From beginning to end, the Von Hoffmanns have been a pleasure to work with. They helped us to conceptualize a wonderful outdoor living space that works perfectly for our lifestyle. They worked within our budget and the final results exceeded our expectations in every way - from a gorgeous bluestone patio with dining, and fire pit areas to plantings that transformed our yard from boring into a low maintenance beautiful wonderland. Eric and Diana are simply the best. They regularly provide us with expert recommendations that I'm not sure any single landscaping brand has the collective knowledge to offer. Briefly, as the weather has been weird lately, all of the plants in our yard are suffering. Given these extremely wet conditions, I'm not sure what to prune, what to fertilize, and if I am fertilizing, what fertilizer to use. They guided our decision-making and offered some simple and inexpensive recommendations to deal with the excess water. Appreciate you two! Thanks again!

We have worked exclusively with Eric and Diana for 5 years and would highly recommend them. They are incredible partners who bring vision, patience, care and a personal touch to every step of the project. They are extremely talented, they love what they do and they want you to love what they do for you. They have built an excellent team who are a pleasure to work with and they have the best network of partners so they can make anything happen. And importantly, if you aren’t happy for any reason or if you change your mind (which we are routinely guilty of), Eric and Dianna do whatever is necessary to pivot and make it work. We consider them to be family and are very grateful to have them helping us to create our home.

What a unique experience to meet professionals who are as committed to our satisfaction as they are to their design. Eric and Diana created a master plan for the landscaping in front of our home that incorporated our mature healthy trees while adding new plants, flowers and paths that would thrive in the near and longterm. They further showed their breadth of skills by extending the lifetime of our existing aging pool through an expert renovation. All of this was accomplished at the cost and timeframe to which we had agreed. I was also very impressed by the quality of their crew, with frequent on-sight visits and evaluation by Eric and Diana. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately and thoroughly. We are excited to be embarking on another project with them now at a different property.

I absolutely love this landscaping team and am lucky to have worked with them since I moved to Montclair in 2009. They do snow removal, landscaping and garden/yard upkeep and do an AMAZING job. The entire team is terrific.

I hired Nick even though I read some reviews that said he makes ton of excuses and doesn't show up to the job. Big mistake! Those people are indeed right about his poor work ethic. He is rarely ever on time and most of the time doesn't shows up when he is suppose to. He has every excuse in the book and why he can't make it and it's incredibly annoying when you paying a guy who comes to do the work only when he feels like. NEVER AGAIN! I saved a bunch of money and headache by cutting him off and hiring someone that actually does good work and is always punctual.

Nick really cares about what he does and he knows his stuff. I’ve used Nick both for landscaping and for carpentry and general handyman house repairs and projects. He has made our place a home and has gotten all our various issues solved. Another thing is that if Nick ever does make an error, he stays w it until it’s resolved. He’s very honest and honorable. Happy to recommend him!

Frankly, I'm shocked by some of the other reviews here. It's like we're talking about 2 different guys. We hired nick to lay down a patio with walkways, clear some areas, install drainage, and do some minor planting. My experience was stellar. Nick gave me a price that was far better than any of 6 or 7 other landscapers I consulted, he got the job done in a very short time and before a critical deadline, he always responded to my text messages and calls, he was knowledgeable about town ordinances and permitting requirements as well as the various planting we requested, the quality of his work was excellent, and he corrected every little nit that I raised without objection. Plus, he's an awfully nice guy. I'm giving him a big thumbs up; I was very happy.

Very unreliable and full of excuses. Nick sounded conscientious so we contracted with him for weekly lawn maintenance and yard care. He showed up once and then he never showed up again. When we repeatedly called, Nick would give us one excuse after another. First, there was a family emergency. Then the next time he had two employees quit. Then the next time he was in an accident and then finally, he was in the hospital. Not worth the headache.

Over the last 4 years I have hired Nick to do jobs inside and outside of my home. From seasonal clean-ups and cement sidewalk work, to interior jobs and repairs, he has been responsive and his work is always top notch with very fair pricing. What's more, he is easy to work with and explains his plan for each job so there are no surprises. Highly recommended!
