Electrical reviews in Springfield, Missouri
-
I had a sales rep come to my house and estimate what I needed to get in February of 2022. She was very pleasant and very informative. I bought 14 solar panels and attic insulation. March of 2022 the attic was insulated. June of 2022 my solar panels were installed. It is now February of 2023 and my solar panels are still not active. I need my electric meter to be swapped to accommodate my new solar panels. When I contacted the company several times, no one could give me an answer as to when it would be done. They only kept saying it was on backorder. After threatening them with a lawyer, I was told that they would not answer anymore of my phone calls and. That the project was estimated to take another 56 WEEKS! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SALES COMPANY "DESIGN ONE GROUP"

Stopped by That Solar Company LLC hoping to resolve an issue, but was asked to leave the office. Their customer service is nonexistent. It’s a shame to see a local business, which employs local people, operate this poorly. I can’t recommend them.

I've had my solar panels up since the heat of the summer. They are not in use because it's not been able to pass inspection since day one. I can't get them to answer the phone or to return my calls. It is now the 8th day of January. I call repeatedly no answer, and they do not return my phone calls

WE ahve not been able to see our solar production for 7 months now and no one will call us back or come out and fix the issue. Solar way under performs what we were told it would produce by sales rep and we still pay a $100 or more depending on the season. Really look around and get a lot different pricing on solar. Also do not do it just for tax incentives because you could potentially buy panels and pay someone to install it for 10th of the cost. Which would be more valuable then tax incentives.

While I can say things have been a little rocky during the install and operation of my system, it wasn't because of the install crew. I bought an old hunting lodge in the middle of nowhere and have an ageing electrical system. Scott, who sold me the system, has been nothing but absolutely helpful, even when the problem wasn't caused by the company. On the 4th of July, I lost power, my main breaker on the pole had been overloading for the past couple of weeks and no one was able to figure out why. On the 4th, the power went out, and Scott was the only one I was able to get ahold of, not even an emergency electrical service would answer the phone, but he did. He helped me get my power back on, and shut off the solar, so any power surge didn't ruin my system. As the owner of E4M Gunsmithing & Restorations LLC, I work out of my house, and they have done everything to ensure that everything was working in the system they installed, and then went above and beyond to help me diagnose my electrical problems. When I get my shop built, I am calling them again. When my kids get their own houses, I am calling them again. I will only use That Solar Company for my solar needs from this point on. The crews they send out are only hired contractors and should not necessarily represent the company, the rep themselves. Oh, and I can not forget Mrs. Hutchins, she has been amazing at keep up with and responding to my emails quickly and kindly as possible. You couldn't ask for a better company rep. If she doesn't have the answer on hand, she will find you the right one. Thank you so much.

We started this process the beginning of March '23, The first contact with the company once we got through the sales process was with Hailee on 3/6/23. She was and continues to be great and is always willing to answer questions. She kept us fully informed along the way. I was surprised that the initial contact said it could take 4-6 months for the process but stuck with it. Well we didn't have to wait that long. The system was designed, approved, and running by 4/17/23. I want to also give a huge shout out to my installers: Shane O Neil, Thomas Stubblefield and Kelton McLanahan with Quest Solar. They had the system installed and verified in one day. We had one inverter that wasnt reporting properly after the system was actually switch on and I called in. I was really suprised the following day while awaiting a call back to discuss the issue when Andrew rings my doorbell to check on the system and discuss any other concerns I had. Mind you we are over 6 hrs from That Solar Company. We haven't had another issue since then. The first full month bill 5/2-6/1/23 was $13.32. Same time last year was $178.72 before Evergy prices increased yet again. We are extremely happy with the experience and would recommend this company to anyone looking at installing Solar.

That Solar Company has been an excellent partner from start to finish on our solar project. We installed 25 panels for a 10kW capacity system. That Solar Company's bid design was the most well-thought out and best price. Hailee's communication through the project phases was excellent. Surveying, design and permitting takes time, but we always knew where we were at and all HOA, City and Ameren permits were granted on first attempt. Installation was quick and flawless... the system already survived a couple of storms that took down trees in the area. Today, on the third day of operation, we have blue skies and an excellent output baseline. 100% successful project. Thanks again to everyone at That Solar Company!
Update February 2024: we are still beyond happy with our photovoltaic system. I want to shout out Hailee for her super fast support! I casually emailed her what to do for tax season, and she came through with a copy of the contract, tax form, and instructions right away. Thanks so much for the continued support! -
Well it took about a 6 months to get the solar panels but when they were installed they did a great job. But im really impressed with Joshua Buntin and his electrical crew they did a great job, everything looked straight and professional. Great job to both crew job well done. But I gave 4 stars due to how long it took to get batteries and how the salesmen wasn't fully honest about things. Just a heads up and it might be different in your area but you do not get dollar for dollar back from electric company. It's like .007 cents on the dollar here. Something to think about when installing but it's all installed looks great and hopefully the saving start to come in.

We bought a very large system from this company, and they took forever to install. We bought it in November of 2022, and it was finally installed in May of 2023 after several fiascos where they failed to have the panels delivered even though the workers showed up, and the electric company wasn't scheduled and everyone had to go home (to name a few). They refused to acknowledge their mistakes and constantly lied about it. Then during our first month of service, we had 20 micro converters go out. And do you think we got them fixed right away? No, we're still waiting 2 weeks later. They haven't volunteered to expedite or compensate us. We're just on a list somewhere.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
We bought our system, in cash, a year ago. Zennernet subcontracted the work out to this totally incompetent company. Since the install we have had issues. 1. They tried to install the system on the house when we asked it be placed on the garage. They damaged our house and our garage taking off what they started to install. 2. We had a power outage over the summer and found out they NEVER installed the battery backup we paid over $10K for. We have no backup with our system and since the issue, we have been unable to get anyone to come out and add the battery backup. We are not filing complaints at this point because the owner will not work with us to get our system up and running. He has given us the runaround. -
First and foremost, let me start with DONT. This company cannot be trusted. Let me explain. First, they do not do what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it. When the order was originally placed, they kept changing the dates, meaning I had to keep changing the dates I was taking off work. The plan where the panels would go was laid out, two of their installer showed up and began drilling holes on the wrong side of the house which they had to repair, and one was fired because he was smoking pot on the job. The job finally got finished 7 days after it was supposed to be completed. Years later, there was a hail storm that damaged 3 panels but the insurance company wanted to replace all the shingles on the roof meaning all the solar panels would need to come off. At the time the house was under contract to sell, so I reached out to that solar company to arrange to have the panels removed and reinstalled with the 3 replacement panels. That solar company told me they would be able to come out in 1 week to do the work, but could never commit on getting the replacement panels. Then That solar company submitted an estimate of $10,000 to remove the and reinstall the panels and another $1200 to replace the 3 broken panels. They kept promising they were going to get me on the schedule all the while Im trying to close on the house. I finally reached out to another company that was local, and get this, this new company came out the next day, and had the panels off in a day, and the new company charged me $8500 to R and R the old panels and that included replacing the 3 broken panels. 3 days later when the shingles had been replaced this new company came back and reinstalled the old and replacement panels in a day and offered the cover any issues with the panels they reinstalled plus the new ones. While they were removing panels they discovered what a terrible job That solar company had done attaching the panels to the house in fact leaving some of the panel brackets broken on the roof. I saw it with own eyes. Then That Solar Company sent me an email a month and half later letting me know they had tried to schedule the install a week ago, a month and a half after they said they would get it done, and found out I had gone with another company and they were cancelling the warranty. WHO CARES, I WOULDN'T WANT THEM ON MY ROOF UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. They tried to take advantage of a situation and who knows who they would be sending out. Lastly and for good measure, That Solar Company sent out a bonus card, to anyone that sent business their way to have panels installed and got them installed would be paid $1000. I sold installs to two different neighbours, one that financed and one that paid cash, and when I went to collect, That solar company said they didnt count. I would not trust this company under any circumstances.

Beware of sales tactics,
When we were sold the solar system we were told after installation we would have two months of solar production so as to offset the electric bill from the utility company. This has not been the case. Installation ran over allotted time and currently I am on month two of paying two bills one for my panels and one to the electric company. Which totals $1000.00 a month between the two. Save yourself the trouble and just avoid the headache all together and wait till the government has better regulations in place. Right now these companies just change their names every year with no punishment for their bad business practices.
The only reason I gave three stars is it is still early and waiting to see if my panels will reduce my electric bill. So far I don’t have much faith it will. -
We have had our solar for almost 2 years. On Jan 3nd we received a notification that our solar panels weren't working at full capacity. My husband, Eric Fudge, called and the lady said it's showing low levels and by Monday it should work itself out, but she will put an order in for service will probably be a few weeks til someone can come out, and that she would call him back, and never did call back. On Jan 10th another email came in which he read on Jan 12th was stating that the solar hasn't been working since the end of Dec. After 10 days when Eric made his initial call and never heard back he started to call which went unanswered. He continued to call and left a message until the lady would answer. Finally she answered on Jan 14th with this response " I'm not going to just answer your phone number when you keep calling, especially since you were crude and cursed, stop calling and someone will be out in a couple of weeks." With all do respect to the lady there I know for a fact Eric didn't swear and made it a point to be kind knowing anger never solves anything. Maybe she made a mistake and it was someone else, but after seeing other reviews this is not an uncommon behavior to not answer certain phone numbers.
This company was great to work with at the beginning, everything was installed great no complaints at all with that. However, if something does occur (which probably eventually will) you may experience the opposite in customer service.I highly recommend for anyone shopping around to make sure you ask about services after the solar is installed what their protocol is. We will now have a solar bill plus an electric bill, and only have the answer of "it will be a couple of weeks". We are also not allowed to call back and even if Eric does it will not be answered. If she tries to respond saying Eric was rude I ask you to go to his FB page, Eric Fudge you will see he lives his life for Jesus, knowing Jesus shows kindness even in hard situations.
Again, this is not a slam but an honest review and needs to be known to anyone dealing with this company. -
Awful experience. Had them look at my system for a diagnosis. I was told it was a 150 diagnosis fee by two different people at the company. After the appointment I was told it was 300 for the visit with a travel fee and the diagnosis fee. Not transparent with pricing and would not explain or provide explanation only blamed me for not understanding.

If anything, you could always look up BBB website and turn in this company for fraud. Write them your concern and if enough people turn them in for there miss communication then they can lose there bbb ratings all together. BBB is the Better Business Bureau. These companies don't think we are serious. The only way this company can make this right us take the solar back and take the loan away. It's simply a waste. It done nothing.

This photo is a lie! Screen shot of the words of the owner! You will not get energy independence. They was suppose to check out the electric company before selling Solar to customers. That is what great companies do. It's Fraudulent! I was promised what this owner wrote! Energy independence. Bare minimum electric bill. But nope, I have the same amount electric bill! If you want a company that lies, Here you go.

This company almost gave me ulcers. Poor communicators, unresponsive to calls and messages. In the end they were in breach of our agreement, the solar panels were not even wired and connected properly. Installed for 4.5 months, finally had another company come and finish their job to get all working.

I don’t even know where to begin. During installation we had contractors installing our system smoking marijuana in our yard, using language that was extremely unprofessional where my two young children could hear. When they had to enter my attic, they didn’t even use a ladder, instead they used our metal folding chair and we had mud from their boots all over our walls.
It took months for the installation to be completed. Having to use my PTO at work so I could be home when they would schedule work at our home just to have them arrive and inform me they didn’t bring the right materials and would have to schedule another visit.
In our contract we where supposed to receive a generator that we still haven’t received. A year later and I’m still being told I’m first on the list to receive one.
The system does work however we are not getting the energy the sales representative told us we would be getting. We save some money on our electricity bill but with the cost of the financing we are losing money on this deal. -
To start, the salesman lied about the tax refund. Even after stating what my plan would be to get the amount paid down. He insisted we would get $20,000 back. We got $6,000. Supposed to be able to claim it multiple years. This year we got nothing. I had to threaten to cancel the install if they didn’t get it done. They were on it quick then. Now I have been trying to get a panel that blew off months ago fixed. Took me many attempts to get someone to answer the phone. They said they were trying to find a panel. A panel company can’t find a panel? It’s been 2 months and again no returned calls and nobody answers the phones. Don’t do it!!!!

The whole process worked very well, overall. The design, site inspect, utility approval, install and system activation all great. The system is performing well. Overproduced my needs all but one month so far.

If zero stars was available that's where I would be. This company has been a huge pain to work with. Constant schedule changes initially, callbacks trying to get yard (it'll be just like we were never here) repaired (never happened). This was in 2023. Now, can't even get a return phone call. I'm sure they are tired of hearing from us, but I will continue to try as I have no choice. System is not working - and this is only 21 months after install. I would recommend finding a different installation company.
Reply to Owner Response: I did speak with your office 3/6 after leaving 6 messages and spoke to Hailey at 4:25. Yes, service on site service is needed and on 3/6 it was a 2-3 week timeline. When you are without and have been since October (no, we didn't report it earlier because our sales rep told us our electric would be higher in Dec and Jan. We didn't call until March bill was also over $350) 2-3 weeks seems like a long wait. We're anxiously awaiting a notification call. Thank you.
