We had a great experience with Big Step Construction! Nate managed our basement remodel and approached the project as if it were his own home. They did a great job mapping out a floor plan that worked well with all of our needs and our budget. We broke this into two projects, as we plan to add the bathroom in later, but Nate made sure that we did all that we could now to avoid extra work (and mess) when we are ready to tackle the bathroom. Nate did a great job checking in and maintaining communication with us, fielding our questions throughout the project. We are extremely satisfied with our home and impressed with how well they managed to stay on schedule! I have already recommended them to a few of my friends and customers.

Strong communication throughout the process. When my needs changed mid- stream, the Big Step crew made that easy, and followed up well. The final project was scheduled (and completed) quickly, and I was impressed with each of the workers professionalism and respect for my house beyond just the job area. The Big Step Construction crew replaced two windows in our home in August 2024. They were the sweetest hearts, skilled, professional, and did a fabulous job. I would hire them and recommend them without reservation!

It's been just about a year since our kitchen remodel was in it's beginning with Big Step Construction. As I look at the album of photos from the process, I am reminded of how hard they worked to make my vision come true. Even when my choices seemed a bit unusual, they helped me fit them in and really make it a space that we can use well and love. Joe was extremely patient as I planned layout and colors, and has a great sense of humor. He also was there to reassure me when the timeline became stretched and the stress built up. Mike and Mark were fantastic at demo and framing as we moved a wall and reconfigured the layout. I especially appreciated their care in clean up and willingness to answer my questions. I know most workers prefer to not be pestered while they work, and they always made a few minutes to help me understand what was happening so that I could be confident in each step. Big Step also chose well with the electricians and drywall company. Both were SO much fun to have around as they worked. It was amazing to see how much they could get done in a day.
I'm very pleased with the way everything turned out. I would not hesitate to hire them again for a home remodeling project. We are going to enjoy our kitchen for decades!

These young guys did an excellent job! They were courteous and polite, taking the time to answer my questions and listening to what I had to say. They did excellent work and I'm so excited to enjoy our new addition!

We are pleased with the work perfomed by Big Step Construction. Removal of a load bearing wall, attic beam installation and drywall work. The professionals who performed the work gave us confidence answering all our questions. We had some minor drywal patching issues which was addressed immediatly, and to our satisfaction.

Big Step was first-class from start to finish. Their Project Manager, Nate Johnson, was there with us through every part of our renovation project. When you make that kind of investment in your home, you want to be sure you're getting your investment's worth, and with Big Step we certainly got a job well done.

It's been just a bit over two months since our kitchen remodel by Big Step Construction finished. I had been warned before we began that remodels can be stressful. I can honestly say that I think working with Big Step cut that stress down to a minimum. There were glitches and delays like there are for any project, but I was reassured that it was all going to work out well.
My kitchen choices were a nod to the vintage/retro, and Joe rolled with them all as we worked out the details. He listened to me and made sure that any product used would be something that would serve our family well. We ended up choosing custom built cabinets and granite, and both are just beautiful.
Mike and Mark were respectful, hardworking, and patient with me as I asked a million questions. Each other worker who came in really did his best to give me confidence in my plan and make me feel part of the process. I feel like I'm not giving a clear picture of just how wonderful it has been to see my dream come true because of their excellence. I had a hard time finding a contractor willing to come to where we live, and I think that it was just God giving me a chance to work with the best.

Big Step did a great job on my exterior home project! I am very pleased with the outcome.
Mark and Mike came to my home, we discussed what was needed and they were clearly knowledgeable; answering every question and taking the time to explain their suggestions. From start to finish, Mark kept in contact and checked on the progress. The painter, Ricardo, and his helper were great- hard working, very good at their jobs!
The other workers (carpenter and installer) were also great as well- they arrived when they said they would, got the job done! Thank you again!

I can’t say enough good things about Big Step Construction! We live out of state and needed some renovations done to our downtown Lincoln condominium. From the moment I emailed Big Step, I received excellent communication from Nate. He was so easy to communicate with and always on time. If we set up a time to meet or talk, he was there! The communication was honestly better than any other construction company I have ever worked with. He even sent me pictures of the progress without even asking. The project itself turned out great. Nate had great ideas, stuck to the very specific timeline and I couldn’t be happier! The condo looks amazing and if we need any other work done, we will definitely be using Big Step. Nate and his team did great work on multiple projects for us, including a pantry refresh, a closet redo and a bathroom renovation. He helped make the space more efficient and feel so much more important. We somehow took the square footage of our primary bathroom/closet and transformed it into a bathroom with more storage than before and still have a spacious closet that sometimes I treat as a room!

The team helped us understand all aspects of the process and found ways to bring some of our nontraditional ideas to life. Would recommend 10/10!

We recently had the siding replaced on our home. We had waited a long time to be able to do this and I was very excited to finally get it done! Big Step was easy to work with and Nate did a wonderful job as project manager making sure everything was done right and we were pleased with the outcome! The crew was courteous and friendly!
