Working with Kohut and Son was the most positive experience working with contractors that I've had in a long time . They are honest, hard working, affordable and when I saw the finished job I couldn't believe how beautiful it turned out. Although the area I wanted transformed is small, I was treated as though I was their most important client, which is a rarity in today's world. If you want perfection at an affordable price, Kohut and Son are the ones to call.

Kohut has been doing our landscaping for the past few years and I can highly recommend them! We have a challenging property, large and multi-leveled with hundred year old trees. Jon designed plantings that work well and flourish within our budget. He is extremely responsive and very knowledgable and has also gone above and beyond for special requests or any problems we have had.

Why did I choose Kohut and Sons Landscaping? What made me stop and look was their tastefully designed signs, what made me stare, focus and reflect was their landscaping style and the designs that they created. So, the decision was made, I called them and have not for any quick or brief moment regretted it.
John Kohut was wonderful, he listened to what I wanted and needed. He asked lots of questions regarding my style, wishes and color desires. He even came into my newly renovated home to see what choices I made for decorating, and incorporated it into the landscaping. His crew were hard working and polite, they also completely cleaned up everything each day before leaving. His team created my entire landscaping in such a short time, I was blown away. I went from a Mars looking terrain to a lush green oasis in a blink of the eye, from the paver walkway to the rock wall edging to the seasonal changing colors. It’s perfect.

When we moved to ML three years ago, we knew our front yard and landscaping would be one of our largest projects. We saw John’s work around town for quite a while and reached out to him hoping he would be able to bring out the homes full potential. John met with us multiple times on design ideas, budget and 3D mock ups. Once we settled on the plan John and his team couldn’t have been more amazing throughout the process, very professional, always cleaned up everyday and if obstacles came up he provided options. John also provided recommendations for a plumber, sprinkle system, lighting and helped us navigate the town requirements which is critical for a project to go well. We LOVE the finished product and it’s better than we dreamed. John was always available and responsive, we plan to use Kohut for any future projects and ongoing maintenance. John and his crew always have a smile on their face, work from dawn until dusk, and always clean up at the end of each day. Our project was completed in record time because of their amazing work ethic and efficiency. Everyone is highly trained and takes extra precautions to do the project in the safest manner.

If you are able to get an appointment with John Kohut, you are very lucky, for this company is in high demand because of their gorgeous results! Many thanks John and crew for transforming our property into an enchanted garden with a sod play area. We absolutely love it!! Also, they expanded our driveway and landscaped beautifully on both sides. Additionally, they built 3 sets of durable steps, 3 retaining walls using boulders and a gorgeous brick-bordered bluestone walkway leading up to our house. The details and accents used are stunning. Earthy materials were incorporated, like rocks and boulders, so that we could have a more natural look on our property.

This was not an easy job, but that did not deter John and his crew. He even took it to the next level and provided recommendations for a sprinkler system and lighting. John adjusted and redesigned the layout to incorporate the sprinklers and beautiful lighting. Then, he continued to work with the sprinkler and lighting company and helped them even after his job was complete.

Some companies hurry through a job to get it done as fast as possible, but the difference with Kohut and Son Landscaping is that they go the extra mile to do things right the first time. They even transplanted all our plants that needed to be moved for the new project to a different area on our property so that those plants could be saved. Now the birds, squirrels and wildlife are also appreciating it!

We asked John if he could plant some perennials that were mostly deer resistant because we have lots of deer around our neighborhood. John did exactly as we hoped and even added some of our favorite flowers so that we could make floral arrangements inside the house as well! It seems there is nothing too difficult for John and his team. We will forever be grateful for the beautiful property you created for us. Many thanks John Kohut and crew!!

We just recently hired Kohut and Son to do some work in our new backyard and he and his team did the most incredible work. John Kohut's vision is next level. His employees are the most kind people and go out of their way to do everything really well. Everything is taken care of and done with attention to detail. I have never seen such impeccable work before. They really are the absolute best. They also do a great job with clean up once the job is done. I can't say enough good things, but trust me when I say Kohut and Son is the one to hire.

Worst management ever. So unprofessional. I’m so disappointed

When the owner of the company can’t help somebody in need his poor values and I don’t think he does a good job anyway, I’ve seen his work so I wouldn’t recommend him to to anybody

He gave ma a fair estimate for outside drainage work. Proposal from him Oct. 19. He said he was very busy and would do it in November. I did speak to him an he said he would come the next week. That was Thanksgiving. I called again and never heard from him.The fact that he strung us along for so long was horrible He finally just appeared in December with no phone call...just appeared. I must say I think they did a good job. His men were very nice.

Awesome work on the front lawn winding path - thanks again! Your guys are perfectionists! We constantly get complements from passersby! Now we enjoy sitting in the front as well as the back, and it makes it easy for us to bring the garbage cans back and forth without maneuvering around a narrow path around the cars in the driveway! Even the parcel people use the path to bring the packages to our front door!

Over the years, I have hired Fox Hollow for 3 large gardening projects. Their landscaping teams are top notch, take pride in their work and consequently make your dreams come true. Brady is wonderful to work with. Maybe a waterfall / pond project is next? :)

We've used Fox Hollow for a number of landscaping jobs over the years including a stone patio and new plantings. With the patio project we worked together to design the shape and size, and choose the stones. They worked with us to coordinate the new upgraded gas line to the grill as well. They are knowledgable about plants and what works where too.

Fox Hollow L&D just completed a fifth project for my house and property - great work for 2 decades! If you need a bulkhead for your lakefront, a driveway for your front yard, a repair or a new feature inside or outside your house, you can count on great craftsmanship and great ideas to consider.

Don provided excellent service throughout the project. The rain water flowed like a river towards the house and had taken down both retaining walls. I needed to replace the damaged retaining walls and install a drainage solution that took the water away from my house and to the street which his team delivered just as he designed. They started as scheduled and he checked in on their work every day. He even came on a rainy day after the work was finished to see how the water flowed. I'm super pleased with the results.
