They canceled our appointment the night before because one or two text didn’t seem to stimulate them enough to show up. Turns out they want $25,000 minimum and they didn’t even bother to find out what my full budget is. A window company made the time to show up after I said, we’re not going to be buying thousands of dollars from you. They were so considerate of our needs they ended up getting a $35k project. You should take time to listen to anyone who invites you into their home.

The fire pit Jefes Landscaping built for us completely exceeded expectations. It’s modern, functional, and adds such a warm atmosphere to our home. We use it almost every night! Their team was professional and communicated throughout the project, which gave us peace of mind. It feels like a luxury upgrade without the stress.

We messaged them same day and they were able to complete the service same day!! Amazing company! They also sent before and after pictures and they offer the best price!

Horses and rabbits kept us from having a nice lawn in the front yard no matter how hard we tried. That, added to some poor landscaping that was completed by another company a few years ago, let us to needing a landscaper. I contacted Jefe's Landscaping, and they came out the next day to give us a quote. The quote was completely within reason, so we decided to go with them. They were able to begin the project within three weeks, and completed the project in four days. The retaining wall looks great, and they were in consistent contact with us to discuss how we wanted the wall to look. The employees were very friendly, and cleaned up Each day before they left. I highly recommend Jefe's Landscaping, and will absolutely use them with any future jobs we have.

These guys do great work! My wife and I bought a house with a xeroscaped yard but we have 3 dogs that need a place to play so we wanted to put in some artificial turf (a little green just looks nice). We called Austin at Jefe's and he came out quickly to give us an estimate and talk through the options. He was very knowledgeable and thorough to explain what they could do and offered his expertise on how to do the border (which turned out great).

Then we asked him if his crew could get the job done within 3 weeks as we were having a big get-together and we wanted the artificial turf in place for that event. They met our timeline and had the turf installed and looking great 3 days before our event. That was 2 months ago and the turf is still in perfect condition. Even with our dogs best efforts to rip it up, it is still holding firm and looks great! I highly recommend Jefe's for professional, affordable landscaping service.

We wanted a patio that was both functional and beautiful, and Jefes Landscaping delivered beyond our expectations. Our new paver walkway and patio are perfect for entertaining. The team was friendly, efficient, and very attentive to our ideas.

08/03/25 Update: Upon publishing this review, Jefe's offered a monetary sum to make good on some of the repairs that I paid another to complete. I appreciate this effort. Thank you.

05/04/25: Pictures included: sub-par workmanship on the shed, missing siding on the house due to damage, unfinished fence work (small and fairly easy to fix, but evidence of the level of unfinished workmanship), samples of the level of communication you can expect, a finished product shed after hiring someone else to correct issues.
    Poor Communication:
I hired Jefe’s Landscaping to re-do my backyard in late January of 2024. They got to work quickly. About 6 weeks into the job, they demanded I pay the balance in full. I did. I then spent months asking for status updates every couple of weeks as I wouldn’t see anyone on the jobsite for weeks. Sometimes I wouldn’t receive a response. Many times, I was left unsure if they intended to complete the job. They did in fact complete the backyard to the extent that I have a usable, and significantly better, backyard!
    Poor Workmanship:
Jefe’s built a shed in a highly visible place in my backyard—it’s a focal point from the sitting area. The bottom cut on the front of the shed was grossly irregular (see picture). The trim on one side wall wasn’t finished to be flush with the end of the wall (see picture), and one of the front doors had been mounted upside down. More importantly, the side walls of the shed did not reach the roof (there was an open 3-4” deep gap between the side wall and the trim inserted near the roof). When I asked Jefe’s to correct this open space, I was told “it’s not a big deal, the overhang will keep the weather out”.
    Difficulty Solving Problems:
The siding on my house was damaged in 3 different areas during the work. After asking me to prove that the siding existed before their work started, I provided them with their own pictures, with siding intact, from their quote to me. Accidents happen during service. A professional company gets on the solution right away and makes things right.
After months of communications attempting to resolve these issues with the shed and the siding, I hired a repairman to fix the issues with the shed. David came out and inspected the finished work and told me he would cut me a check or apply the credit to more work. He did not know how to fix the damaged siding on the house as the siding is old, but said he would get back to me. Months later, with no resolution, I hired that same repairman to come out and fix the damaged siding on the house as well.
In attempting to solve these issues with Jefe’s, with little or no response over the course of several more months, I was accused of not giving them the opportunity to fix the problems for “way less money”. I work in the services industry; these are not strategies professionals use to solve problems. All responses from Jefe’s have stopped. I've paid someone else to do the work they would not finish.
You're going to invest a significant amount of money if you're considering hiring a landscaper; hire a reputable company that takes pride in their work and their finished product, and you can then feel proud of the investment you’ve made! There are other, professional companies in our area that take time to communicate regularly with their customers and that don’t require a final deposit until you’re happy with the work you’ve paid for. Seek them out.

Jefe’s Landscaping is an excellent company. David and Austin were patient and listened to everything I what I said that I wanted. They worked incredibly hard every day they were here. The end result exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Jefe’s Landscaping. My dog loves the lawn.

Where do I start? Love this company!! We interviewed about 4 different companies to find so many flaky and expensive businesses out there. Then we found Jefes. Austin came by and understood our project and our budget. He designed an amazing landscape to get us started on our phase 1 out of 3. We were at the end of the year with winter pressing in. The crew came in and busted it out.

They had a great design, work ethic, and crew was extremely professional. We weren’t happy with the placement of two trees— they came and fixed it! And they continue to be communicative as we save our pennies for the next phase!

They use quality materials as well and gave us more than we expected! So at the end of the day the quality and the price — very impressed. Thank you guys!!! Looking forward to next project!!

Thank you so much to Jefes Landscaping for the fabulous landscaping job in my backyard. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew - they were hardworking, friendly, and on time. The results are exactly what I was hoping for, and my backyard looks beautiful.

Our experience was challenging. Contracted on 4/2/25, all approvals received on 5/21/25. Start date 6/2/25, final completion date 10/14/25. The initial quote was "2 weeks" once work started. Actual duration: 134 days / 19 weeks. They installed a pergola, outdoor kitchen and hot tub steps. Overall, the construction came out very nice after some rework of quality escapes. However, they tied the outdoor kitchen sink to the irrigation waterline downstream of the backflow preventer/vacuum breaker. Therefore, it doesn't work in the winter AT ALL and cannot be used as a potable water source because of risk of being dangerously contaminated by the irrigation system (which is the exact reason for a backflow preventer). They never advised us that the sink would be non-potable OR inoperable 5 months of the year. When questioned, they responded that was meant as a non-potable rinse station for things like cleaning gardening equipment (never disclosed) and not safe for food handling, drinking, etc. and to think of it as a "jobsite rinse sink" even though it is installed right next to the outdoor grill.
Here is the exact contract language:

"Electrical and Plumbing: We incorporate electrical and plumbing installations to accommodate various appliances and utilities, ensuring that the outdoor kitchen is fully functional and versatile." 7 months a year is not fully functional. And this clearly states OUTDOOR KITCHEN which implies food handling.

Finally, once they activated the water system, it developed a 1200 gallon/day leak which only happened AFTER they disturbed the system. That cost us an additional $1300 to "fix." This $75k job left a lot to be desired. Be careful with Jefe's. Get EVERYTHING in writing, get clarification on EVERYTHING and ensure there are time commitments stated in your contract.

If you are looking for a landscape company to show you what exceptional work is from start to finish, look no further than Jefes! Their attention to detail, a full rendering concept design, sophistication, and quality of craftsmanship truly set them apart. The backyard and outdoor kitchens they create feel custom, refined, and thoughtfully curated—every element is executed at a high level. Professional, organized, and a pleasure to work with. If you’re looking for a luxury outdoor space that elevates your home, this team delivers. 10/10 highly recommend!

We recently moved into a new home and our backyard was literally just rock and dirt — a completely blank slate. Working with Jefes Landscaping was the best decision we could have made. From the beginning, they took the time to really listen to what we wanted and helped bring our vision to life step by step.
The 3D rendering they provided was incredibly helpful and gave us confidence in the design before any work started. Their team was very hands-on throughout the process, always respectful of our space, and made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. Watching them turn an empty yard into a beautiful, finished backyard was amazing. The final result is fabulous, and we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend!
Ow we just need to get the jacuzzi and fire pit!

I couldn’t be happier with our new pavered backyard! From start to finish, this company was professional, reliable, and detail-oriented. The crew showed up on time every day, communicated clearly throughout the project, and treated our property with care. The craftsmanship is outstanding—the pavers are beautifully laid, level, and completely transformed our outdoor space. The project was completed on schedule and exactly as promised. We’ve already received so many compliments and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for high-quality work and a stress-free experience.

Jesus is a pleasure to work with. He is very responsive and professional. Jesus communicated frequently even while waiting for HOA approval of the design. The crew that worked on the project was very professional and respectful of property. I am very pleased with the design and the results. I highly recommend Pantera there is not a single complaint or thing that I'm not happy about. The before and after pictures speak much louder than I could every say in recommending Pantera.

We really enjoyed working with Jesus. He was honest, knowledgeable, and very low key. We changed our minds a couple times about what we wanted during the process and he was very patient with us. The backyard patio and rock landscaping turned our very nicely

We hired Pantera Landscape for a major landscaping and hardscaping project at our Reno home, paying $75,098.89 in total. Their initial verbal bid came in $20,000 lower than the final price, which they raised after their design team produced the renderings. (Felt like a bait and switch.) The project was estimated at three weeks and ran closer to 4 months, off and on.

    The workmanship problems are significant:

    • The front steps had to be rebuilt three times and still are not code-compliant. The third rebuild happened after a month of using the steps, when the tops started falling off — a serious safety issue. Even after the third build, the steps are uneven in height (up to an inch difference in places). We have hired another company to fix them.
    • Retaining wall caps are uneven and sawed off; multiple caps were not secured.
    • Uneven retaining walls throughout.
    • Mid-project, they mismeasured the distance of the top retaining wall from the house by several feet, leaving a significant slope despite plans calling for level terraces. They did not take responsibility until we showed them the plans and pushed the issue. They did finally come through with a fix, which was to build a fourth retaining wall.
    • Sprinkler system was botched and part of our lawn is dying. Danny and Jesus said they could not prioritize a fix for several weeks because they didn't want to make other customers upset.
    • Decorative rock installed too thin; weed barrier is visibly exposed throughout.
    • Glue residue left on the front door and on wall blocks.
    • Exterior lighting has multiple lights that don't work.

When we raised the defects, the response was to blame "unforeseen conditions" and "site conditions" — that is, the slope of our yard (which was the entire reason we hired them to build terraces) and a gas line at 12 inches (which is standard code depth and discoverable through the legally required 811 utility locate). Neither qualifies as unforeseen. If site conditions were a concern, they never should have taken the job.

Our last text (requesting they cover the cost of the new contractor we hired to fix the issues) went unanswered. We have filed a complaint with the Nevada State Contractors Board.

In our experience: limited skills, and no accountability when problems surfaced. If you're considering Pantera, get every specification in writing, document everything with photos, and pay in much smaller increments. I don't recommend hiring them for complex jobs.
