I give them 1 star because it’s the lowest. Terrible cleaning service. I just moved in to the new house with brand new appliances. I wanted to get a move-in cleaning service. The ladies did not do what I asked for. They pretended to clean the area where I asked for only when I was around. When I wasn’t watching them they were just hanging around the cleaned area. I also mentioned them all the appliances are brand new out of the box they don’t need to be cleaned but they were cleaning with a dirty rag.

One of the worst, most unprofessional “cleaning services” I have ever encountered in my life at a time in which cleanliness and health is paramount.

We provided a detailed job list when the two women arrived, reviewed the areas I needed them to focus on but unfortunately neither spoke English so it was extremely difficult to communicate with them. Their cleaning tools were poor, they didn’t change the dirty water frequently and 2 hours later the kitchen (the most important of all rooms as I shared from the beginning) was left absolutely filthy. I wish I knew what they did during this time because there was nothing to show for.

The management is even worse. Terrible customer service and coordination (they rescheduled on me multiple times - I should have known at that time not to proceed!). I hired this service to help with my move in to a new home...instead it left me extremely stressed out and scrambling to do the cleaning myself for move in. $375 later - what a joke! Steer clear this company...it is a major scam.

I have used Maria's Merry Maids service of Morris County for years. I can trust them with everything in my home and they have always done a great job. The dogs love them too.

Do not believe their sales pitch of being professional, organized, and effective. My experience with them was completely the opposite and their manager tried to blame it on my wife. When it comes down to it, they were downright bad at cleaning, which is really the only thing they need to be good at. Didn’t clean sinks, didn’t vacuum huge areas, barely wiped down counter tops. I could have cleaned better myself in maybe half the time. They’ll probably respond to this with something about how they discounted and offered to come back, which would be very misleading for several reasons. And frankly I didn’t want them back in my home after this experience. My advice is find someone else.

Extremely poor results. I do not recommend. I should have cancelled after my first cleaning, but I wanted to give them a chance. There doesn’t seem to be much attention to detail which I believe is the number one important attribute of a professional cleaning company. Also, I had several
Complaints to the office manager about trash not being taken out, floors not being clean, toilets not being clean, bathtubs not being clean,and underneath a small
Coffee table not being clean. Her first response for everything I stated was that they will vacuum under the furniture, but do not move furniture. They do offer to come back, but who wants the same person that left a mess back in your home. It is also not fair to have another team out to correct it, and either I tip them again or they get nothing. I am more than willing to

I've been receiving great service from Merry Maids, Randolph, NJ for over 15 years. The staff is friendly and accommodates my busy schedule. The cleaning crew keeps my house spotless.

This is NOT a review of the service. They never came. After a few weeks of planning, and making an appointment, I was left high and dry. I booked with the more expensive “brand” figuring a “team” would be more reliable than an individual. I was wrong. After booking, and confirming (more than once) I was called about an hour prior to my appointment to be told they weren’t coming. This was a very important weekend, and thanks to Merry Maids, things started poorly. Stick to your local cleaners, there is no upside in booking a more expensive company hoping for reliable service. I’ll be checking the bulletin board at my grocery moving forward.

I called Maria and she went above and beyond to get my purchase of a fixer upper home cleaned right before we moved in! Her team worked diligently to make sure our home was move in ready. I would absolutely recommend the Merry Maids of Morris county and I will use them over and over!!

I would first like to say that I have never written a review in my life but felt so strongly about the extremely poor service I received enough to do so. I even waited to post this in hopes that the issue would either be resolved or that my emotional response would dissipate. Neither has happened so the following is my first-hand account with Merry Maids of Morris County.

I hired Merry Maids of Morris County for a “move-in deep clean” of a recently purchased home. I hired them for the sole purpose of relieving the added stress of just another task in the moving process. When I had made the appointment, I was sent a contract listing all of the services they would provide and was advised to direct the crew when they arrived about exactly what I would like done. I did just that and kindly sat out in my car so that I did not get in their way. Because I did have other service people coming that day as well, I entered the house on a few occasions while they were “cleaning”. After 2 hours and 15 minutes and after them telling me several times I was their last one of the day, they packed up all of their things, hastily getting in their car (as I was speaking with the other service person) and began to leave without verification of a total amount and most of all with out me being able to assess the home. They then called their boss and made me speak to her over the phone. At booking time, I had given them a credit card and made it clear that I would be using another form of payment at the time of the cleaning. She asked me for the new number, couldn’t give me an exact total and told me she would send me a receipt on Monday. The whole exchange was extremely unprofessional. After they had left, I went into the house to find that they had done barely anything. They didn’t clean the blinds, window sills, baseboards, ceiling fans, refrigerator, inside the cabinets or the bathrooms! At one point they came outside to ask me if I wanted them to mop the floors??? The following is a passage from their contract which itemizes the services I was expecting:

“You may customize the cleaning but generally we include all baseboards, blinds, ceiling fans, window sills, door frames, light switch plates, and door knobs/cabinet handles. We will sanitize the kitchen & bathrooms top to bottom. The team will wash/damp mop/vacuum all the flooring and vacuum upholstered furniture. General dusting is done in the living room, dining room, bedrooms, hallways, and entryway. We will be cleaning inside all kitchen cabinets, inside refrigerator and outside of the oven. If there is something else you would like to add please let me know. We are glad to help.”

I had to clean the entire house myself after they had left and after being charged $399.84! This was not a case of “not up to my standards”. There were layers of dust and dirt on the blinds, windowsills, baseboards and ceiling fans, visible stains in the refrigerator and hair from the previous owners in the bathrooms. I wrote an email to Sue Harris Friday evening 8/12/22 after this unfortunate incident. First thing Monday morning, 8/15/22, she charged the wrong credit card and sent a receipt at 3:30 pm, never responding to my email from 8/12/22 to try and rectify the issue. When I responded that I would like a response to my initial email, she did respond with a generic answer asking me to detail, once again, what I was not happy with. I never heard anything back so I disputed the charge with my credit card company. After 60 days, the credit card sided with Merry Maids. Sue Harris lied on her response to the credit card company. She never contacted me about a discount or coming back to rectify the issue. She also stated that the house was extremely dirty and they didn't have time to clean the home completely which was a bold faced lie as it was a newly renovated home left in good condition by the previous owner. She must cut and paste this answer often. While I know they are a licensed business this felt like a complete scam.

I first had Merry Maids do a deep clean of my apartment, which really needed it. They did a great job and I came home to beautiful apartment as if I just moved in. I now use Merry Maids on a monthly basis to keep up the appearance of my apartment. The girls do a great job and are very courteous.

We have been clients of Merry Maids for several years now and are very happy, and satisfied, with the professionalism, thoroughness, courteousness and pleasantry shown with each service.
Throughout the pandemic months, the staff of Merry Maids were very understanding of our needs, and wants, and have continued to work with us to make us feel comfortable.

We’ve used Merry Maids of Randolph monthly for the past two years. They do great work even when we have a hurricane of a toddler at home. Our house gets a nice cleaning once a month. This gives us such piece of mind.
