the air back on. Horrible

We had an electrical issue that needed to be addressed immediately. Called a handful of local companies with no luck of same day service. Lee’s Summit Heating & Cooling responded immediately to the urgent need of repair. Explained the issue thoroughly and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Dave was an exceptional service technician. Troubleshooter ignition failure on newly installed unit plus fixed the dehumidifier and test fired furnaces. Really appreciate him doing that prior to winter. He went above and beyond for the service call.
