Constraction reviews in Roselle, New Jersey

I am very satisfied with this company and their work ethics. Joe Pecario's company did my garage roof in 2012 after the storm Sandy destroyed our property. Recently for the sale of our home we were told by a contractor our roof was leaking and damaged and demanded $16,000 price reduction. I called Joe because I trusted in their knowledgeable, professional and honest opinion. Joe Pecario came himself on time and climbed on my roof with an ease that was astonishing, he inspected it thoroughly as well as my attic. I must say I was relieved when he said my roof has another 10 years of life in it and no leaks. But what I was most pleased about was his professional and honest evaluation. It's very difficult to find a company with the moral and professional values Joe's company has. I have been recommending them since 2012 and will continue to do so.

Joe Percario was a pleasure to work with. Not only is his team professional, meticulous, and friendly, but they also gave us the most affordable quote on our home with the highest quality results. My husband and I recently bought a house in Somerville and without Percario’s help, it wouldn’t be up to our expectations. They were incredibly helpful. Percario’s designed our roof, redid our floors, and finished our bathrooms all with modern and beautiful design. They have impeccable taste and craftsmanship. We trust their judgment and expertise because they have always been fair and honest with us.

If you don't know Joe, keep it that way!
I wish I could give no stars.
There hasn't been one thing that has gone right on my project.
They didn't start when scheduled.
They still are not done. More than 2 years now.
The new windows leak.
The new French Doors don't close properly.
The garage door was never installed.
The quality of the siding and installation was lousy.
When Dominic thought he was going to get some more money from Certaiteed for the removal and replacement of the siding, he came back to finalize and correct the work.
Once I told him that I was not going to go through with that work, he ghosted me again
I now discovered mold inside my house, leading me to believe the siding is allowing water to get in somewhere.
I fixed the French Doors myself.
I am having the garage door installed personally.
STAY AWAY FRON THIS GROUP! -
We used Joe Percario for a family room addition, and master bedroom and kitchen extension. This was a long, big project with some unanticipated problems along the way (as expected with an older home), but we were very happy with the results and the process. We had Dave Hackney as our project manager who was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and trustworthy. He was very organized in having his subcontractors come in at the right times in the project so that there was rarely any down time in the construction. We were happy with all the subcontractors that he used and also all the Percario employees as well. They were all professional and respectful. Even after the project was finished, Percario came back to take care of some issues we had with the settling of the new construction. The office was efficient in setting up an service call appointment within a week.

Been meaning to post a review for a while, but we have a 2-year-old, so it's tough to sit down for any amount of time! My wife and I had Percario replace our roof on a home we bought last year, and we were extremely pleased with the professionalism, efficiency and quality of their work.
We initially called to get an estimate of the age of our roof for an insurance company who requested it. It spoke volumes that Joe himself came to our house, and that he immediately pulled out a ladder and climbed onto the roof in his slacks and button-down. We weren't thrilled to find out we needed an entirely new roof, but that wasn't Joe's fault, and he told us they would also fix ventilation, siding, chimney and mold issues that we didn't even know were there. Joe was a funny guy and speaks his mind with little filter, which I enjoy and also appreciate, since I want someone to tell it like it is without glossing over anything.
John, the project manager, was no-nonsense and very accessible, and the crew did what looks like excellent work. And since the roof is guaranteed for a number of years, we know that if we have a problem going forward, we'll be able to call on them again.
Having interacted with a different roofing company in the past year and having a drastically worse experience, we wholeheartedly recommend Percario for all your roofing needs. In fact, we were so impressed that we have another project we plan to call on them for. (So expect that call soon!) -
We had a very old roof that needed replacing. A few companies we had come out for estimates flat out ghosted us because of the difficulty of the job. When Joe came it was immediately noticeable the experience that we would get hiring him. And they did not disappoint. The size of this project was never an issue and John, the on-site manager, was upfront, diligent, and most of all, respectful. We had a new roof, shingles, and gutters installed. All done on time. The cleaning up of my property was also an undertaking and was done above and beyond my expectations. John even came back a day later to check my property and both my neighbor’s property for nails. Very appreciative of everything and the quality of my new roof. Would 100% use them again for future projects.

Do we know Joe? Yes, we do and we are glad to have made his acquaintance!
Our church recently had a very unusual and tricky ceiling repair that needed to be done in our sanctuary. Due to the difficulty of this project and the fact that it posed a safety concern, many contractors we talked with wouldn’t even consider the project. Joe Percario and his son were truly interested in the job and they turned a proposal in to us in a matter of hours. Joe and Dominic delivered on all their promises, completed the job on time and did everything we asked and more. Dominic was our main contact and I personally found him very easy to work with. He responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had, and the crew was respectful of our sanctuary during this project. The repair is beautiful and our congregation can return to worshipping there knowing that the ceiling is safe and secure. We are very pleased with the work they have done, and we would highly recommend them! -
Had a great experience with Joe Percario General Contractors on our kitchen addition. From the start of the project they had creative solutions for expanding our existing kitchen. When work began our 100 year old house had some surprises which they anticipated and were able to keep moving forward. Joe Percario’s core team was professional, worked well together and seem to enjoy what they do. They gave excellent advice and guidance to help us make decisions along they way. The subcontractors were also professional and efficient. We are thrilled with the new kitchen and spend a lot of time there. The design is gorgeous and so much more functional than our old kitchen, truly life changing. We just hosted our first large gathering with the new kitchen and our friends and family were blown away. We highly recommend Joe Percario General Contractors.

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING CONTRACTING PERCARIO. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID.
My parents contracted Percario to renovate their kitchen, no, i'm sorry they contracted whoever Percario sub-contracts. That's how they have 4 stars on google. Because THEY don't actually do any of the work. After the job was postponed with no warning or explanation, they "started" the job by coming and going to their house with no schedule or heads up. Some days they did not show up at all. The project manager did not answer his cell phone, and the company never answered the main line unless you pressed the "Emergency Extension" in which a manager or owner was never available and the receptionist had every excuse in the book as to why no one could come to the phone.
This 3.5 week reno has now lasted 7 months. If you are still reading and still considering using this business, these are the events that transpired, in no specific order, under multiple “project managers”:
- Project Manager tried to get us to do more home improvements, saying he would get a bigger commission.
- INSTALLED THE FLOORING FIRST- which resulted in the floor raising and becoming unleveled. Had to REDO the flooring and order new materials and tear up the kitchen again after the project was “done”. We are on our second tiling which is now cracking down the middle and raising all over again.
- Cutting of tile INSIDE the house
- Never answering the phone calls or texts; never returning voicemails
- Worker brought his 15 year old son to the house
- Ordered wrong materials
- Sink “fell off” the back of their truck and was completely destroyed upon delivery
- Project manager fighting with my brother; saying he did not want to come to the house while he was there because he would question their non-existent work ethic/inability to show up/answer calls
- Not coordinating deliveries of materials when workers were on site
- Went into our basement and through my father’s tools, used his leveler, got cement all over it, tried to put it back and hide the fact that they did this
- Ruined the floors in our dining room by using the wrong tape to cover the floor and pulling up the hardwood finish- NEVER FIXED TO THIS DAY
- When cabinets (that we were keeping) were removed they threw out the kick plates and tried to tell us that they didn’t.
- Found holes in the pantry walls
- Molding was cut too short
- Back-splash grout is cracking
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON...
ALL THAT SAID, 7 months have now gone by and this project has been NOTHING but a DISASTER. The only way to get someone on the phone is to press the “Emergency Client” extension where Kathy tells you to contact the project manager or that no one is available. After I finally got a hold of someone, they agreed to come out to the house and take a look at everything that was going on and all the damage that they still HAVE NOT fixed. That person set a date and time to come by, did not show up, did not answer phone calls and ghosted us for 5 days. After another phone call to Kathy, Paul came to the house, promised to rectify the situation and bring “Joe Percario himself” to our house to see what was done and work something out. He took pictures of everything to show Joe. He said he would call me the next day to schedule this. Needless to say, that has not happened yet.
PLEASE, do yourself a favor and properly vet these companies before you sign a contract with them. Ask questions. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. And DO NOT use Percario unless you want poor work, no communication, a headache, and sadness. -
We had our roof replaced along with the gutters some time ago. Our roof is still in excellent condition. I love Joe Percario Construction! They have incredible service right down to the office personnel. It's truly a family owned business with Joe and John as the two who have helped us out. Honest people! Excellent!

I have a very old house and with it comes problems. I needed to renovate my kitchen and called on Joe Percario. They put a new roof on my house a few years ago so I know the quality of their work.
I had a limited budget and Joe and Dominic were able and willing to work with me. They came up with a very nice and affordable kitchen.
His workers were very pleasant and very professional. They had respect for me and my property. They were here every morning on time and made it a point to greet me and let me know what they will be working on that day. When they left they always came and let me know they were leaving and what the plan was for the following day.
During the work they ran into a couple of unforeseen problems and before they did anything they showed me what it was and what my options were, and the cost. They never just did it and added the cost on. I was very pleased with the finished kitchen. In short I was very happy with their work and will use them again if needed. I will also recommend them to my friends and family.

I am adding to my review. Although I stand more or less by my original review, I want to add something to it. I had a couple of issues a couple of months after they finished the work, so I called them l left a message with Bonnie explaining what the issues were she told me she will give Joe the message and someone will get in touch with me. Well here it is a few months later and I still have not heard from them!! So I called my handy man because I have some small things that need to be done , so he will address the issues I am having with the job Joe Percario did not call me back on. So even though they did a good job, they don’t get back to you once things are Done and an issue comes up. I can understand it if it was a year or so but this was only a few months. So I will have to think hard about using them again. Which is a shame because I was happy with the work until this happened -
I initially contacted Joe Percario Contractors for a roof estimate as I used them many years ago when I first purchased my home. The estimate was done by the owner, and he stayed right on target.
I decided to expand the job to kitchen, bathroom, and new windows. They helped me design a layout to maximize my small space to create an efficient kitchen with plenty of storage, offered me a very reasonable quote and the end result exceeded my expectations. Everything turned out beautifully!
The crew was prompt every day, worked hard, cleaned up, and completed the projects quickly. The workmanship on tile is amazing. I’m not a person to make quick decisions and need to think everything through first. The crew kept me informed of everything they did and brought things to my attention I would never have thought of. Always willing to answer my questions or make a recommendation even after the work was completed.
I finally have the kitchen and bathroom I’ve wanted for years!
