I recently contacted Fortress Plumbing Services and wanted to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. From the start, the company appears to operate more like a call center than a direct plumbing service, which wasn’t clearly communicated upfront. When the technicians arrived, instead of focusing on the specific repair I requested, the conversation quickly shifted toward recommending multiple replacements that I did not need. After doing my own research, I found that the parts they quoted—around $1,800—can be purchased from common retailers like Amazon or Home Depot for under $200. When I declined the upsell and asked for the specific repair I originally wanted, they were unwilling to proceed. In addition, there is a $175 service fee just for the visit and assessment, which does not go toward any repair work. I ultimately hired another professional who completed the job at a much more reasonable cost. My advice: shop around and always ask for at least a rough estimate before scheduling a visit. If a company is unwilling to provide one, that may be a sign to explore other options.
