EDIT: We have now finished out latest project with Big Step: a master closet/master bath renovation. It turned out amazing! Our closet has so much storage and space to move around, and our bathroom is a calm, beautiful space that I actually enjoy being in. Nate helped me address my biggest issue (lack of storage space) while also helping us create some inventive solutions for our laundry needs. Todd the Tile Guy might be the best in the business - his work is outstanding, and he pays attention to even the smallest details. We want to thank the entire crew at Big Step for all their time and work on this project. It turned out better than I could ever have dreamed!

I contacted Big Step in my effort to find a company willing to help me with a pantry and mudroom/laundry room update. Nate was amazing to work with, and helped me bring my vision to life - turning two boring spaces into beautiful, usable spaces. He was always available to problem solve, talk through the project, and answer questions.
I also want to give a big thank you and shout out to Cole, who took on so many challenges with this project! He is such a nice, polite worker; he was not deterred by any challenges and helped put the finishing touches on the space.
We are already working with Big Step on another renovation!

I highly recommend Sam, Nate and crew at Big Step Construction. I think the most impressive thing about Nate and crew was that they were always courteous, clean and respectful when in my home. Or maybe it was how they were willing to let me make little suggestions (more than once) and advise me on whether it was the best thing to do, or maybe it was how Nate kept me informed of how it was going and the timing of things.
I could go on and on. Oh yeah, there work was impeccable. These guys are 12 stars! Hire them!

Working with Big Step for our project went very smoothly. I would highly recommend using them for your project. Nate was great, and he went along with all of my decisions, and changes that popped up in the middle of construction. I will be using them again for our next project.

We hired Sam Brox, and The Big Step construction team to help us update our home with closet doors, new trim and paint, build a coffee bar and update an office By putting in French doors. The entire process starting with the estimate, as it was done with quality and professionalism. Sam took his time and measured everything to ensure he was accurate in the bidding process.

He sought to understand what we were looking for, and then his team went to work. From the initial wood floor work to the painters, the electricians and the carpentry, all processes were top-notch. The quality of work was matched by the quality of the Big Step Team Members we came in contact with! Sam communicated to all with a project timeline, yet remained flexible for any adjustments we added during the project.

Good people and great turnaround on the project. So easy to work with and people we looked forward to seeing when they were working on our home! Pictures attached.

We are very pleased with how our interior painting turned out. They were super easy to work with, paid attention to detail, clean and professional, not to mention quick but in a good way. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with it! A job well done and we would have them back in a heartbeat.

Tim and his guys replaced our deck. Was very small and not accommodating to our family. They increased the sq footage to give us the space we needed. Both Tim and his team answered all our questions in a timely manner and made the experience very easy.

Tim and his team took on a garage project for us on short notice and we had a great experience with them. They stuck to thier estimate, were on time, communicated well throughout the project and went the extra mile on a few additional items they found not connected to the project. It's nice to work with people who say what they do and do what they say.

I hired Altar Construction to repair the roof over the living room at my lakehouse. They replaced some of the underlayment, and then installed all new materials and shingles. Job was done on time and within budget.
The crew was courteous, responsive and focused on the job at hand. Communication about the project was timely and thorough. I will call them again and recommend Altar Construction for new or remodeling construction projects.

Tim and the contractors with Altar Construction did a great job in the remodel of our laundry room. They were friendly yet professional, on time, did high quality work, and left a clean space when they were done. Highly recommend.

Tim and his crew are phenomenal! We used them for a master bath remodel as well as a basement bedroom remodel. Communication, final price and quality control were impeccable! When hiccups happened not only did he make sure the process was communicated but handled perfectly! Altar Construction installed our basement for us. If I could give more than 5 STARS I would. I simply cannot say enough about the incredible professionalism and quality of work that this company provides. They went out of their way to ensure that we were happy and satisfied with the job we paid for. In this day and age where customer service is sorely lacking, Altar Construction has it in spades! We are in the midst of a remodel of a 1920s two-story requiring significant upgrades including bathrooms, electrical service and tuck pointing. Tim and the Altar team are doing a great job and the project is on schedule and the workmanship is excellent.

Tim did a great job. Our project grew substantially but he was flexible and able to handle the changes. He was always good about communicating the timeframe and visited frequently to check on progress and go over any changes or issues. His follow up on the punch list items was very good and we were completely satisfied with the finished project. We would highly recommend Tim for your next project.

Altar Construction Group was great to work with. Tim Svoboda was always responsive and caring throughout the entire process.
