Carlson overhauled our master bed and bath, living and laundry rooms with expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. From the design phase to the day the last worker walked out our door, we couldn’t be happier (even the subs were great!). I’ve waited over a year to write this review. Why? Because we wanted to see if we still felt the same way we did when our projects were completed. I’m happy to say that we remain thrilled with Carlson’s work. But equally important they are great people with high character and integrity. They are honest, priced fair and hard working. I would use them over and over again. Carlson was great to work with from project beginning to end. The whole team (from office personnel to laborers) were professional, timely, and up front with all communication. The quality of work is excellent. The craftsmen who competed the work were friendly and communicative about project timeline. When we decided to put in a pool this past summer, we knew we needed to reach out to someone who could run with our vision (and make it way better) as well as a company that could handle everything as we are busy people and had no time to babysit a contractor.
We had admired Carlson Projects' work in the past and they were the first- and only- call we made. Stefan had several really cool ideas that we had to pull back on a bit on because of city codes. He pivoted easily and adjusted ideas to make the space still unique and usable for our large family.
Tyler and Travis and the others that worked at our house nearly all summer were such great guys. Nothing about our job was cookie cutter. We wanted Timbertek seamlessly wrapped around a 20x40 pool. They were up for the challenge even after digging the world's largest footings in clay like dirt. No detail was left behind as our components are covered with a gorgeous cedar enclosure, our pool skimmer lid blends in perfectly, a planter box with it's own set of challenges...and I could go on and on.

Carlson Projects helped us to design our home. Stefan is wonderful to work with and was able to take our families dreams, ideas, and future plans into account - along with our budget - and provide custom house plans that fit those dreams. The results speak for themselves. We hired Carlson to do a full gut renovation on the kitchen and mudroom of our 90 year old home. We had a great experience from start to finish. Working on such an old home can be complicated but Rob, Tom, and the rest of the team worked through all of the details until they were perfect. I'd highly recommend.

We’ve renovated several properties over the years but this was our first experience working with Carlson Projects.
We’ve had mixed results with other contractors. This time our goals were clear. We wanted a local company that had been and would continue to be in business for a while. We wanted to meet and know the people who would be working on our property. We wanted EXCELLENT craftsmanship by experienced professionals using quality products of our choice. We wanted the project done in a timely manner. And, of course, we wanted it all done at a reasonable price.
We’ve always resisted using a general contractor, believing one would add a great deal to the cost, but after some discussion, and after seeing Carlson’s commitment to the project, we agreed to have them manage the entire endeavor.
Our remodel was going to be the largest project we had ever done, so we hired a certified experienced designer to design and help implement the plans. Carlson worked with her to bring all of her ideas to life. Working in an existing space, there were many snags along the way, but everyone worked together to change or fix any issues.
Carlson employees, including family members, did most of the jobs, such as framing, drywall work, removing and adding doors, outdoor roof flashing, installing textural walls, adding beam to reinforce an existing floor, removing a weight-bearing beam, and many other jobs. For tile, cabinet building, and electrical, they brought in Lincoln craftsmen they had worked with in the past.
Carlson gave a clear and detailed bid. Even after several add-ons and changes, we ended up paying the amount we were quoted. When we had additional work, we were consulted on the cost. If we ended up not needing an item, we were credited the expense. There were no surprises on the billing statement.
Not only did we get all we wanted, we met a really nice family and team of people who are skilled, friendly, and work well together. And they patiently put up with some changes and unusual design requests. We will continue to call on Carlson for any future projects, larger or small.

The whole Carlson team were amazing partners in making the vision for our remodel come to life. I truly enjoyed working with Stefan, Scott, Heather and the rest of the team.

We are thrilled with our main level remodel. Our home was built in 2008 and we did a full main level facelift - new flooring, paint, some cabinet work, new light and plumbing fixtures, new hardware, etc. Carlson Projects is, without a doubt, the most responsive, transparent, trustworthy builder we've worked with over the years. We stayed on budget except for a few changes we elected to make along the way, and there were no surprises. They communicated well and showed up every day. Our onsite project manager Rob was detail-oriented, and incredibly thoughtful - he kept our home safe and clean. They were respectful of our time and our space as we were still living there during the remodel. They also kept track of the sub-contractors coming and going. They took our vision and made it a beautiful reality, and were open to our suggestions along the way, including the incorporation of subs we had previously used. Their follow-up and ongoing communication has been excellent. We have now been in the new space for over six months, and we have no complaints. We would be happy to provide a reference to any future customers.

I cannot say enough positive things about Carlson Projects! I had initially worked with two other contractors in Lincoln, NE for a price quote on a home remodeling project. These price quotes came back significantly more than I was expecting or wanting to spend. Carlson Projects was then referred to me by a friend. After reaching out to Carlson Projects, Stefan was very prompt in setting up an appointment to review the remodeling project and he listened carefully to what I was wanting to accomplish. After receiving their quote, I was surprised when their price came in at $40,000 to $50,000 less than the other contractors! I continued to work with Stefan to plan the remodeling project. Again, he was very communicative and prompt in answering all questions, emails and setting up appointments to prepare for the project. When it came time to begin the remodel, Rob was assigned as my project superintendent. Rob was also very communicative throughout the five month project. He was very easy to work with and quick to address and resolve any small issues that typically arise with a remodel. As a person, I am very detail oriented (some may call it picky). I was very pleased to learn this is also one of Rob’s characteristics and he did not let one small detail go undone during the project! He is also very talented at his craft of woodworking and his talent is now displayed throughout the house. I praise Rob for the extra effort he made to seal off other areas of the house and for keeping the areas he was working in as tidy and organized as possible throughout the project. I am very pleased with the final product (kitchen, living area, dining area, half bath and laundry room). I truly enjoyed working with Carlson Projects and would highly recommend them to anyone that is seeking an honest, reliable and reasonable contractor!

We got both of the bathrooms in our house completely redone--both rooms torn down to their bare bones, with new walls, plumbing, electrical; the whole works. We knew when we started this project it was going to be difficult because of our 1920s house, but Carlson Projects made everything as easy as possible. Everyone on our team was a fantastic communicator and laid out every step of the plan clearly for us to understand where all of our money was going. We communicated the style we wanted and Heather & her team did a fantastic job of giving us ideas, but letting us have the final say with every decision. Our bathrooms are not only beautiful now, but more functional than ever. We are so happy with the work they did and they way they did it.

We hired Carlson Projects to remodel and update our three bathrooms and have been very pleased with the results! The two main-floor bathrooms shared a common wall that was removed and reconfigured to give us a larger primary bathroom that we love using!
While updating the lower level bathroom, our Project Superintendent discovered a leak underneath the original shower. We were so thankful that we had not hired one of the companies that feature one or two day remodeling. Carlson’s correctly repaired the leak and continued with our project as planned.
It was reassuring to work with Carlson’s staff from the beginning to the end of our project, knowing it would be done right. Stefan’s blueprints incorporated every bit of space available in the bathroom reconfiguration, Heather’s designs were so creative and beautiful, and Mark’s attention to detail and coordination of construction crews was impressive. All of the workers were masters of their craft, arrived promptly and always treat your project as if it’s their own.
We really enjoy our new spaces and have recommended Carlson Projects to numerous friends and neighbors.

I cannot say enough good things about Brandon and his crew. After a bad storm a very old very large tree fell on my house and garage. I was lucky enough to have my insurance company refer me to them. They came out the same day and even moved part of the tree out from in front of my garage so I could get my car out. It would have been a very stressful time but it actually ended up being dare I say enjoyable. He and his entire crew were very kind and respectful. We had amazing communication during the whole process. I am a single older woman and I was treated with incredible respect and kindness. Very lucky to know these guys. The work they did was just perfect.
