The guy was wonderful.
I hired him to set my toilet in because every time I did it, it leaked.... Well, it turned out that my toilet was cracked.. He could have charged me much more, But he gave me a break which I really appreciated!! We will be calling again and would recommend to anybody! -
If I could give zero Stars by 100% would, the day after Thanksgiving a sewer pipe burst and my basement began to flood in a panic I googled plumbers didn't know what to do Roto-Rooter came up and I made a phone call the water people came out they were all very nice very accommodating they helped clean up everything and they seemed to be legitimate they help me fill out my insurance claim everything seemed to be good to go - the advised me that they needed to rip out literally my entire basement that everything was compromised and it was an absolute disaster (mind you I'm a single mother one income two children and taking care of my elderly mother) the pluber comes out the kid had no clue what he was doing and I was not confident that he was going to figure out what the issue was $400 down the drain, literally, next day the problem still persisted came out again I was going to charge me $900 I said no way in hell am I paying you $900 he made a phone call to his boss he said okay $400 let's do this they spent the entire day here nothing got done...the day after that some guy came out with a camera basically told me that my sewer pipe had cracked it imploded and I needed a brand new pipe and it was a whole goddamn mess that was going to cost me $12,000 I didn't know what to do I didn't know any better I said I guess that's what I have to do don't I ????? Did I spend $800 on a plumber who didn't do anything I now have a $12,000 sewer pipe they came out they dug everything up put in the new pipe and then I spent an entire month going back and forth in emails with a lady who was just as incompetent as the company itself, call multiple times left multiple voicemails I had two gaping holes in the front and the back of my house and nobody would respond nobody would call me back they FINALLY came out on New Year's Eve to cover the holes and the pipes are still exposed!! I finally get a hold of somebody only to be told that per the contract I signed they did advise me that the new pipes would be slightly exposed and I would have to purchase extra dirt on my end to cover them up completely if that is what I chose to do, what a crock!!! This has been the absolute biggest nightmare of my life I got swindled for sure everybody told me that they are a cash cow company and that odds are my pipe was not destroyed.. moral of the sorry .. get a second opinion, if you are a woman by yourself have a male friend calm check call somebody else don't just be by yourself don't panic get a second opinion

I spoke with Brian today. Though I have an extremely frustrating situation he very patiently listened and very quickly got back to me with a reasonable solution. His customer service was compassionate, professional and extremely proficient!! If you call ask for Brian!

From start to finish this was a great experience. I called around 8:30 last night and they had someone scheduled to come out the next day. Ted was super easy to work with, informative and walked through the issue with us. I'd say he was in and out in about an hour. For people searching, we had a main drain line in the crawl space that needed to be unclogged which was backing up our laundry and kitchen sink. We'll work with roto rooter again because of this experience. Thanks again!

Ooooooh Roto Roots(my name for them cause I think they're below dirt and they're a pain)....NEVER.......EVER!!! Let me start with that..I'm sure you can imagine where I'm going with this. I've heard plenty of stories of how expensive this company is. From this experience...yeah, I know about upcharges and things. The plumber and the company all have to get paid and all that BUT MAAAAAN!!! Why would they try to do a job(big job)that doesn't need to be done? Why would they QUICKLY lower the price when I mention other companies? AND why...would someone else come out and fix the actual problem for a FRACTION of what Roto-Roots estimated. Tried to charge over $7K for the wrong job. When the actual job to fix the problem was less than $500. That is quite a difference I'd say. So, YES everyone!! The stories of them being expensive is absolutely true(from this experience). Call them if you wish. Call them if you may. Handed them back their dish. This is all I have to say.
(This doesn't count but the words are true...I DON'T RECOMMEND ROTO ROOTS!!!) -
Eddie did a great job explaining all the steps that were going to take place. 😀

Tom Z. was amazing when installing our hot water heater. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Will differently request and recommend him

Ryan helped fix my bathtub handle to have the water shut off. Not only was he knowledgeable he helped me understand what and why everything was happening. Would definitely recommend this service to other people

This company is great! I called Roto-Rooter for a leakage in my basement, and within one hour I had two gentleman come and repair all the damages within two hours. The gentleman, Nick and Ken, were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and had a good sense of humor. They were able to explain things to me in very simple terms so I could understand, and help me file a claim from start to finish. First time working with them, and will definitely recommend them to others.

Horrible experience. Installed a broken water heater and left without testing. Came back refurbished it and still claim it’s new. Have refused to respond to any calls or emails.

The technician that came out was very professional and friendly. The job was done precisely and quickly. However, the service fee was astronomical for the amount of work performed.
Edit: Added details and changed from 3 stars to 1
It's been a few weeks since Roto-Rooter was out and I have some updates. The original service was done on Saturday the 6th of January . The call was for our sewage line P-trap by the front curb being clogged and gurgling out debris. We wanted to call a different service but it was a Saturday so we opted to have them come out ASAP. The tech "seemed" professional and quickly unclogged the trap. The service however was over $600 for what was around 4 minutes of unclogging the pipe. He scheduled for a camera tech to come out Monday to inspect and warranty the work.
A technician came out with a camera to inspect the line the following Monday (the 8th of January). This service, although free, was less than reassuring. The technician arrived, and shortly after called my cell phone. I missed the call but looked out the window and saw he had the camera down the line already. I quickly put on my shoes and jacket to meet him, but as I approached, he was already packing up and did not want to set things back up. The technician stated the "P-trap had separated and it would need replaced with a new modern T." This was fine, however I didn't see any of the work he performed. I'm very hands on with this type of work so I always want to know exactly what I'm looking at. Either way, they gave us a quote and left.
Not happy with this, I scheduled a follow up with Horizon. When their technician arrived (1/23/24) and learned that Roto-Rooter had been out first, he warned me of their shady business practices. I agreed that the follow up did NOT seem thorough enough. The tech briefly inspected the line and confirmed the previous techs probably did not do their jobs properly. He scheduled for a camera tech to come out and thoroughly check the line that same day. A few hours later, their camera tech arrived and checked things out. Not only was their technician much more knowledgeable, he actually seemed like he cared.
He showed me that the previous technician probably had trouble getting the camera very far into the p-trap and gave up after a few feet. This tech confirmed that the trap was indeed in disrepair, but that wasn't the only issue. He spent a few minutes working the camera into the line and finally hit the main run from the house. The entire length of 100' cast iron had rusted and rotted out at the bottom, eliminating the correct pitch angle and causing things to get clogged and blocked. After confirming the entire line needed replaced, he then went into the backyard and fed the camera down the line at the back, confirming more rust, and more blockages (all while I stood there and watched as he explained everything in detail.)
This told me two things. The original technicians from Roto-Rooter had no clue what they were doing, OR, just wanted to get the job done quickly without being thorough. The second thing is, if they had come out and replaced the p-trap, they either would not have caught the rotted out pipe at all, or would have found it last minute which would have increased the repair price astronomically.
The professionalism of Horizon Services reminded me that not all big name companies are as trash as Roto-Rooter. Not only will I NOT recommend Roto-Rooter to others, I will actively DISCOURAGE anyone from using their serviecs. -
The Service Tech came out as scheduled. He let me know 30 minutes prior to arrival. I had a clogged bathroom sink. The Tech, AlDenny, told me my options and quoted me a price for the job. He got right to work. He resolved the sink issue which then turned into a bathtub issue which he stayed and fixed. Aldenny was polite and professional. I was pleased with Roto-Rooter.

Eddie was so kind and accommodating! He came, even though it was super late in the evening, and assess the whole situation from top to bottom! I highly recommend him and Roto-Rooter!

I highly recommend this company. The process has been handled very professionally and efficiently. The plumber was top notch and knowledgeable in his repairs and in documenting all issues to forward to the insurance company. The next two phases of water restoration and rebuilding of the bathroom I expect will be handle in the same professionalism and efficiency.

The service tech AL Dennys 2450 who came to my home to clear the sewer line was very professional! He explained the terms of his service and answered any questions I had. He was polite ,thorough and offered suggestions when asked. Al completed his work and explained what would happen next. I would recommend him to anyone. Rotor Rooter is well represented with AL on the job. Thank you again for your service.

So far everything has gone well. Techs have all been excellent!

The company kept me up to date on when my repairmen would be getting to my home and gave continued updates throughout. The repairman was awesome and let me know of all my options that I had and was upfront with the cost of the repairs that I would need. Gave great recommendations of what needed to be changed and repaired. Will definitely be using them again for any plumbing needs and will recommend them to anyone that needs them!

Called them out to fix a clogged pipe, knowing what caused the clog and the water to backup in the sink. The plumber they sent out tried to convince me to tear up my kitchen floors to get to the root of the problem. My pipes, he also insisted that the wayy draining system worked was incorrect and lint was an additional cause to my clog. It was not. After rejecting their quote for OVER $900, contacted Coleman Plumbing. He and his assistant heard my issue came out a few days later and completely removed the clog for more than half the price. Effectively and efficiently, they were professional and friendly as can be.
RotoRooter tried to financially take advantage of us. It's 2025, consumers need to be smarter and work with your local professionals instead of a greddy company.

We had a disastrous toilet leak that flooded the bathroom and leaked through the ceiling damaging our ottoman. Eddie showed up so quickly we were taken off-guard. He analyzed the situation and walked us through the process. Hopefully the repairs will be as smooth and professionally handled like Eddie.

We had an emergency leak at our home and the tech Ryan that came out was super nice and super helpful. He explained what had to be done and temporarily fixed the issue until we could get our other plumber out in the morning to fully resolve the problem. Would recommend them for late night services when no one is available! There is no fee for them to come out and if you’re not okay with the pricing you don’t have to go through with anything
