I recently had a Cambridge patio with fire pit and steps installed by Derrick and his crew. Needless to say, I am more than impressed. The crew went out of there way to do things that were changed in the fly without an issue. Top notch quality and they finished very quickly. Only issue is, it’s too cold out to enjoy right now. But come the summer. I may not go in the house.

Thrilled with the creative and beautiful design Derek came up with to finish my front steps and matching walkway! His design has totally transformed the entrance to my home. I was also impressed with his professionalism and work ethic. Can’t wait to hire him for the next project!

Derek and his team demonstrated their expertise with hardscape materials during this project. As we observed their process, it was clear to us that their end product will have long lasting results. They took the appropriate steps to prepare the base with the right materials, and they considered the grading away from our foundation to ensure that rainfall would appropriately drain. Their specialty skills were evident throughout the process. From a pricing perspective, we found the cost to be balanced and appropriate for the quality of the work that exceeded our expectations. Derek is great to work with as he is attentive, flexible, punctual, and skillful!

Derek was unable to fulfill the terms of the signed work contract and he attempted renegotiation over a month later. I cannot in good faith recommend Sun Viking.

Sun Viking designed and installed our front yard landscaping and hardscaping. They are very professional and exceeded all of our expectations. The whole job was done in just two days, and totally transformed the look of our home. We highly recommend this company for professional, high quality, worry-free landscaping and hardscaping.

Sun Viking has been a faithful customer of ours for a very long time. Derek and Dave are great guys. They have always been very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Southern New Jersey area looking for quality landscape/hardscape services.

We hired Derek last year to transform our backyard. This involved regrading a large area, with special drainage. Installing a large patio along with a custom bar, grill area and all new plants etc.

Job went great, on time and on budget. His crew was professional. Would not hesitate to use Derek again for hardscaping.

I just want to say what a fabulous experience I had with sun Viking . They installed a patio in 2011 and did a fabulous job. My husband and I were extremely pleased. As time went on and weather did what it does the pavers became dirty. We tried cleaning them ourselves but it did not work. We ended up hiring another company claiming to clean the pavers and resand the patio because we didn’t think sun Viking did this kind of service. What a mistake!!! We hired paver renewal who came out 3 times to power wash and resand our patio. Again what a mistake. The sand never hardened and I constantly brought in loose sand into my den. A year and a half later I sent an email to sun Viking explaining my problem. Within an hour I got a phone call from the owner and within 2 hours he had been to my property for an assessment. It was bad. My patio had been over sanded. Derek, the owner of sun Viking, called me and told me his plan . I got either an email/phone call daily as for the progress of my my patio. Within 1 week of my initial contact with Derek and sun Viking my patio was completely fixed. No more sand coming into my house when I came in off the patio. Derek is probably the only contractor that I have w we dealt with that keeps you informed on a daily basis.
This is not the first time dealing with sun Viking. Back in 2006 they did some backyard landscaping. I was thrilled with it. But about 2 years later a few of my spruce trees started to look not so good. It was January and I called just asking for advice. Well again it was within 24 hours and someone was in my backyard looking at my trees and applying the correct fertilizer at no charge. Words can’t express what something like that means. I would recommend Derek and sun Viking to any and everyone.

The Sun Viking Land Design Team was great to work with from start to finish. They helped us solve a problem with an old brick patio and sloping issues. We had multiple companies come out to our house and Sun Viking was the only company that gave us a clear and complete picture of what we needed to do to solve our issue. We love our new patio and know who we will be using for any future landscape/hardscape projects.

Our old front walkway was a mess. The pavers were old and loose and the layout designed by the previous owners did not make sense for our family. We knew we needed new pavers and a new design, but we struggled with ideas. We had four companies come out in the spring to give us ideas and quotes. Derek was by far the most professional and provided us with ideas that we were excited about. He even followed up after our initial meeting by sending us some computer generated images to better visualize what we had discussed. Some of the other quotes we received were lower in price and they would have been able to come out and do the job sooner, but we had a good feeling about Sun Viking so we decided the price and wait would be worth it and they did not disappoint. Everyone was super professional. The job itself was done in two and a half days and it looks gorgeous! If you are looking to get work done for the outside of your home, go with Sun Viking. You won’t be sorry.

Sun Viking did an amazing job transforming our old walkway & steps into a beautiful new bluestone walkway and cobblestone border around our gardens. Their installation team is first class and from start to finish everything was done in a professional manner. It is everything we hoped to achieve and we would highly recommend them for future work.

I have worked with two other large landscaping contractors in the area, and I'm a huge fan of Sun Viking. Derek and Dave do an incredible job. Unlike some of the other larger contractors, you will be seeing the same person when you get the quote, when you work out the design, and during construction. They are experts on design, construction, drainage, plant selection and maintenance. Every day I would talk to our foreman Dave, we would work out some details, and he would be there all day making sure things were done perfectly. When some unexpected challenges came up, Dave made suggestions that worked perfectly and actually saved cost instead of adding. I can't adequately explain how unique Sun Viking is, or how good a value they are.

We had a large wooden retaining wall in our backyard that was old and decaying, so we knew we had better get it fixed before it gave out. We also had a garden wall in our front yard that was starting to lean and looked bad. Derek took the time to really look at our property and suggest the best ways to deal with our problems. He has a designer's eye when it comes to envisioning landscaping solutions. He included a beautiful drawing to show what the finished product would look like. We decided to replace the wooden wall with one made from pavers, and to add a small patio and fire pit. We also had Sun Viking replace the wooden rails enclosing our raised-bed garden and to bring new river rock to put in between the beds. Everything was done quickly and efficiently, the crew brought their own food and drinks and never asked to use my bathroom (although they would have been welcome to). They gave us an update every day so we knew when they were coming and what the estimated completion date was. They did quality work and our backyard is now transformed into something truly beautiful. The fire pit was done perfectly and the front garden wall is all fixed and worthy of a front-yard garden. We received several other estimates but are very glad we hired Sun Viking for this large landscaping job. They delivered on every count and we recommend them highly! Thanks guys!

We needed to replace our crumbling front steps and loose hand rails. When I asked around for quotes, Sun Viking was by far the most responsive and professional. Once we chose Sun Viking for the project, Derek came out to the house several times before work began to make sure that we understood the plan and that he could match the existing materials as closely as possible. Derek and the team completed the project before the deadline, did a beautiful job, and cleaned up after themselves. They even went the extra mile by replacing bushes that needed to be removed, and putting down mulch and grass seed. It's obvious that the whole team takes pride in their work. I was impressed from start to finish and would definitely use them again.

In my experience it has been rare to find a company that takes as much pride in their work as Sun Viking. We made the mistake of hiring another company first to build us a patio and two sets of steps. They totally botched the job, costing us money, time, and weeks of access to our backyard! Fortunately, we found Sun Viking to come to our rescue and we couldn’t have been happier with the results. Derek was truly a pleasure to work with. It was obvious from the start that quality was important to him and he went the extra mile every step of the way to make sure things were done well. He was at the house every day checking in with both us and his crew to ensure everything went smoothly. They were done in the time promised and the price was 100% reasonable. We’ve also since hired them to do our lawn maintenance and will definitely be working with them again on other projects. I honestly can’t say enough good things about them.

A few years ago I had Sun Viking install a patio for me. They were extremely professional and did an amazing job. I recently had some landscaping work that needed to be done and they immediately came to mind. Derek was able to fit me into his schedule and made sure to complete the work before a party I had in my yard. Their prices are competitive and they pay close attention to detail. I HIGHLY recommend this company for all your landscaping and hardscaping needs.

We requested a quote to update/replace our old brick steps and no one came close to what Sun Viking offered.

Not only did they update our steps but they did some additional work we weren't expecting which included rerouting our downspout which helped resolve a moisture issue in our basement.

Additionally, we've used their lawn services and have been completely happy. When Derek was by dropping off our invoice he noticed a barely loose step tile and stopped what he was doing to take it off and replace it.

You don't get service from many people like this anymore! Highly...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Sun Viking is fabulous! They replaced a wood deck with a paver patio, including new landscaping and lighting. They also addressed drainage issues for us, and were very mindful to ensure rainwater flows away from the home. Their finished product is breathtaking! Derek’s design was spot on, and he came by frequently to ensure we were happy with the progress. We certainly were happy—his crew, Dave and Johnny, were true craftsmen and so easy to work with/accommodating of changes. They also worked well with other contractors that were here at the same time. I would certainly highly recommend Sun Viking!
