Chris is a true professional. He has been out to service our complex, aged heating and air conditioning systems. Chris was able to diagnose issues with our HVAC system where others have failed. He is intelligent and communicates well. I feel immensely confident and comfortable with Chris. There is no one else I trust with our system. Hawthorne is extremely lucky to have Chris as an employee.

I had Ralph Lenard at my home to clean out our sewer line. The quality of his work was outstanding. I appreciated that he took is time to answer all my questions. Overall, I recommend Ralph to any homeowner in our community.

We called Hawthorne Plumbing, Heating & Cooling to inspect our AC after it stopped working. Their technician came out, did an assessment, and quoted us over $8,000 to fix the issue. When we followed up to move forward with the repair, they suddenly changed the quote to $23,000, claiming we now needed to replace both the AC unit and the furnace, even though the furnace was working perfectly fine.

This massive price jump was alarming, so we decided to get a second opinion. Thankfully, we did. Another technician quickly diagnosed the actual issue: a single $10 component was broken. They replaced it quickly and the AC worked immediately.

We reached out to Hawthorne to raise our concerns. They offered no apology, no explanation, and took zero accountability. They quietly refunded our $100 estimate fee, but that was the extent of it.

At best, their technicians are completely incompetent and unable to diagnose basic HVAC problems. At worst, they are deliberately upselling expensive, unnecessary work to people who may not know better, especially during a heat wave when AC repairs are urgent.

This experience was extremely disappointing and could have cost us thousands. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company entirely.

Chris with Hawthorne Plumbing, Heating and Cooling was our technician today. He was knowledgeable, honest and friendly. He made a repair to our A/C unit to get us back up and running. He presented his recommendations very well and didn’t leave us feeling pressured. We are definitely going to move forward with his recommendation to replace our entire unit, when we are ready to do so we plan to call Hawthorne and ask for Chris to be our technician again.

Josh was great, he communicated throughout the entire process and went above and beyond to find other issues that might arise. I would highly recommend Hawthorne and Joshua Tomasian for their customer service.

Anthony was outstanding! He installed our gas range and completed the propane conversion with exceptional precision and care. He took the time to walk us through every detail, ensuring all settings were correctly adjusted and everything was functioning safely. His professionalism and expertise truly stood out. While the overall cost was higher than anticipated, the quality of service we received—thanks to Anthony—makes it well worth it. We will probably choose Hawthorne again because of this experience.

I am licensed property manager, I called them for an emergency last night for a rental property. They agreed to go out to the property. They were given the tenant phone numbers and the address to the property. They never called the tenants or showed up to the emergency. Water has now leaked from upstairs to downstairs for over 24 hours causing damage to the property.

In 2022 I had a copper water pipe break near our recirculating pump. I called Hawthorne to repair the leak. They responded promptly and quickly to repair the leak. We were very happy with it but it was a bit expensive but the plumber took a few hours and we had to replace the pump so the over $1000.00 price tag seemed reasonable if not a slight premium. Fast forward to today just 3 years later and that same part broke and was leaking again. Hawthorn was quick to get plumber here who looked at the pipe and said it needed to be repaired. Quoted me $600 to repair and completed the work in roughly an hour. I am not sure what a foot or two of copper pipe and some solder costs but I would expect an experienced tradesman to make $150ish an hour. I also expect the plumbing company to make a profit but this price feels like I am the sucker. The plumber who came to my house was nice and seemed very competent that’s why it’s not a one star review. If I wasn’t desperate for hot water I would have shopped around. A detailed invoice of what I am paying for would go a long way in making it not feel like I got taken advantage of.

I can not be more thankful for the services I received today, in the middle of a storm. Our technician, Anthony, went way out his way from clearing a walking path, to being totally excellent and professional. I was told about this company from my boss and I already had someone requesting for me to pass the companies information to them and I absolutely will recommend for him to request Anthony!! Top tier!!!
