Appliance Repair reviews in Paramus, New Jersey

Brett was fine. Close to on time.
But all the contact information, email address, phone number and web address on the follow up product replacement email do not work.
The phone only redirects to such an extended email address that it's impossible to write down. No one has responded to the email I sent and the web address doesn't bring you the a Sears site. -
Very pleased with the technician James who serviced the Kenmore Refrigerator. He was very polite, very professional. Worked diligently to replace the parts on Refrigerator, was very thorough and did an overall check, before and after the labor. Thank you James!!

We have been left without an oven since Thanksgiving, due to Sears Home Service technician incompetency. We have had 4 separate scheduled appointments, all rescheduled at no fault of ours. Most recently, the technician was scheduled to come at 3:28, never called, and at 3:50 I received an automated text message with a photo of a house and said "sorry I missed you"- they went to the wrong house. Never got a phone call. When I tried to get in contact with a human at Sears, every phone number or online chat directs me to a robot and then hangs up the phone after re-sending confirmation of the appointment that the technician just missed by going to the wrong home. We are still without an oven.

Desmond went above and beyond to repair the dryer.

I scheduled a technician to come give me a diagnostic on my washing machine. He quoted me for repairs for the wrong machine and failed to mention what was wrong with the machine. I've called customer service for the last 3 days hoping to get a response on why this was and if I could get some more information. I was informed that a new technician could come out and give me another diagnostic BUT ID BE CHARGED AGAIN! $100 for something that was a mistake on our end. Horrible customer service. I will be going elsewhere as you have robbed me.

Found a Freon leak fixed it but never checked to make sure that was the only issue, now I have to wait another week for another tech to come out and actually fix my refrigerator to which I have lost $2000.00 worth of food, and Sears could not care less, the home protection plan is great but customer service stinks. Contacted them like response said they did nothing and I lost $2500 worth of food due to the technician not doing his job and only being reimbursed $300.

James (Sear’s serviceman) NEVER showed up For our scheduled appointment , nor did he call

The technician came late. He also wanted to charge us more than the initial 99.00 fee. He looked at the dryer and told us the gas was off and he turned a switch to turn the gas on. He then attempted to charge 180.00. My husband disputed the charge. We paid the initial 99.00 fee. However, today we wanted dry clothes and it's still blowing cold air. Therefore, we paid for services without proper diagnosis and no repair recommendations. We're also out of 99.00 plus tax.
Who should I contact to make a complaint and request a refund? -
David was professional and courteous. Did a good job. He cleaned up and left everything spotless.

Desmond was top notch but the 8-5 window is highly unreasonable

I have a home warranty contract. Who uses sears appliance repair in Paramus. My dishwasher stopped drying loads first week of August. I have since had 4 technicians come already and replace 3 parts on different visits. I've been with my appliance for over two months. I'm waiting for the 5th technician today as we speak.
Their technicians are not technical. Meaning they are not troubleshooting the actual issue. Rather they are guessing on which part to replace. They have replaced the board, the water pump and something involving the soap dispenser. I'm not a appliance technician. However I knew none of those repairs would fix the issue. None of those part have anything to do with the heating element.
None the less. If you have to pay for their service. I suggest you go elsewhere. They have technicians who are poorly trained, not trained or incompetent. -
Technician was great. The automated scheduling system is horrific.

The call was for the annual check-up. When Brett arrived, he took nothing out of his van. No tools or pressure gauge to check the coolant level. Brett than checked the outside unit. I waited for Brett, outside. but he became busy on a personal phone call for about 10 minutes. At the end of the call he then tells me he could not check the unit properly because it was blocked by a rose bush. This is true. While Brett went inside to check the air handler, I was trimming the rose bush so Brett could finish the job. When Brett came out I showed him the cleared air conditioner. Brett said everything was fine and was about to leave. Iased about the coolant and Brett stated all was well and knew the coolant was fine without checking. Brett then left.

Juan was very knowledgeable capable and personable as a technician. However, I tried to door and there’s still does not seem to be any spring tension to it and it just goes right down. I would like to have the tension tighter. Can you please advise how this can be accomplished.

First I have to say that the technician, Desmon, was a 10 out of 5. He went above and beyond to fix my washer. However the company, Sears Home Services should be avoided at all costs. It took over 4 months to get my washer fixed. Parts were unavailable for months. They never had a record of me when I called, despite supposedly having fixed my account the previous time I called. Everytime I did call somehow the resolution needed to be escalated and would require anywhere from 5 to 10 business days to resolve. They never got back to me, I would have to call. On top of that I would have AI texts. One of the texts said my part was available. Then my AI sent me a list of dates for a tech to come. Including the next day when I didn’t have a part for him. How could that happen. When I called the home service line they didn’t have a clue about what I was talking about. Then they told me they couldn’t book an appointment for me anyway bc there were no techs at all working in my area for the foreseeable future. But she would escalate my concern. Lol. Another 5 business days. I decided to book my appointment through the AI. We figured what do we have to loose. I made it for several weeks out in case the part would be ordered. Well not only did Desmon show up, he went out of his way to buy the part before he came bc it never came. He requested a helper bc the washer was stacked. ( the helper was in the notes but the company did nothing about procuring one for him). This is only the cliff notes of my repair nightmare. Needless to say I will no longer be signing with this company again. On yelp there is a list of complaints as well as a class action suit in Illinois. Walk away if you are smart.

The Sears representative was very friendly and knowledgeable and fixed my craftsman ride on mower to perfection.

Looking through email, I found a Sears advertisement for refrigerator repair and thought to give it a shot and see if they also repaired air conditioners (HVAC). Success! I got lucky and was able to get an appointment within 48 hours. Brett was on time and professional! I’ve had several technicians look at my unit and both recommended replacement but I just didn’t trust the advice. I thought going with a local repair company was more affordable and trustworthy but I was wrong. Putting my faith in the Sears brand was the smartest thing I could do.
With my other unit of the split working, I was slow to move on repairing the big one. Luckily I didn’t trash the unit even though it hadn’t worked for over 7 years—until today. It took Brett 10 minutes to identify the problem that other technicians said was an impossible fix. He was very transparent and I even learned a few things watching him work. His advice and guidance were sound and more importantly the issue corrected. I thanked him profusely because now, I no longer fear warm, humid days.
By the end of the visit, I finally managed to get a few laughs from Brett—he was all business until the job was done. I hope I won’t need service anytime soon but if I do, I know who to call!
I couldn’t be happier! -
Robert, the technician, was very knowledgeable and helpful during the entire time that he was here to fix the problem with my oven. He was able to fix my oven and even gave me suggestions on what to do in case it happens again. I would give him a 5 out of a 5.

The "assessment" was completed in 10 minutes and the technician did not even open the machine. He just gave a reason, based on the noise. After he left, there has been a smell in my basement. Make sure they provide a proper assessment before paying.

Service was fine, however the parts were not available for my fridge . Wish I would have known that before I had today a service fee. Sears appliance repair had my model number before the appointment
