I recently contacted Fortress Plumbing Services and wanted to share my experience so others can make an informed decision.

From the start, the company appears to operate more like a call center than a direct plumbing service, which wasn’t clearly communicated upfront. When the technicians arrived, instead of focusing on the specific repair I requested, the conversation quickly shifted toward recommending multiple replacements that I did not need.

After doing my own research, I found that the parts they quoted—around $1,800—can be purchased from common retailers like Amazon or Home Depot for under $200. When I declined the upsell and asked for the specific repair I originally wanted, they were unwilling to proceed.

In addition, there is a $175 service fee just for the visit and assessment, which does not go toward any repair work.

I ultimately hired another professional who completed the job at a much more reasonable cost.

My advice: shop around and always ask for at least a rough estimate before scheduling a visit. If a company is unwilling to provide one, that may be a sign to explore other options.

I was nervous about the cost, but they were upfront and honest from the start. No surprises. They even gave maintenance tips for the future. Great experience from start to finish.

He has all of the tools needed to fix your problem. He came to my rescue after days without water due to an obstruction in the bathroom.

Very professional. The service involved digging under my house foundation. It was very expensive, but it also came with a warranty of two years. They did a great job with my yard. I've had to buy sod before after a repair. So I was very happy with the outcome.

Richard was able help me with the vent in my attic. He made it simple for me to understand. He was very kind and provided excellent customer service. We will definitely use this business again! Thank you!

Gina, our receptionist, was very calm and friendly. She got us an estimation in less that an hour. CJ arrived and was very courteous, friendly and helpful. CJ also worked hard to fix our spigots. We called Wednesday, they came 2 days later! This company is prompt, very friendly and they do a good job! I HIGHLY recommended!

Root Rooter responded quickly. Zachery was there 3 hours after we called about the overflowing toilets. He was thorough in his analysis of the problem, and it was resolved within a short time. He was very personable, efficient and cleaned up thoroughly after himself. This company is highly recommended.

Mark was excellent. Mark had a trainee working with him. He was excellent at explaining what he did, what would happen if he didn't do it correctly, and what safety checks were needed after each segment. While I was watching him train his trainees, I was also being educated. He was prompt with his arrival, was very professional, gave me a quote and estimated the time to finish the job. My expectations were met at the end of the installation.
