Got a referral for this company from a business in our complex. Called and asked if they could come out and give a bid. Was told it was too far to drive to give the bid or do the work. Even though they had just completed a job in our building the week or so before.

What can I say? Schaeffer Electric is a top notch quality company. I bought this house in Feb 2012. I had them install a new 100 amp box. Previous installer did not do the job according to code. Schaeffer also brought the outside outlet up to code.

Since then I have had them come back and replace all basement incandescent lighting with T-8 fluorescent fixtures. They also replaced one T-12 upstairs in a bedroom with a T8 using drop down panels. They also replaced one T-12 fixture in another bedroom with a new ceiling panel (drop down ceiling) and installed a ceiling light fixture. They also replaced the ceiling T-12 with a new T8 using drop down panels.

The crew that showed up, no matter who it was, were always on time, courteous and cleaned up when they were done. I cannot say enough about the quality of this company. Any future electrical needs that I have will not be competed. Instead I will just call Schaeffer. They are that good.

Prior to retirement my background was in government purchasing and dealing with contractors. This is a top-notch company.

These people are GREAT! My story is that in the course of changing a light bulb, I pulled the whole fixture--including the electrical box--out of the ceiling. Schaeffer gave me "same-day service," and Paul was able to repair the damage I caused in short order. I am absolutely thrilled with Paul and the work he did for me. I will be Schaeffer's customer for life!

This company really cares about their customers. When you call the office Stephanie or Val are friendly and warm. They get to know you. I will only use them for my electric needs. Total trust.

I hired Schaefer back in 2021 to install some outlets in my basement computer room. They installed 3 prong outlets.. which should have been grounded. Now come 2024, I’m trying to sell my house and fail occupancy inspection by STL county because these were never grounded. When calling Schaefer about this, they tell me it’s $100 fee just for travel and a minimum of $125- so at LEAST $225 for a mistake that they made. I hired another company to repair because I didn’t want to run into the same issue and they couldn’t believe that Schaefer never checked this upon install.. Schaefer completely dropped the ball on this forgetting to check proper grounding. I will never use this company again…

My dining room lights quit working. Schaeffer Electric couldn't see reason for failure. He took down the lights cleaned all components and wires. He hung fixture up. put lightbulbs in and all lights went out again. he did some more detective work and found to his amazement that it was a defective light bulb. He marked the light bulb and wrote a statement that the light bulb was defective. He said in his entire career as electrician this was the first time he had ever seen such a thing. Thanks to his diligence, the light bulb company refunded me in full for the electric repair. Been using Schaeffer Electric ever since.

I hired Schaeffer to run a new 220 outlet for an electric dryer. Craig (tech) did a great job! He was prompt, super friendly and answered all of my questions. He then proactively asked me if I needed a dryer cord. I thought the dryer came with one, but I was wrong. Craig anticipated this need which meant I got the right cord the first time and it was installed properly, saving me time and frustration.

Called them told them exactly what was wrong and address. They showed up walked around and stated well I have to much business so call someone else.
Waster my time they cherry pick what they want and price accordingly.

Professional on install for a upgraded service panel, however they MISLABELED it. Called to complain since we got zapped with an appliance that we thought was off and the company said they 'just copied the old version.' Unacceptable safety issue. If they weren't going to verify the labels they should have left them blank.

Had them come out and install some new receptacles around the house. They showed up on time, worked quickly and professionally, and charged a reasonable amount. I will call them again next time I need work done.

I bought a house from the 40’s that needed completely rewired and the service updated to 200A. After several bids I chose northwest. They arrived as promised and the work was way beyond what I had expected. Highly recommend this company. 1st rate job !

I hired Northwest Electric last year. For some reason the house I moved into had part of my basement and kitchen wired together and caused frequent circuit overloads. They quickly figured out what needed to happen and I haven't had any more issues for the past year! They fixed an issue the previous electrician I hired caused as well. I'll be using Northwest Electric from now on!

We have used Northwest Electric for several home improvements over the last 10-12 years, from hanging ceiling fans, changing out electrical outlets to replacing the entire electrical panel in our home. My husband and I have always been happy with the work Jim and his guys have done in our home. Everyone is very friendly, professional and they clean up after they are done!
