Had a tree start to fall as the root ball gave way. Got in touch with Kevin and he was at the house within an hour and said he could have his crew here the next morning at 8am and they were. Approximately 2 hours later he had that tree and 2 others down and everything cleaned up. This makes 20 trees that have been taken down on my property by Kevin and his crew through the years and every time they have done a fantastic job. The price was good...you get what you pay for...trees down, no damage and everything cleaned up.

Great experience hiring Kevin and his team at gate city for a full day of work. Kevin came to give the estimate on a sunday evening and had the work done the following monday. Price was good, quality was good, cleanup was good and they got a few extra things done than expected. They also cut all the hardwood down to rounds for me to split for firewood which was a major bonus. Highly recommended gate city and will definitely use them for future projects!

Fantastic experience with Gate City Tree Service for a large crane-assisted tree removal project! They run a highly efficient and safe operation with multiple machines. It was amazing to watch them remove towering pine trees! Kevin Fredette and his entire crew are true professionals. They worked diligently from their prompt 8 a.m. arrival until they finished at 3 p.m.
They cleared debris as best they could as there was snow/ice on the ground. After seeing their great work for several neighbors in our development, we knew we were in good hands. We couldn’t be more pleased and will definitely have them back for stump grinding and our next project -- pruning in the spring. Highly recommend! Deserves all 5 Stars!!

Pioneer Tree Service did an outstanding job of clearing and cutting down a large number of dead trees, limbs, and invasive growth. They also removed stumps, spread wood chips, and graded the area. They were very easy to work with and completed the work to my absolute satisfaction. The men were very professional, hard working, and thorough and took pride in their work. I appreciated the responsiveness and quality of work performed by Pioneer.

Zero respect for noise ordinance times. They were making a massive racket (both machinery and yelling profanities) at 7am on a Saturday in a normally extremely quiet neighborhood.

I had Pioneer Tree remove 2 trees today that required a crane, these guys do incredible work. They were great from start to finish. I would recommend them to anyone.

All work was done at the time promised and at a reasonable price. The team was very careful around our landscaping and did excellent cleanup.

Fantastic customer relations and top quality service. Performed a complicated tree removal project of 25+ trees along with extensive stump grinding and produced results that exceeded expectations. A very positive experience. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

I was quoted in May of 2020 that Pioneer would remove a pine tree from my yard. I was told that they could not get to it until September... September came and went. I called and was told November... That ship sailed with another no show. I called one more time and was told March of 2021 for sure. My quote/work order was being shuffled from folder to folder i was told each time i called... It's April now... I'm not calling again to get the same song and dance. Pioneer has not once called me. I guess the 1 tree is not important to their business.

I was at work when they took 12 trees down at my house.
When I got home, the yard looked like they were never here.
All trees were gone, and there wasn’t a branch to be found.
They were very professional and courteous when dealing with my wife.
I will be having back in the future to do a much larger job.
Highly recommended.

Nice new business to town. Had an interview not easily impressed for entry-level people. Hopefully in the future they can be more open. Considered my experience more doing firewood. I've done back dragging to make flat land. Clearing land clearing brush. I have over 80 plus trees to my credit. Well over 80 to a hundred feet plus. Also took engine courses and have a trade certificate. To be a multitasker small engines in engines are a passion.

If honesty, responsiveness, and sticking to agreed upon pricing and timeframes are important to you, DO NOT use Pioneer Tree! Have used several great tree companies over the years, depending on the size and location of the job, and have never had a horrible experience like we had with this company. Avoid!

Pioneer took down a couple 50 year old maples in front of my house. No crane needed, just a bucket truck. They removed the trees, ground the stumps, and cleaned everything up for us. Price was very reasonable, A+. Both my neighbors used them as well (one had trees pruned, the other had a similar maple removed). I'll gladly bring them back for the next job.

I am new to the town and had nowhere to ask for help for an unexpected delivery. I went their place and they are probably the best people in the town or this business. they were super nice and tried to help me with a unload wooden crate from a delivery, even it didn't work out in the end but I definitely would call them for tree service if I ever needed it in the future

CAUTION.. If this is still involving Spencer Stickney and used to be Tree n Turf at same address, steer clear of giving them ANY credit. They have outstanding invoices with our business for over a year. They said they would pay, gave us a credit card number, then cancelled the card (or at least, it would never go through). We called so many times, and they kept saying they would pay, but then they stopped accepting calls and would never return calls. If you are a supplier to them, I would seriously suggest COD as it is a matter of time before they scam you too. I have reported them to BBB, but of course they denied being delinquent.

I can’t really express in words how appreciative I am to have had this company answer the emergency call After a microburst dropped a humongous 3,000lb tree on our house. Spencer, Keith & the other members of the crew were so understanding with how upset I was about the loss of my cherry tree. They also immediately helped my 2 neighbors with trees on their homes. They worked 2 days straight just for our little hood. They were prepared for the removal with a crane, truck for tree removal & chipper a the small stuff. Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. I will highly recommend this company for years to come. Look forward to the rest of our tree removal soon.

Great tree service that made quick work of a large standing dead tree on my property. When they were finished cutting down the tree the workers cleaned up the area and blew any remaining debris into the woods. The log truck took a few days to pick up the big stuff.
